League Of Legends' Lore/Full story

I think that Riot should give us a full story of League of legends or at least a recap of the story, because its really interesting to know the story of the game and makes it fun to play, i know that in every champions' page there is a lore for the champ, but still its not even showing a lot of the champions' relationships (ex, why are they rivals/friends, etc.), what happened in the wars (ionia's invasion, etc.), in some cases its an unfinished lore like j4's (ex, Those close to him believed that his capture had changed him. Xin Zhao was quoted as saying: "His eyes never seemed to look at you, only through you to something he could not look away from." was he corrupted for example???) and much much more. I'm sure that a lot of lol players agree with me that it makes the game way more fun (the story alone is also fun) if Riot makes a full story (the watchers and freljord, demacia and noxus, etc.) or even a movie series about league of legends. And if anyone thinks that i didn't search hard enough to find the full story plz provide links, and if u agree with me plz upvote. :)

League of Legends doesn't have a story, especially not after the removal of the IoW. Instead, it has many smaller stories that are connected to some of the other small stories, creating a web which is the lore.

We are also currently in a state of continuous retconning, which means we have to question all the lore that was established already. For example: We know the Ionia vs. Noxus war happened, but why? How could Noxus still defend against Demacia?

During said time (Noxus vs Ionia) Zaun was helping Noxus at expense of Noxian soldiers who were used as rat labs for whatever purposes the zaunites were up to. Note that Singed took a huge role during said Invasion and Singed is from Zaun.

Both Noxus and Zaun armies were extremely busy fighting in the invasion of Ionia. We know as a confirmed fact that all their major military forces were locked in that war, seeing as people involved in the invasion include Singed, Warwick and Riven, which likely also means the rest of their military force.

Now, let us look at the world map.

There it is.

  1. Demacia and Piltover are in the direction opposite from Ionia as far as Noxus and Zaun go. In fact, the only major landmark between Demacia and Piltover is the Institute of War.

  2. The passage through the Guardian's Sea leads within maybe a week's travel from Bilgewater, meaning those areas would be actively patrolled by pirate crews looking to profit off passing merchants.

Without the Institute of War inhibiting Demacia's progress and keeping both it and Piltover in check, the tactical layout behind the Noxian invasion of Ionia is, to put it mildly, embarrassing. Noxus's alliance with Bilgewater is more guidelines than hard rules. The supply ships heading between Noxus and the Ionian front lines would be easy pickings for Bilgewater pirates and would come under attack badly, leaving Noxus's military stretched between Ionia, guarding the city and providing armed-to-the-teeth convoys for their supply routes. As a result, nothing would stop Demacia from simply charging at Noxus from the rear, smashing through the severely diminished forces and razing the city.

A neutral third party to keep Demacia in check is literally the only thing that would keep Noxus from being completely demolished. It's not a strategy or an invasion, it's a deathwish.

Actualy the IoW prevented Demacia from acting fearing that due to the already high-tension between the two rival city states, it could case another war to emerge, also during said time Ionia was not yet part of IoW remaining as neutral faction, which is the exact reason why Noxus / Zaun wen rampage over (land controll). During / after the invasion Ionia got accepted on IoW however the damage was already done and Noxus / Zaun possesed control of a nice chunk of land from Ionia.

The following events were: Karma / other ionian requested to join IoW and to allow em to fight Noxus (not Zaun if i recall) and if Ionia wins the army stationed could leave Ionia alone, on Case of Defeat Noxus could remain under controll of the claimed land and Ionia could be prevented from requesting anothe batle for the next 10 years.

Ionia won and noxus recalled, Riven, which was a soldier under singed wing, after watching her brethen (allies) and enemies dying to singed weaponn (poison and much other tuff from Zaun) betrayed em and became na Exiled. This is my knowledge so far.

That... doesn't actually address anything I said.

I tough you were implying that Demacia could fight agaist noxus/zaun with help from piltover/bilgewater i counter argumented that demacia was stoped by the IoW was i wrong? if so sorry for misunderstading :S

No, my point was that in a world without the Institute of War, the Noxian invasion of Ionia would have gotten Noxus demolished within a month. There wouldn't be nations helping each other in a fight against Noxus. Noxian military would have been stretched so thin by the invasion that Ionia, Demacia and Bilgewater would tear it apart on different fronts without ever saying a word to each other.

Within the new retconned lore, the Noxian-Ionian War is impossible because once you apply basic military logic, you'll realize Noxus had no logical way of surviving the invasion.

I've pointed out pure logic before, mainly to illustrate how many champions would today be dead in the ground (Brand for instance, would be extremely dead and trapped again). I've been given one answer to why all this stuff, logic and milatary strategy, is irrelevant.

Plot Armor

YAY COPOUTS.

Anyways.

Looking at Valoran currently, then the locations of Demacia, Piltover, and even Bandle City and Freljord, Noxus is honestly screwed. Invading Ionia would bring force Demacia for sure - with IoW to keep Demacia at bay, Noxus being occupied by the Ionian Conflict was a political matter. Now? Demacia would capitalize on Noxus being busy, and coordinate wtih Piltover (one of their closest allies) and Freljord (Ashe, in my view, would see the oppression and invasion as a grave insult and gladly join the fight). With Noxus' stance of Bandle City (Yordles are second class citizens last I checked), you have Noxus with a good chunk of it's military oversees fighting Ionian resistance groups while Demacia/Piltover press in with their forces, followed by freljord pressing in to force Noxian withdrawl.

Then Yordles led by Teemo and his Satanic Commandos just start killing shit in Noxus until the Citystate burns with mushroomic fire.

There no longer is an institute of war. Did you read the dev blog? http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/riot-official/6TxWksvF-dev-blog-exploring-runeterra

So no longer would the Institute stop Demacia from crushing a distracted Noxus. This is why we don't know much about the Noxus vs. Ionia war as of now.

Sneak Dog1 votes

This is exactly why with the removal of the institute, we have to question the Noxus vs. Ionia war again. Yet red posts insist that the Noxus vs. Ionia war did happen. I just used it as an example, for there are many things where the institute was an important plot point.

We basically know nothing of the world save for the new lore and the basics (Bilgewater is pirates, Demacia is order and justice, those kind of things). This game and its lore is five years old and we barely know any details!

I know league of legends doesn't have a story, i'm suggesting that they would make one.

J4's Lore is incomplete on purpose. We don't know what happened to him, although it's very much hinted that the J4 we know is not the one that left on the hunting trip, and somehow LeBlanc has a hold of his blood and has used it at least once to transform into him to aid Swain in tricking the rest of Valoran.

A full story summary would be something I'd like to see on the main page, but it would have to be in categories, since the chronology is all over the place and a lot of things have no stated date or age. In addition, lots of the City States have had little to no interaction, especially if you take the removal of the League into account.

Actually the blood you are refering is from Jarvan (the 1st or Second) not the Actual (4th). Although i do agree his lore is unfinished i do recall that j4 4th was undercontrol by the Black Rose and that Le Blanc took his form (disguised herself) to scheme something on Demacia Throne. But that is all i know so far due to the unfinished state of the story.

I think that's still Uncomfirmed and speculation at this point. Remember that Swain refers to it as "the prince's blood" not the King's. It could mean the same thing, if he's doing the whole "Families share blood" thing that's more metaphor than science (and it's a fantasy setting, so why not?)

If that old "decoding" of Talon's note from an old JoJ issue was, in fact, correct (I can't find the topic right now, but the "Quarter To Clutter" one), the real Jarvan IV is a captive of the Black Rose, along with maybe Marcus DuCouteau? There's a ton of old speculation on that, and it's something I'd really like to see that guy who does the big posts on topics like Darkin and other unexplained lore phenomena to write about. If he or she is reading this, there's my vote.

My memories of the time may be lacking now, but I remember just figuring out that LeBlanc impersonating Jarvan was a one-time thing. I never found really sensible for LeBlanc to be Jarvan the whole time. Considering that then Jarvan IV proceeded to unveil the Kalamanda conspiracy with the aid of Talon and Katarina it makes little sense.

It could be a retcon. We'll never really know the original intent of the writers for that event, but it's interesting to note the things that happened because of the Kalamanda conspiracy. Boram mysteriously dies, Swain takes over, the League and JoJ are discredited...seems like an overall win for a certain new Grand General. He didn't get any of the blame. And now "Jarvan" knows two Noxian champs who might be poking around where they don't belong.

If it was meant to be LB impersonating Jarvan the whole time, Swain still would have come out far on top. But it is a little odd.

What I meant is exactly this. It would be odd. Why? Swain had contacts with the IoW's higher-ups and while he wouldn't lose that much by being declared part of the conspiracy that couldn't be said for the League's members. Swain was on the right part of the gun, his accomplishes were not, so he could resort to blackmail and other means to assure they kept being "gentle" to him. What I mean by Swain not having a lot to lose if he were revealed to have been plotting it all is that Noxians would accept that kind of move as a sign of strenght. Katarina herself commented on the JoJ:

"He gave Kalamanda to the League in exchange for power in Noxus. A bold move. A strong move. The strong may rise to power here, but this wouldn’t be Noxus if there weren’t always others with the strength to challenge them."

No one would say "it's not fair" in Noxus in front of all of this, in every scenario for Swain dissent just means strong people fighting him. Those would have done it in any case, conspiracy unveiled or not; because that's how Noxus rolls: if you can't keep the position you get to, then you were not worthy of it and you may use any means to reach your end.
