I would like to know what exactly changed with the splash art styles in the past months

With each new splash art I become more and more curious on what exactly changed between the release of jinx or yasuo to now. I look back at their splashes and the art style is pointed more towards the older style splashes even though they are still relatively newer champions.

I would assume it's just to give a wider angle on how champions would like in action rather then just having them stand around doing nothing. Action shots are by far more interesting, not to mention tons more fun to draw!

Yea I can understand that. But I am more talking about the quality of the splash. It just confuses me on how they can change the quality and style so suddenly.

They probably had it planned already. With something like splash arts, obviously a still picture, it's kind of hard to make a transition to action shots without just jumping right into it. If it was TV, there are obviously frame by frames which lead into an action shot, making it seem more like a smooth transition. But with paintings, it's do or die, now or never. They just had to jump right in.
