I've been thinking that maybe darkin will be the counter faction to Shurima(i personally don't like Xerath vs a country) and if this is true THEN maybe Shuriman royalty cant be used as hosts(or can tap power from the darkin) and following from that it would explain why the fire-haired woman could pick up the bow and use it. It would also mean that MAYBE Sivirs weapon is the sister. It would also explain how her blood resurrected Azir since darkin introduced blood magic(something like as Sivir died the darkin took more control and gave her more power). I always found it weird that blood magic resurrected Azir where no other such instance of Shuriman blood magic exists maybe because they have similar ideals they fight together(greed) it also explains why Sivir didn't stay to become royalty and basically be rich(which we know she loves) and instead go on a journey to find the other darkin. The best counter-argument by far is ‘who uses a darkin as a key” With my only answer being a guy who wants whatever touches the key to die.

Another very likely candidate other than (Kayle/Morgana) is Amumu (YES, YES, I know he is cursed but maybe that's how he SEES it) since in his music video the curse seemed awfully alive as if trying to make his life miserable and he comes from the only other Tomb other than the Renekton/Xerath one that we know of. I don't know if its canon that he was born with the curse though. He also doesn't have a weapon but maybe it's his wraps? If we combine this one with one before about Shuriman blood, it feels as if the Darkin/Curse is trying to break him to take control This theory holds up way less though but is just more food for thought.( I felt that Amumu was being forgotten again :*( ).

Also, I would love a void/darkin or a darkin/shadow isle or a void/shadow isle mix up. Since at this moment every part of Runeterra feels like an island with not too much connecting them. Especially the factions and even more the evil ones. In my opinion, the best-woven stories are Piltover (only due to the map) then Ionia due to the Vastayans. It would be so cool if Mordekaiser at some point in the lore describes the potential of the void, or a voiding gets possessed by a darkin, or a darkin goes to the shadow isles OR Iceborne escapes through the void and merges with it. It would make Runeterra look as if it's in an even worse position than ever before.

Sivir's weapon (Chalicar) has already been explained to have belonged to one of the earliest Ascended beings, the Warrior Queen Setaka, that predated both Nasus and Renekton. Since Varus didn't remember Shurima to have any backward flowing rivers, this means that the Shuriman empire had already collapsed from Azir's botched Ascension and Renekton/Xerath had already been sealed within the Tomb of Emperors far before the Darkin War was ever waged on Runeterra. The Chalicar since it's the key to the tomb has already existed in that case, and can't possibly be a Darkin, as well as Amumu who I recall predates Azir. Also since the chamber that the "sister" was imprisoned in was charred black and glossy by ancient fire, the only speculation left is that she'll be a new champion eventually.

Why does every faction need a "counter"? I mean Noxus is the archenemy of both Demacia and Ionia,while the Freljord has no main enemy besides itself.

In general I am pretty sure that no other champion will turn out to be a darkin. Varus was only retconned into one,because his organic bow was fitting the darkin theme far too much to ignore.
