Lore - Why wait for Riot?

This is my first post in the "new" Boards. I have been playing League on and off for 3 years now and what got me to start playing was the awesome story behind each champion and the JoJ. I personally know 3 other players that started for the same reason. To me (and many others) League without lore is like cereal without milk.

My point is - Why wait for Riot to create a Lore for us? They have obviously proven that the problem is out of hand and it's not in their ($) interest to get it fixed any time soon. I see a lot of passionate players here that want to contribute. So let's do it ourselves. Let's take what we know from the JoJ, IoW, Champion Lores, etc. and create our own Runeterra.

We can create a website dedicated to this single purpose.

What do you guys think?

you know what, your idea is more than just leaguefactions, they obviously have their thing going on but what you are proposing is quite interesting, writing for the sole purpose of having fun and creating compelling content is basically Riot game's starting point... Many of us wants to go and work for riot but very few have the drive enough to make it.

I would encourage you to stay on track and do what you feel is best. Indeed the community doesn't have to wait for Riot, as a matter of fact, pitching content will make their work a tad harder perhaps and you know what they say... if you can't beat them... hire them.

I've been working on a story for a year and a half that expands the lore to some extent if you want to check it out. It's a fanfiction called Pebbles along the Path, and it was in its prime just before the old forums went down so of course I would be a bit salty about Riot taking it down. I understand that it's a pretty long fanfic and the start is not great from the best, but I did a stand alone piece that is a better representation of what it entails (shameless plug is shameless). I personally think that it's a pretty strong story overall and touches on a couple of harder concepts that Riot would never touch (it's got slavery and rape in later chapters, so yeah...). If anything I'd be for this idea if anything, but I have a lot of my own things to do and can't make websites. I can help out with stories and such, but I'm very focused on my own take so I'll probably have to stop at just helping others to set up their own stories for the most part.
