Riot completely and utterly fails to understand how to update champions

The entire concept behind reworking a champion is to bring them in line with the modern state of League, to refresh them, give them a new breath of air. Galio is one of the least played champions in the game, and for good reason. The disconnect between his appearance and gameplay, which was generally very boring and not memorable outside of his ult, made even Urgot more enticing to play. What this rework should have done was give Galio the abilities to make me feel like I'm playing a big gargoyle. Unfortunately, they have failed in this regard, because there is no longer a gargoyle to play. For that matter, Galio himself no longer exists. In his place, we have some big, bland looking statue man straight from WoW who's entire personality and role appears to be, "Zac except a rock". This is very disappointing, as there was never anything wrong with Galio's appearance or personality. A new model to go with a much more coherent kit was all that was needed, but instead, people who liked the original Galio get to watch something completely unrecognizable take his place.

I absolutely love it that every time a champion gets updated, their seven total mains always make threads.

Also those people who hate riot that just want to find a reason to complain when they played the champion about twice in their entire time in League.

You are complaining about his personality without having heard his full VO, and ranting about his appearance without understanding why he looks the way he does compared to how he did before. Yes he may be closer to a statue than a gargoyle now, but what gargoyle do you know is probably the size of a mountain and the embodiment of a country's ideals?

What about Warwick ? I'm pretty sure they did that one right.

You complain about his kit not feeling that of a gargoyle, but what really fits a gargoyle?Turning to stone, being protectors and flying are pretty much the only things that a gargoyle does. And since Galio is always made of stone(and he might even turn into a statue during his W,we haven't seen that one yet) he does cover all of these with his new kit.

I wasn't aware the kit was revealed. If it wasn't what makes you think there is a disconnect?

It terms of the eyeball test I agree that the rework is a fail. That thing I'm looking at isn't galio. He looked right in his old form.

Now they did a good job on the new form technically, but the direction is completely wrong.

Zero craps given. Continuity only works as long as it's good. The new DC movie universe has a continuity, but everyone hates it.
