Renekton's new VO lines (And new VO lines in general)

Why aren't they used outside of ascension? I know they sound sort of different than his old quotes, but I still think they fit.

Without Ascension in place, they're just lost and forgotten. Any particular reason these can't be added to his full repertoire?

I'm also curious as to whether or not Riot would ever to 'Audio Updates'. Similar to what they did with Cass, she basically got a full new VO with her texture update and kit rework. I think this is something they should do more often, with more champions, because not every champion is gonna get a VU. Even recently released champions like Lucian and Jinx don't even have half the lines that newer champs and skins have, which isn't a bad thing (Riot's advanced since then), but I feel they, and other champions who won't get VUs, should be updated.

Hey Crewx,

With Mode specific VO, some of the lines made for the mode would not work out-of-mode context. However, there were additional taunts that were held over to his full kit. If the new VO is not mode specific, we will use it for the full kit. However, I will ask our narrative team to take a look and see if there are any lines that were held to be reconsidered for full kit!

In terms of the audio updates, ill jump in as I am on the Champion Update team.

The Voice Over process starts with our Narrative Team. So starting from the top, the first step involved is to have our Narrative Team write a script and have it vetted by the team and writers. Some older champions require far more attention to lore and background story than others, as well as possibly needing to find a new Voice Over actor (Example: Sion, Karthus, etc). The process can be slightly faster if we use the same actor. So the actual content to record needs to be written first. And while we have dedicated writers that update old champions VO sets, they are on the Champion Update team. These writer(s) are responsible for a great task of diving deep into the champion and really exploring the champ. This takes awhile. And this timeline works with our current Champion Update team release cadence. Additionally, we have to record the talent. So once the final script starts to form, we have been auditioning for the part, having an exploratory recording session with the chosen actor/actress, evaluating the direction of the voice as a team, and then recording the full script once its finalized. Once we have the voice recorded, then I will take the voice and process it (if it needs processing), edit and master the finalized files, This takes quite a bit of time. This amount of time also fits perfectly into our release cadence of updated champions. Additionally, the script has to be translated into over 15 different languages, casted by a region-specific actor, recorded, and files also processed - all from studios across the world. *Then *we can get the champions voice into the game. By this time, ill have been working on the same champion's sound effects!

Given this lengthy process to update Voice Over, we prioritize updating the VO on champions released by the Champion Update team. The Casseopia VO you heard was updated as we already had her in for the Shurima event. Sometimes we can bundle champion updated VO sets with event recording sessions, letting us achieve a new set of VO for an older champion before their time for an update occurs.

We love updating champion VO, however its quite a lengthy process as you can see. So when the Champion Update team chooses to do so, we usually give priority to the heavy hitting projects that will provide the most impact and value to you all. Once the Champion Update team revolves around completing all the current must update champions, the eye will turn on the more-recent yet needing-love champions!

Thanks for your feedback CrewX!
