Hey guys,
A few players are reporting issues interacting with the game during a match, or unable to use their mouse or keyboard. The culprit here seems to be Discord Overlays.
Disabling Discord Overlays should fix this up!
Be super wary about apps and modifications, they can be prone to cause issues and are not something we support. More info on our stance for third party apps. Stay safe friends!
I have issues with imputing key commands even when I don't have discord open. Usually if I completely exit out of the client and restart then it fixes it. But almost every first match I que for won't allow me to input key commands until I restart. (mouse and mouse commands work but using key presses to cast spells will not) this has been going on for months tho. Since before discord even had the overlay I believe.
This here is the exact reason why i hate overlays in games. Not all games work the same and some times the overlay is ugly and gets in the way, they flash and distract when someone talks. When i notice any program has an overlay enabled by DEFAULT I get annoyed and then have to figure out before the game starts how to disable it and some programs have very badly made ways to find the settings for it. I just recently installed Twitch chat, which used to be curse voice and the settings are under FILE which is a terrible place for that. I had to put up with that crap for an entire match, hate overlays i wish people would not make them DEFAULT ENABLED. If people want an overlay they will enable the overlay and once the people who make voice chat programs understand that we will all be a little happier. (sorry for the rant)
seems to be a new issue. MAYBE your last patch :thinking: maybe you should stop researching in-game voice ops and make sure your client works well with established communication apps like discord?

This glitch has haunted me every time I log into a game 0_0 It only happens rarely but when it does and I didn’t test if it happened, oh gosh. Lane opponents are now up 20cs as I reboot League to fix the issue.
Though I will say in the 1 1/2 years I’ve been on League actively, I’ve never had a Mouse problem with it. Only maybe 1/15 games glitching my keyboard so I could type in chat but not activate abilities. (Usually saying “be right back, keyboard glitch” before rebooting League it I checked by insta leveling an ability.)
Thanks for letting me know about a solution, this should help reduce pre game jitters a bit. (Though it has happened less recently,annoying when it does).

I had this issue a couple of times, and solved it by rebooting. Which also meant, Discord was closed. Next time I will try closing Discord only. Thanks for the tip. :)
Ahhh I think this explains a lot. This might have been what was happening to me a month or so ago.
I didn't even know Disc had an ingame overlay and lost a ranked game cause of this ;-;
My discord wasnt even running but this turned out to be the issue. Weird. Thanks for the help though. Sad I lost LP because of this though :P
I think that's the reason why I was upset about my mouse on my ARAM games. I dunno why it keeps happening but I hope this fixes it.
So I downloaded League and had no problems playing, I downloaded discord and I had these same problems you all are having, so I made the connection and uninstalled discord thinking that would solve my problem, nope! so I uninstalled and reinstalled league and it fixed it! for the rest of that day.... next day I tried to play with that same friend I tried playing with before and it happened again! I don't have discord, any help would be appreciated!

Hey I just had this happen to me two times in a row, II got leaverbuster and I lost about 40 lp*[sg-ahri-1]*
Is it atless possible for me to get the leave buster removed?
This has been an issue for months with not just Discord. The only fix is completely logging out of league as fast as you can relogging. Normally is fine after. So this certainly isn't just Discord, It's been happening for months. Good try though Riot. -___________-
Guys if you have the Twitch desktop app the same bug can happen, make sure to disable your overlay there too, found out the hard way.
I was speaking to a friend about this and he says he never experiences this problem because he changed some of the overlay key bindings so he won't accidentally press the button which causes you to lose control of your mouse or keyboard. Not sure if this is what everyone is having a problem with. I personally don't use discord overlay, but I thought I might mention this in case it helps anyone.

Can someone please help, I have tried all of the things above and I am pretty sure its not my mouse because it works for everything besides League. I even used the Hextech repair tool. I'm tired of looking as if im afking in game because of this.
is good to know this is not a Riot Games fault or bug, but I'm having this issue from some time ago, even when I'm not a Discord user, I don't use to install 3rd party software preventing malware, adware and viruses, I even scan my system after each Riot update download and install.
I was some suspiecious because I have this problem of unresponsive keyboard allways counter attaking champions (not when against minions or monsters) for that reason I had arribed to a conclusion it was a cheat, bug, or something, specially because it use to happen with players that seems to be over-ranqued to me (overpowered and with gold, silver, platinum levels or so on).
I loss my graphics adaptor card a mount ago and was early blaming my crappy on board video for the issue, but it call my atention when I noticed that it happen only against champions, never with minions or monsters.
It's great to know Riot is working on it.

What if you've deleted Discord from your computer entirely and you still can't click with your mouse or use your keys in game? Would my issue somehow be something other than this Discord crap?
The only way I can play is if I start my client in Admin mode.
League really just needs to just its own in game voice chat. Ive been playing since season 2 and i find a game that's based around teamwork and communication not having voice chat is really just pathetic at this point. step it up rito.

When I go into the settings of Discord, overlay isn't there. Is there another way to solve this?
I don't use 3rd party apps, but I have a problem where I can't control my champion, or they don't respond when I click or use abilities. Only has been occurring within the last few days. My internet connection is stable, and my ping and fps don't change when this happens. Suspiciously, this happens most frequently when I click anywhere near the enemy tower. I can't change my champion's course and I've died multiple times because I can't redirect my champion. Another strange thing was I re-installed the game, and it worked perfectly for 1 day. Then the problem reemerged in a ranked game, and I couldn't rely on my champion to follow my inputs. Also, I have no problems running other games (DOTA 2, WOW).
my problem was i was playing a game suddenly it lagged badly and crashed my game so i quited and assumed that if i restart my league it will be fix now im logging in my league and it wont open it said maybe problem with wifi so i checked my wifi and there were no problem with it.now i cant open my acc so what am i suppose to do?do i get low queue?or nothing will happen?

I have the same issue as @Automated Riven. The only exception is I don't even use discord

lost a ranked game due to this bug and im pissed. had to open mid because it didnt count as an afk

i had this issue recently where my cursor would disappear in game but would still work. been using discord for a long time for other stuff and there was never a problem. discord would just sit in the background, and i never changed any settings so the overlay option was always on but i never saw it in game cuz my friends and i were using skype instead for a while. disabling the overlays in discord didnt help though. i had to switch the game to windowed mode to fix it for me. just throwing more info out there
Oh God, that was me last night in the ranked game that got me demoted!! It's happened randomly for two days in a row and I've had to reboot the computer only to find a remake plus reports. Of course Riot will say it's my fault.
I'm still unable to use my keyboard and mouse, I do not use Discord, anyone know what I can do to fix this. My keyboard and mouse works for everything else.
