chat restriction

Look I don't really care about the chat restriction but I was honor level 5 </3 and I would at least like to know why I was punished even and the other player wasn't. I believe I was only rude to the intentionally feeding player. If you are stuck in a close game for 50 minutes with a player that is intentionally trying to let the other team win it becomes frustrating. I only have my chat but the Twisted Fate didn't say much, just threw some minor insults and started stealing some and executing to jungle minions, then walking down mid lane to die. He ended up with 17 deaths, but the enemy team started to ignore him in favor of team fighting our team which actually let him right click towers and at least let him get some objectives late game.

Here we invade and I see their team coming, it went fine, just exclaiming worry about them contesting it.

Here I say something sarcastic but it was at least constructive criticism. If I was incorrect in my analysis he could say why or just ignore me, it wasn't that inciting.

This is where the twisted fate started calling me retarded. I ask him why I am wrong, and he just continues to call me retarded.

Here I ask them to report the Twisted fate after he starts to intentionally throw the game which is against the summoner code. I want to surrender at 15 minutes to save time and avoid the 4v5 but my team refuses.

Here the Gangplank defends the Twisted fate executing in jungle for some reason. I was behind early so maybe it was because I didn't gank much yet.

Here some of our team is doing well so I give up on surrendering and try to win with them. Twisted Fate continues to run it down mid lane with minions or uses his ultimate to die faster. most of this chat is just comments on how the game is going and exclaiming how close some fights are.

Here the enemy team does some light banter and says they are going to report me for deleting some of their carries. I respond in kind.

Here after 50 minutes I'm a little more toxic, but the game is close and it just makes it more frustrating that the twisted fate is just right clicking down a lane, making us fight 4v5. He stops intentionally feeding at this point and at least gets some objectives but the damage is done and being stuck in a game for this long with this toxic player is infuriating.

Yes, I curse a lot, but 9/10 of it is just interjections on how close some fights are, or light hearted banter. If players are offended by this, there are options to censor chat or they can mute me. I typed more than usual this game because players were name calling me for giving constructive criticism (even if it was a bit sarcastic) without even trying to tell me why I was wrong (making me a better player). The 4 times I was inappropriate in my opinion was when I said "stfu" after they called me retarded, 2 times telling Twisted Fate to group at the end after 50 minutes of him intentionally feeding, and post game which I could have articulated better. If I was punished for "fk" or the other interjections I used I would like to know so I can refrain from using them anymore. However, I do believe that is redundant since league offers great options to avoid getting offended from cursing and since so many players do curse it doesn't seem like a reported-able offense unless you are using curse words to insult people. Or did I just go slightly too far at the end? I did let frustration get the better of me but I think 50 minutes of someone trolling you can make lots of people angry.

Ok lets go through this one at a time. Not that you were specific but I'll try and figure it out.

Come on, whats wrong with a tiny bit of shit talking? I gave one sarcastic comment at the beginning but at least it was constructive on building teamwork, telling him he needs early game pressure and to follow on his champion next time. It was very soft flame and in no way inappropriate. He just calls me retarded, which doesn't have any positive intentions or outcomes and is so offended that anyone could have any criticism of his gameplay, he intentionally feeds.

At the beginning I thought we were surrendering at 15 minutes so I made sure everyone was aware of the troll in game to report him. When my team refused to surrender I focused on winning with them and started to ignore the intentional feeder. It was when the Intentional feeder met the enemy team's other lanes when they made comments and asked what was going on. I told them the situation and they expressed their sympathy for having an intentional feeder on my team. Also remember this is a 50 minute game, so its not like I said all these comments in a row, this is me watching him run it down mid another 10 times after our team is winning almost every fight. And the time I said "he's inting, its gonna be funny when we still win with this tf, so bad he can't troll correctly" in my opinion I'm encouraging my other teammates to keep trying. Winning a 4v5 is trying and difficult when playing against players of similar skill level so I was hoping to keep their spirits up. But again, it is not like this is super offensive. I didn't curse at him, I didn't say anything about his mother, I just insulted his behavior of intentionally feeding which is against the rules anyway.

What is bad about reminding people to report someone? The enemy team bot lane or top lane might not know he was intentionally feeding or trolling, and my own bot lane might not either if they weren't paying attention. I want these players to be reported so they can be suspended. Having someone intentionally feed even on the enemy team ruins the fun for me and probably every single other player. And when the other lanes on the enemy team asked what was going on 30 minutes into the game, that proves they didn't even realize there was an intentionally feeding player on our team. So if we had surrendered at 15 minutes, there would have been fewer people to report a player that is ruining the game for 9 other players.

I don't know how to comment on this one. I never said he hurt my feelings and I specifically said he didn't say much in my introduction. I am not trying to frame the player for anything he didn't do and intentionally left his name out. He called me retarded and I asked him what was wrong with what I said. He called me retarded a few more times and stopped speaking. He pretty much only intentionally fed at that point. If some slightly sarcastic comment I made hurt his feelings that much, he had the option to mute me. I CAN'T MUTE INTENTIONALLY FEEDING. I can't turn off his character, kick him from game, or take over his role. I have no options counter him ruining the game. I can only watch as he slowly walks back to lane to die again. I typed some mild insults to someone breaking a rule that has zero options to deal with. And to be fair, there needs to be some consideration other factors in the game. Many of the comments I made were light hearted jabs because of the enemy talking crap to me. Another factor is time, I was stuck in the game for 50 minutes. Having someone troll you for 50 minutes even in real life can make plenty of people lash out.

Thank you for your input, if you have anything else to add I would like to hear it, but you still haven't convinced me. I would like more specific comments on what exactly I did that is punishable. If sarcasm is a punishable offense, I may have to delete the game because that is the only way I know how to communicate lol.

I am not excusing his attitude, im just saying your's wasn't acceptable. If you want to give constructive criticism don't use sarcasm, it comes of as passive aggressive. Dosen't matter how "soft" your flame was, its still flaming. He called you retarded and all you had to do was report him

you should had stopped at "hes Inting", you spent a decent amount in the provided chat complaining about him. you should just have reported him once the game was over.

1: one report is enough 2: asking for people to report someone is against the rules, other players can report him themselves 3: you didnt remind, you ASKED people to report

he called you a retard and instead of muting him you got hostile. the Twisted Fate as a score of 6/17/7 and almost all his deaths are on the enemy side a report would have potentially put a game suspension on his account. (not to mention he also flamed)

If you absolutely cant control your chat Behavior, i suggest you mute everyone. Hope you at least give a shot at reforming before quitting the game

Im not trying to convince you are in the complete wrong, just that you Behavior was against the rules

Alright, the not asking people to report others is fine, a little stupid but whatever. The enemy team jokingly told us to report our teammates and our gangplank asked to report me and the twisted fate, so I'm not sure how they can stay consistent with it without punishing half the people that play this game but if they want to try and enforce this rule good luck to them.

But if sarcasm is a reportable offense I'll just get chat restricted again. Shit talking is half the fun of most games and as long as it doesn't go too far it's fine. Most the time players talk shit back and we laugh and have a good time like the enemy team this game. Why should our game experience come second to the the game experience of these fragile snowflakes. If people are too proud to receive any kind of jab at their video game skills they can just mute me. What is the point of the mute button if people don't use it? Why do I need to be held accountable to some people's delicate egos when there are plenty of options to cushion it?

But I digress. You're not a riot employee, so no point in arguing about the legitimacy of rules. Thanks for your input.
