well the whole story is still here, but here's an update: i ended up sending a ticket in and talking to yet another wonderful rioter, they agreed that while it was an honest mistake, it was still a mistake. i got off with a 25 game chat restriction and a pretty good lesson. dont. repeat. slurs. seems simple, but if you dont wanna get banned dont use slurs in any context. also, if the rioter whose name i cant remember because im a bad person who also mains soraka sees this, i love you

and yeah learned a pretty good lesson so anyone who said ima toxic troll was pretty right

so here's the story, i played a game with a very toxic vi, she was constantly flaming and would not stop. when she kept flaming and threatening to report me lee sin support as troll, me and vladimir (my duo) asked her to stop. we said the normal thing, flaming does no good let's work together, and how i wasn't trolling. she then replied with, and i quote, "KYS FA- -OT!". i have taken the liberty to censor her words. i then said, "have fun getting banned" and asked the enemy team to report her. this is the only reason i can imagine i got banned, when i asked the enemy team to report her i said, "please report vi tho told me to kys and that i was a fa**ot".the only other thing that even comes close to "offensive comms" is "stfu". i don't say this braggingly, but i have cursed a lot worst in league. in fact, i've already been suspended for the same reason as vi. i learned my lesson and decided, it's much better to get to play league, then insult the people who play it by being extra toxic. there is no other use of profanity, no use of offensive language or wording, no other reason that the machine would decide to ban me. the only probable conclusion is that someone, likely the salty vi, reported me as well. the report wouldved said something around the lined of,"Sexy Fish Bio said kys fa- -ot to me". the system would see the word but not the context and decided to ban me. this is completely unjust! not only did i not use any kind of offensive language, i was just telling the enemy team what VI, emphasis on VI, did to me. after the game i got two notifications, one saying that my report lead to a penalty, and another saying that i was banned. im now sitting on, yet another, 14 day suspension. the first was deserved, the second is a mistake. i've included my comm report below so the people can review it, please pick through it and tell me if you can find any reasonable reason that i would be banned. i've already sent in my ticket saying mostly the same thing asking for a review, i have not yet received a reply. i'm hoping that by posting on the boards i can raise awareness and get others opinions. i have censored any profanity in the comms, rest assured vi did not take the same liberty.

There is no reason to ever ask for reports on someone else, and there is especially no reason to repeat toxic things they say, especially hate speech. Anyone that muted the offender had to see you repeating hate speech - you basically acted as a voicebox or proxy for them to be toxic through.

If you have never been punished before, Riot may be willing to reduce this if you contact them. That being said, it is not a guarantee as you are wholly at fault for your use of hate speech. Someone else doing it first does not make it okay.

If you have had other chat restrictions or bans before, it is extremely unlikely this gets removed or reduced.

A tip for future accounts. Rather than telling trolls to "stfu" and telling them what to do just mute them. Tell your duo to mite them too.

Muteing teolls the moment they start flaming anyone is the key. After the game you and your friends can quietly report them for negative attitude and there you go. All good.

You could always submit a support ticket and ask them to look it over manually and see if they'll reduce/remove the punishment since what probably escalated it so far was that it picked up on the zero tolerance speech you repeated. I don't know if they'll do it since I suspect they'll say you should have known better than to repeat it but who knows.

Jokes aside, yeah you fucked up by repeating zero tolerance words. You could attempt a support ticket, explaining that you didn't know it was wrong to quote someone else saying zero tolerance words, but I doubt they will do anything. Still worth a shot though!

In the future, never repeat, never call for reports. It's literally pointless. You tried to start a witch hunt, and Riot frowns upon that sort of negativity. Next time, mute them, report them, and move on to the next game. 1 report has the same effect as 9.

You repeated the things that Vi said to you, in an effort to get people to help report her. Now while I think that its kind of unfair for you to have been punished, there are a few problems with this that could lead to a punishment.

  1. If you knew it was punishable, why in gods name would you say the same stupid shit in your own chat?

  2. Multiple reports don't stack. It only takes one report from a game in order to trigger a review, and more reports beyond the first do nothing to increase the likelihood of a punishment. So asking for reports against someone is unnecessary and paired with other negative behavior can be considered harassment.

Also why are you wasting your time arguing with a toxic player about whether or not they are toxic? They're toxic, there's no point talking to them, so just mute them.

Don't feed them attention. That's like feeding pigeons. They will just come back and do the same shit over and over because they think it will get a reaction / acknowledgement from you.

Though context doesn't matter, I don't personally think you intended to tell someone to kill themselves, or were purposely spouting hate speech or homosexual slurs at someone else. If I were in your summoner shoes, I would send a support ticket. In that ticket, I would explain (with a broken heart and a contrite spirit) that you realize you shouldn't have repeated zero-tolerance phrases even if you were just trying to get Vi reported for toxicity. I would also politely request your punishment status be reviewed, and if possible lowered a tier. Honesty and kindness goes a long way in this world - yes, even with riot.

And ultimately, the worst they can tell you is "no", in which case you're no worse off than you are right at this moment.

P.S. One other thing you could do in the future, is instead of repeating 'exactly' what was said:

"pleas report vi tho told me to kys and that i was a fa- -ot"

You could always paraphrase:

"would you mind reporting vi? She told me to end my life and used a gay slur"

And then don't harp in it. You say what you need to say and then just let it be. Yet, as others have said, there's really no need to even gather reports. Your own report is sufficient. Might be best to just 'mute, report, and move on' as they say.

You deserved to be punished. Depending on your ban history probably not permanent ban. You contributed to a negative environment and called for reports which are both punishable offenses.
