Dishonest players threatening to report me

Hey Riot,

I have a question to ask about false reports from players.

So, today 11/5/2017 I was playing Gnar at top lane in normals and I was lagging really bad ( my ping and fps is stable but my screen froze every 10 second. I am assuming something is happening in riot, perhaps updates for season 8?) Anyways, one of the players was toxic and he(MF) is playing in a Trio team with Shen, Xerath and they threatens to report me because I was lagging so hard and playing bad at top lane. WIll I get banned for these false reports? (I am not even toxic at all)

My suggestion to League of Legends report system.

  1. There should be a penalty for false reports.
  2. Can we report someone that is being dishonest and threatening other players?

The system has the ability to verify false / valid reports.

False reports are discarded.

Calling for reports can be considered as harassment and people have been punished by it.

No you won't get banned for false reports. You're only punished for your chat and actions.

Players can be punished for calling for reports, especially when done so in a harassing manner.

It's technically possible, but incredibly unlikely.

  1. Can we report someone that is being dishonest and threatening other players?

Yes. Threatening other players is a means of harassment, and is absolutely punished (assuming they are themselves reported).
