Honor is League is Ruining the Game

So, this is a typical story, from a typical player. Literally pluck anyone out of the pool of millions of people who play this game and you'll hear a similar story.

Honor in League of Legend is busted and (especially with the introduction of clash) unfair.

My story begins in late August, 2017. I was given a 2 week suspension because the enemy Lee Sin decided to flame me and I responded in kind; got my team to head hunt him in his jungle and bm him. It was toxic, it was unkind, it was League of Legends in a nutshell.

I then moved to a new account where I reached honor level 4 before switching back to my main. My main was now Honor 0. No worries, I'll just wait until the end of season reset and I'll be fine. 6 Months of continually playing and receiving honors and come January... no reset, still Honor 0.

Holy moly, that's lame. Oh, well... I'll keep playing and hopefully it will improve.

Fast forward to June 2018 and my Honor is at Level 1 step 2 of 3 and Clash has been announced (albeit cancelled due to what ever reason). Almost at Honor 2 and I have two games in which my team flames me and puts continuous abuse in my direction. I respond as most players do when confronted with berating neanderthals and cuss them out for doing the same thing to me. Low and behold, a chat restriction.

Here we go again. Stuck in Honor 0 for the next 30 years of my life. The prospect of hitting Honor 2 and playing in the eventual release of clash a distant goal set for my grandchildren to reach.

If you haven't figured out the point here it's that Honor is TOO HARD to build up and the punishments are TOO EASY to receive. This is a game the incites the deepest of rage and some of the best feelings alike. However, cutting off portions of the game due to behavior is ridiculous. everyone, and I mean EVERYONE has flamed someone in this game. It is an expected part of League of Legends. Making the requirement for Clash Honor Level 2 and then making Honor 2 basically impossible to reach once you have been dishonorable at one point in your life is stupid.

There are so many people I know that feel the same. We come onto League after a hard day or a stressful argument and then we're met with trolls and troglodytes insulting us or throwing games, feeding, being abusive. We respond to defend ourselves and maybe say too much and then WHAM! Banned, Chat restriction, no Clash for you.

Honor should be something you can see progress in so that there is more incentive to work towards being an Honorable player. Otherwise, when you feel like nothing will help, what is the point of not responding to that troll that picked Talon support and went 0/8/1 coming out of lane when he tells you you're trash?

Respond if you feel the same and you're also suffering from the Hell that is Honor 0.

I mean, if you have positive chat and not flame you can actually climb out of 0 fairly quickly.

The stats don't lie; most accounts never get punished.

It's also been confirmed that even if you aren't getting punished, that doesn't mean you're making progress towards climbing out of honor 0. Valid reports can happen against your account that are too minor to warrant punishment. People who actually reform and start being positive in game don't have this issue. That's the truth.

Most players don't respond when they are flamed. Just don't. Mute and report, that's your move. There's a misconception among the more negative side of the community that everyone is like them. That isn't the case. You can choose not to flame, and you'll climb out easily if you do.

I could underatand if it was 1 offense. But you admitted to being restricted numerous times. Thats not the system, thats YOU. You even shift blame away from yourself. And as such, youll find no sympathy here.

No one I know who plays this game been stuck in honor 0 with an "Honorable Behavior". Everyone and anyone can easily get out of unhonorable if they simply don't show any negativity. But if you get reports due to any negativity or toxicity, then you're not honorable. At all. In general.

Want to improve, then don't be negative or toxic. At all. Period.

Climbing honours is only hard when you keep getting validly reported, which your chat restriction has proved that you were getting validly reported.

dude, I have a buddy that I duo with who gets super pissed all the time, however when he rages he never rages at people. He rages about shit. And he has honor level 3 or some shit.

I have never recieved a punishment across any one of my accounts in 9 years. its really not hard to not be a dick.

Dude... how toxic are you?

I flame my teammates a lot. I'm passive aggressive. I call them retarded and idiots at times. They call me names as well. I consider myself pretty average w/ the levels of NA toxicity.

Some days I'm friendly as hell, sometimes I'm a shit bird.

My point is. I'm honor level 4 and I get reported sometimes every other game - but so do my teammates.

So either you're doing it wrong. Or you're -really- toxic. Like worse than me.

Um what? typical story? respond as most do? what world do you live in?

Most of the players I play with just mute and move on. Only the most toxic start cussing out people. There is no excuse, you got what you deserved. Man up.

Getting punishments is not that easy though. Even a chat restriction is kinda hard to get, let alone a permaban, which is almost impossible.

I hear ya....one of my alts has been honor level 0....check point 0....for over 8 months now( i play it about twice a day).....I have just stopped caring about honor as the system they have is arbitrary and completely subjective.

I do feel like all riot does is punish toxic players instead of try to make the community more positive you can see just by typing good luck, have fun at the start of the game. or by saying in champ select let's have fun you'll get responses like what is fun? is this league?

the community doesn't become more positive with this honor system.. it just shoves players out who lashed out a few times and makes them not care any more
