I'm trying to get friends to play LoL with me again, but they refuse until the game is strickly emote/ping based communication between players. I think it would be the best thing for this game to just remove the ability to chat in game altogether. I mean, you really don't have to say a word anymore with all of the pings and emotes nowadays. Chat is such an unwanted feature to this game.
Just /muteall and you have the same effect. It's like someone that doesn't like pickles not ordering a burger even though they can order it without pickles.
I use chat for strategy beyond what pings can accurately convey =(
Your friends being too emotionally fragile to dare even risk reading text that might say they are a bad at a game is not sufficient reason to deny me or others the ability to coordinate a gank with my top laner or to have fun and have a laugh at the events of the game with other people I meet in solo queue. Their personal deficits should not be an obligatory burden on everyone else.
No worries summoner! There is a "mute all" function that you can trigger every game and you can set it so that you never here the enemy team at all. Pregame chat is still there, but you never have to here anyone in game.
I think your friends should go play Wizard101 on Menu Chat only then.
Slash. Mute. All. Done. Get out.
Chat may be unwanted to you and your friends but it's not gonna be removed from the game just because a disgruntled few would choose to abuse it. Either you and your friends are just gonna have to learn to suck it up and deal with it or just mute all at the start of every match.
tell them to muteall or just pick up the chat window with their mouse and move it ouf of the screen
I agree, make team chat a menu based option.
