Perma chat ban

I don't know if this has been here before (probably has been) but I think there should be perma chat band and not permanent game bans. Why you ask? Seems kinda stupid. Those flamers deserve to be punished! Wel yeah, but normally there are more than flamer and normally only one of those flamers is getting reported. And more importantly if you have been using a LOT of money on league of legends and then get their aco%%%% banned and end up losing hundreds of dollars.... and yeah Summoners code this and that... we all necer read that but agreed to it.... but sometimes if you are a person who really likes to win you can't be "all cool". SO, why not add permanent chat ban? Those toxic people can continue to play and buying skins BUT can't flame! That is a win-win Situation!!

Riot tried this with (near) indefinite chat restrictions.

A person was capable of constantly building up chat restriction games every time they showed poor behavior.

Needless to say, some players reached such high numbers that they gave up ever using the chat for anything other than insulting other players. And since they already felt like they were going to be chat restricted forever, they didn't care about the few more games that was added.

And for some, when they couldn't chat, resorted to trolling to annoy other players.

Sooo then a permanent chat would be good? No? And I am saying that maybe in some cases a permanent chat ban would be better than a permanent account ban... and some people actually (like myself) WANT A permanent chat ban

The core issue remains unresolved when you permanently restrict/remove someone's chat.

By the time someone reaches the perma-ban state, they are informed multiple times that poor behavior in chat is unacceptable and will net them punishments.

They show poor behavior anyway. They showed both a desire to annoy/harass teammates, and a lack of self-control.

I seriously doubt that permanently removing chat from these players would solve the problem in most situations. Instead, they would just do other things to intentionally piss off teammates (once they get annoyed), since the chat outlet is no longer available.

Things like;

Ping spam Stealing CS Letting them die without assistance Using abilities that can hinder teammates (such as anivia wall or bard ult) and so forth.

Which all of the above are extremely hard for an automated system to catch, but are just as problematic.

Actually, the majority of "flaming" I've seen in this game is a result of someone trying to win and getting pissed at someone else feeding or trolling. Not typically the type of people that intentionally feed on their own.

Sorry, but "trying to win" and "flaming" don't fit in the same sentence unless it is "People who are flaming are actually not trying to win anymore".

Just going by my experience bud. You can easily flame and still try to win. In my experience, the people who get "flamed" are the ones that are continuing to all in the enemy while being 0-4.

Well yeah... if you are 0-4 yasuo mid and still try to all in the enemy even thou you are 1 vs 3 it's kinda hard to just say: unlucky maybe next time?" So permament chat would also good in those situations that you CANT say anything not so nice

If you knew how much flaming decreases your chances to win, you would not do it at all if you were really serious about winning. That 0-4 player will not magically start to play better if you tilt him even further.

That 0-4 player will not magically start to play better if you tell him "It's ok, you can do it!" Because if he were worried about doing better, he wouldn't be 0-4 and still all ining the enemy in the first place.

Well how about this sentence: "I really want to win and if someone in my team feeds on purpose cus forst zed got banned and he did not get mid and flames everyone and I flame him back?" :) how about that?

I would congratulate someone who said that for having the logical and reasoning capabilities of a four-year-old throwing a tantrum.

It's the same as "but moooooom, he started it!"

Pretty much this. Im honestly under the belief that riot is manipulating a lot of their player behavior statistics

I even wonder, is chat ban a punishment? I wouldn't mind having chat permamently shut down, so I don't have to listen to people flaming each other.

vOmvbrawfU1 votes

You can just mute everyone?

Dêcoy1 votes

I know and I do it. It would be just nice to have that all the time, instead of typing it every game. Im just lazy~~

Loislurso1 votes

Yeah. Idk why Rito can't have permanen chat ban... would be actually a good thing

Loislurso1 votes

Well you still maybe say something not so nice if your adc flashes into 3 guys while having 200 HP or of your 0-6 yasuo mid goes all in eventhou it's 1 vs 3. maybe then you wanna ask if something is wrong? Or if your perfect team suddenly decides that now we just all walk one by one into the enemy team until they have enough gold and kills as we and then we lose... then it's kinda hard just to say "unlucky"

Loislurso1 votes

Same. I would want my chat being completely off... 99% of the time the chat is useless. The pings are all we need especially after the new ping system
