How do you report someone with a message they sent directly to you?

So it was just your classic flamewar about which champ is more broken (Enemy and vs our and ) We won the game, gave a "ggez" and then left. Enemy friended me, I accepted because I wanna see what reaction he has out of this, and told me to do something every hater would say, then immediately unfriended me. I wanted to report him but I didn't really have any idea how, other than reporting him via after the match. I forgot to screenshot the msg too. Any advice on what to do or did he get away with this?

Support ticket is how you would report someone outside the post-game report.

People's private chat has gotten some into hot water but the tolerance for it is much higher than game chat since it is a opt-in experience.

You opted in to starting a private friend message with someone you knew was behaving poorly in your game. He isn't getting away with a damn thing, you opened the door. Why?

Full disclosure, you can't (atleast not directly).

Generally you don't want to accept friend requests from angry or disgruntled players you don't know. You could try opening a ticket, but I'm not sure what the outcome of that would be.

If people cant get banned for saying things outside game chat, that's fine. I still enjoy feeding off of the anger people give me and I wouldn't gaf if I couldn't do anything about it. I only like reporting just for the satisfaction from the fact that they got their account locked for a few days.

even if you had a screenshot of his friendchat messages, its pointless. in client you can say whatever you want (outside of pre and postgame chat). if you had an euw acc i would proof this by telling you to add me so i can spam all the 0 tolerance words to you and you could report me. nothign would happen

I don't think that's right. You can still be banned if your out-of-game comms are extremely negative.

why on a smurf? if you are so confident, use your main. do it with your jennifer main, I might be tempted to make an euw account for you to try. Are you willing to risk your main for that belief? Making an euw account and report you cost me nothing but a little time. I'm in if you are, but only if you use your main. Nothing would happen to your main right?

i mean why does it matter what account? it matters if the support punished in client behavior or not.

but youre right i could do it on my main. but then again i can only talk from past experience (season 8) so there might be a chance they got kicked in the ass and now do their job for real. so i guess you got me there as it would be silly to lose my main over an experiment.

but at least its about the result. not the account used. (also yay someone knowing my main <3 it will be unbanned from the boards eventually)

The bar is not "extremely negative". The bar is "potentially illegal, phishing, hacking, scam, etc".

Riot does not police private communications over their client, and if they started to do so, they would run into quite a few legal issues in various locales around the world. This is the same reason that Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc - will all tell you "just block them" unless there is something illegal or hacking/scamming related going on.

There's no way to really report a PM. That's why everybody does it. I guess you could take it to support.. but the counter argument being, you accepted their friend request of your own will and therefore its kinda your fault.
