Well in my personal opinion they shouldn't perm ban over saying stuff in chat. They have mute, you get chat restrictions three times. Then a 14 day ban. Why dont they do a 14 day mute. Then a perm mute if it continues. I dont understand why hate needs to be spread even further, if you want to stop the hate. Silence it, dont ban it so they can make another one on a different proxy just to spite you and continue the toxic behavior. Like honestly Rito muting is the best solution to the toxic problem. You cant control your emotions ban permute. Problem solved. People stay on the account with all there stuff and a useless ban isnt in action. Make banning for the cheaters. Make the game better dont just push it away so it can come back stronger. Thats just my thoughts on this topic. Two accounts banned for just talking. Like honestly. Don't give the players such a huge aspect of player reporting. It ruins things so quickly. People report in the heat of the moment. They wont remember them 15 minutes later they will move on and enjoy the game. The game is toxic because of how compettitive it is. Having a anger problem isnt the matter, its just the instinct of who will win. Who cares how the act, you dont like it dont ban it. This isnt anarchy!

Riot already tried long term chat restrictions, most of the affected people turned to gameplay trolling.

They then deserve the perm ban then. But I simply chat, I dont turn to ending a game. Im very compettive. I don't turn to "running it down mid" I turn to telling my team to fix there feeding. And I get banned for it. In the sense of a perm mute, is for the people who talk and obtain a game ending restriction on there account just for talking. If you disrupt a game in the sense of feeding; cheating. that deserves punishment. But talking?!? that doesnt make sense, like honestly. Say you went to go hang out with your friends, and you called your friend a loser. Then a police officer came up to you and said "you're arrested for disrupting the world with your voice." it doesn't make sense. I get a mute cause you dont want it so you mute it. You dont kick them out of the game just over talking. You want to keep your player base but control it.

If you were harassing someone in a restaurant then they would kick you out. It is the same here.

Right now very few people are banned for toxicity. It is only after repeatedly showing that they have no interest in reforming that they are banned.

It is not your job nor your right to tell your team to "fix their feeding." They already know they are doing poorly, they don't want or need you to tell them. If you have constructive criticism that is fine, but just telling them that they suck has no place in this game.

The history of this game and other games have shown that long term mutes just make the situation worse most of the time. There are some that would be fine with just a mute, but the impact on the community would be very negative overall were this re implemented.

You term is harassing someone, so the same goes for someone that is a law giver. Say they prevent the toxic behavior so much that they become it. As in they are so closed minded that they wont help the world get better they instead prevent it from flourishing. Toxicity is in everyone. Face it, it cant be prevented. You let in it, prevent them from spreading it and they will stop. Kicking them away from it will just let them go to a different place and be toxic there. Stopping it at the source is what will happen. And to the comment about the restaurant, they dont kick you out buddy. They warn you first. And in your case kicking out a consumer is the best option for this state of the game? A player who just talks. And it helps me if I feed, I had friends tell me to stop and I tried harder to fix the problem. And saying "hey dude you suck" is constuctive criticism. Its just a blunt form of it. You are so close minded to this topic its annoying. You need to understand both sides of the situation at hand. I get how people want to prevent negitive behavior but you can't you embrace it an help it become positive.

Your example is bad. Its more like going to friends house, call him loser and his parents kick u out.

But even then a normal parent wont just kick a kid out, they will ask why they did it and try to resolve it not just kick them out.

Actually to further prove your point i have a friend who had 15 consecutive chat restrictions in seasons 4 and 5 that resulting in no change of their behavior. It was only when they began handing out bans that he got 3 accounts banned and finally left because he had no intention of reforming.

Some people acutually want to play the game and they take anger out on the players, because sometimes its them and sometimes its the players. Muting will resolve the problem with that; gameplay trolling yall can have whatever you want. I never trolled. I only told people why they sucked. I know why I got my ban I dont regret it either, Only thing that would have helped me was a mute, Which if you'd like me to I can give you the support ticket I made before I got the second account banned on. I attempted an appeal to reform. But they pushed it off. Its like saying "half the people dont care, so all of them dont care." I care about playing the game not the people in it. Ill play as a team and forget about them after. I only used reporting for cheaters. Never for toxic behavior. Cause it was flame, thats why its called flame. They are angry at the moment not permanently. Open your mind to other sides and you will understand. I have tried saying this so much. I get why you guys feel it shouldnt be exusable. But you wont go into the players minds of trying to reform but not getting the chance to or not getting the right punishment.

Punishments Should go with the problem at hand. For instance. Say I stole, what punishment would I get? Community serive or a warning. Now say I told someone to shove it? What would I get? community service? Why would that be fair? I should get told to shut the fuck up. And then a mute. Not the same punishment for an actual problem.

I don't know man.. Riot shouldn't have to permanently mute you because you cannot refrain from typing stupid angry crap. That's a problem with your attitude that you're responsible for so I say the ban option is perfectly fine for those repeat offenders who just cannot control themselves.

This may sound good on paper but... it is not. Overwatch had the same idea for a while - they tried to mute any form of communication of a player instead of banning them. Guess what? When a toxic player can't be toxic in chat, they find other ways to let out their toxicity. Read: Griefing, Inting.

And as I stated then they get a ban. But some people are just verbally toxic. They arent all forms. its called attempting to fix a problem. They have millions for the game and they dont fix the community. They can add more then three steps and make the banning system more drawn out and planned. They dont combat the problem, they just kick it out. They dont try to help the community they just kick the bad people out. Its simply anarchy.

This is just postponing the inevitable. In Riot's words, a permanent ban is to those who are beyond hope of reform... I don't see why players who don't take 3 cues (10-game chat restriction, 25-game chat restriction and 14-day suspension) will take the fourth.

Also, do keep in mind that Riot's systems are not perfect, and it's very hard for them to get to perfection (if that thing is even possible). Their best and most reliable system is the Instant Feedback System (aka the chatlog scanner), so they use it to its fullest potential. Systems that tell apart players that have bad games from players that intentionally feed? Not so much. In that case, again I don't see a reason to push a working system onto a less reliable one.

They have millions for the game and they dont fix the community. They dont try to help the community they just kick the bad people out. Its simply anarchy.

Okay tell me this if they really wanted to fix the toxic problem they would hire players from the player base to go through the support ticket, and then decide if they deserve the certain topic, and saying someone is past the point of reforming is so fucking stupid it heats me. Its like saying no one can change over time and help. That is so fucking stupid ahhh honestly think of that comment too then. I explained why it is Ritos fault. Now tell me why people CANT change ever. So just kick them from the game and forget about what will happen. Just push one account aside and let them make a new one.

@"Hire players", I'm sure you know how the old Tribunal works. (No, it wasn't hired people, but the same argument holds true) Well, it worked (to a certain extent), when the playerbase was around a million players... With over a hundred million players, and hell-knows-how-many-reports-sent-per-day, this just isn't realistic. Nowhere near it.

Also, I certainly agree that people can change over time. (That's why I just wanted to phrase it as Riot did, and not as an opinion of mine) That being said, I believe that's why Riot's policy is to "ban accounts" and not "ban players". This, in addition to the fact that (in my opinion) a 14-day suspension is not nearly enough time for a person to "change", as nor is a 2 or 3 month suspension, makes a permaban (again, to the account) the best solution. Yes, a one or two year ban being the maximum threshold may be better than a permanent ban. Actually, I'd prefer it. But being realistic here, for a player that gets this punishment a permanent ban or a two years ban is all the same.

######(Also, I may be too stupid, but why exactly is the community's toxicity Riot's fault again? All I can find is the "I explained", but the explanation is nowhere to be seen)

Rito doesnt prevent anything they push it away, they dont help it they "combat it" They dont handle it in a professional way, They dont help the player reform. Like they say needs to happen. They use AI to go through triggers and filters and whatever matches toxic behaivor will be punished. And to reply to your Supports sent per-day well week-days its around 40-50k and weekends its 60-70k. They dont have as many as bigger games. And they want to solve things with permbans. I play around 10 games. and this is the only one I played with this heavy of a ban system. Its pointless cause making an account is free and all it needs is an email. And bam a free account to be "toxic" on. Mute chat toxicity. You seem to not undetstand that. Have more phases of the system. Save banning for a good reason. Tpying isnt a good reason AT ALL. If you tell players to "mute it" they need to have muting in the game itself. Or an option to turn player tpying off entirely. Back to the reason rito doesnt care. They dont have an option to turn off player tpying. You cant turn off the chat. I make a ticket about it and they told me to "drag it off the screen" what do you say to that? Is that lazy or what? or are you going to defend them on that too?

Riot already tried this and it doesn't work. Players will find other means to be toxic and Riot doesn't want to take that chance again. Once they're proven to be toxic verbally, then they're just as toxic in in-game. Riot given players enough with 4 chances. Should be more than enough to reform. Also, we need the chat to communicate, it's one of the most vital communications for Moba games. Just because you don't have self-control over your emotions doesn't mean we need to cut off communication.

Chat communication has always been the most vital way to improve the team gameplay. But this game takes patience and self-control. If people don't have these two things, then this game is certainly not for them. The chat isn't the problem. It's the players who join this game agreeing to a Term of Use they don't even read. That's the problem. If you can't communicate with your team without verbally abusing, then you shouldn't be typing at all. If you can't help yourself, then help the community by not playing and Riot doesn't want anyone like that here anyway. Hence the ban.

When rito tries they dont really attempt anything ive been around since season 2. They dont really care about the reformity of a player they care about who makes the most income for them. And in this case its the spineless consumers who pay in america. And chat isnt a vital part. Pining is in the game for a reason. and if they wanted to add communication they would add speaking. But they dont. Thats another point aswell if you want to be toxic say it to there face and have them reply. Dont type it say it. And I've had an account that did nothing but baby people and help and it got a perm ban aswell because people thought I was being sarcastic. You cant win in this system currently. I dont even play this shit game anymore. I play OverWatch and they dont care about banning. I can be as toxic as I please and they dont care. The system is broken and they have no intention to fix it. I came here to have a fun conversation but you guys are so close minded its stupid.

But what am I thinking it is NA side of League, where monkies flourish.

I've been here much longer than you. I am still on the same account. They have shown me they still care every time I speak to them or when I ask them for help. The system itself is not even complex and it works beautifully. As for the rest of your permabanned accounts, I doubt you did any such thing, because Riot is always right on track, and more than willing to fix the error if it's on their end. So you did something to earn those bans.

I'm glad you don't play because this game is clearly not for you. We don't welcome toxic players. Why they're banned really and not willing to ever change that policy! Which is AWESOME! Yea Overwatch is bleh, but League is better. League cares about their community and pretty much takes out the bad apples. So the players who have been keeping their account comes with awesome rewards and future rewards that haven't been released. Why I am here going on my 8th year of happily playing League of Legends. Because this game is great and worth being around for another 8 years! Because I know how to keep my same account. :)

The thing is if it didn't work the first time why would it work this time around? Especially since people know about it they would just screw it all up and basically fake being nice just to get their old account back, then either make a new account to be toxic or go on another account to do their bad deeds.
