Chat restriction and player bans.

Why do I get chat restriction after getting flamed all game for having one bad game? I defended myself. Now for 10 games i can write like 5 messages making it hard in rank to communicate. I legit got bullied in a game and now im chat restricted. One of my friends just told me he got banned for intentional feeding while going 1-1-6. This kind of punishment that heppens for no apparent reasons is starting to get on my nerves.

You say you got punished for defending yourself? Doubtful. You don't get punished for muting and reporting.

"Defending yourself" is pointless. At best it's screaming into the void, and at worst it's feeding the troll. Don't do it. Mute, report, move on.
I call bullshit on getting banned for int feeding in a 1/1/6 game.

If by "defending yourself" you mean yelling and raging at someone who started it then yes you rightfully got punished. From the Instant Feedback System FAQ:

WHY WAS I PUNISHED WHEN THE OTHER PERSON WAS WORSE OR STARTED IT!

Simply speaking, retaliation is not an acceptable or justifiable behavior. An argument between two players can easily create a negative experience for the rest of the players in the game with you. Regardless of the other player’s actions, this does not justify your own behavior. You alone are responsible for your actions within the game.If you encounter a toxic player like this, the best option is to simply report their behavior and move on.

Take this as a chance to rethink that. Fight fire with water. If someone is being overly toxic or negative or abusive towards you, mute them - that's your water. Further water is using chat sparingly and only to try and help the team's strategy.

Be glad you are asking this now and trying to improve - some people aren't as lucky and wait until they get permanently banned to come to the realization that defending yourself is not OK.

Final note - use your 5 messages wisely (you also get 1 more message every 4 mins up to 5 total banked msg). No one word messages, type out a full thought, and inform your team at the start that you won't be able to respond very frequently (so they don't start flaming you for that). It's doable, and in fact I know people who won a higher ratio of games chat restricted than they did when they weren't.
