Regarding toxicity

I have just received a two week ban for "inflammatory behaviour". Granted, I said things which definitely deserved it, but this is not what I want to focus on. This Yasuo on our team, literally trolled the entire game by leaving his lane top at level three after two deaths, then proceeding to go mid and die, then bot and leech xp and die. It wasnt tilting, it wasnt being new, any human being could tell he was INTENTIONALLY FEEDING. I, being a human being with emotions, let me frustration get to me, wanting to enjoy a game for once where this shit didnt happen literally every game said things I should not have said. Two weeks. Bam. Gotcha, I was a dick.

  Meanwhile, this yasuo said literly nothing the entire game, literally ruined the entire game with his behaviour, and then the kicker, he openly admitted to trolling in the chat logs but said "riot will never know". Lo and behold, I get a ban for loosing my cool at a player who was clearly trolling but knew how to "fly under the radar". How is this nonsense even allowed, you have players who get a ban for being human and lashing out at toxic behaviour, and you have these trolls ruining game after game but because they have not said anything "in game", they most likely go free.

Guess it turned into a mini-rant, and I guess your allowed to literally do almost ANYTHING you want as long as you don't type. I was an asshole to one person in retaliation, and he ruined the game for 9 other people the entire time. Where is the justice? I take my two-week ban with stride, but I am literally muting chat after this incidence and never typing a word. Why have chat at all when It appears to me that it is the easiest way to get a ban.

Ban justified.

What someone else did, does not excuse your behavior.

Very justified, all I'm saying is the majority of bans are chat related, and a lot of trolls "fly under the radar" by not typing, and yet ruin games for every single person in the party much the same way but receive no/little punishment. Is the goal not to reform or remove toxic players? These type of players do this literally every game and see nothing happen to them.

If you're worried about trolls who are harder to detect, FILL OUT COMMENTS when you report them. You're shooting yourself in the foot responding to them, both by RIOT punishing you and the troll laughing that they got under your skin.

Well they punished me, I deserve it. I for the next 14 days will not be toxic to anyone any more. The person in question, will however go on to ruin more and more games. Retaliatory comments, vs people who are abusing a system which doesnt detect their own toxicity and will go on to keep doing the same, thats what it boils down to for me. Either way, there is absolutely zero incentive to even type a single thing anymore, for it it works for this guy and what hes doing, it should keep me in the clear as well. Shits just flawed, whether or not I got a ban or deserve one. Typing = DEATH

None of that has anything to do with what I said. If you want them punished, give RIOT the info they need to see what happened, instead of whining on forums.

I hate stupid comments like that. Next time you are beaten to the ground during a mugging, I'll be sure to jail you when you punch back. This meme has infected modern society and is just flat wrong.

thats exactly what im saying, not for a moment am I defending my behaviour. But when I see a guy ruin game after game and then in the post-logs openly type "i admit I was completely trolling but riot will never catch me", but receive not even a chat ban on account of him not typing "trigger words", it makes me question why they have chat logs in the first place.

is this not an inherent problem with your system? People are getting 14 day bans over retaliatory comments when literly the most toxic of the toxic players who know how to get away with ruining games are out there doing what they do.

No, it's not. You are trying to place the blame everywhere else (flamers, the system, ect) to avoid admitting to yourself that YOU are the only one in control of YOU. Toxic players who are baiting you are doing it to get a reaction and hope you get banned. Why are you letting them get what they want when you could write a few sentences in a report and get them banned instead?

This isn't like a mugging where you're physically hurt. This is more like me getting into an argument with my coworker and the boss firing both of us for not conforming to the company standards. You two are fighting, you both get reported, you both get banned by scary boss RIOT. Whereas smart workers will go to the boss faster than that and get the other mofo banned and laugh.

I swear most of you need to take a class in basic logic. No, that analogy fails too. You did not get into a mutual argument in this case where both broke the rules. Instead, this is like an employee committing sexual harassment and then the harassed employee getting fired for reacting to it. Congratulations you are a rape apologist.

Let's make this clear; The OP and others like him, are NOT 'victims', they are perpetrators hence why they are being rightfully punished.

A better analogy would be; Well my car got stolen so I'm going to go out and commit 5 murders, after all... my car got stolen The behavior of others is not an excuse for your own.

I take my 14 day ban, I am not questioning it, why it was justified or wether or not i deserved it. Look, I did it, I got banned. I promise you players like him will not only ruin more games and get away with it because of "chat logs", but will over the course of their toxic behaviour, CAUSE or TRIGGER more players to become toxic. The behaviour of others is not an excuse for your own, but it sure makes it tough staying "positive" when you see instances like this over and over where nothing is being done to address what I feel is the root of the issue, Toxic frikin players who know how to play a broken system.

Guess my point is chatting is a death sentence, and that if you want to troll make sure you dont type anything because thats how you can get away with almost anything without any repercussions.

Baloney. They aren't getting mad at "five other people" they are reacting to the perp. You didn't even create a correct analogy so your syllogism broke. And yes, they ARE victims of the original REAL action. Real actions for thousands of years have outweighed words. I'll try to help you by diagramming this formally:

Original harm: Reacting harm :: Troll: Rager

Whereas you stated Original harm: Random public harm :: Troll: Rager

What are you even TALKING about??!!??! You gave a scenario in which someone was mugged and then murdered five other non related people: "Well my car got stolen so I'm going to go out and commit 5 murders, after all... my car got stolen"

"They" therefore did nothing and are NOT perpetrators. Don't be dumb. I even diagrammed the analogy for you. Did you read the diagram at all?

I don't see why you're mad, justice was served. You told someone to die in real life over a video game, and that guy lost a game because he was doing stupid stuff. I see the justice, you're just evaluating the weight of two different crimes wrongly.

He wasnt doing stupid stuff, he was trolling and ruining the game (not for the first time mind you), for every single person in the game. I called him out on it in a manner which was against the rules. Fair. I lost my cool. Meanwhile he is probably in game right now doing the same thing and the only difference was who typed during game and after. Furthermore, even if the weight of the crimes were not the same, I am now physically no longer able to do any more "damage". He is in there ruining even more games and it might be a very long time before he is even detected.

There's your problem, you're not focusing on what's important -> your own behavior that got your account suspended.

Simply mute griefers in your match and quietly report them post game, they'll get dealt with. Spewing toxic bile in team/all chat gets you punished.
