How broken does the reporting system have to be before riot actually does something about it?

So league of legends has slowly but surely turned into nothing other than a group of 6 year old girls that are offended by every single thing that leaves your mouth and you get reported for typing literally anything. So this got me thinking, lets see just how broken this retarded system is that they put in place. For the last week on my main account I have reported every single person in every single game that I have played just because why the fuck not? Riot does absolutely nothing about people who report for no reason so lets abuse the shit out of this. In a single week of doing this I got over 50 people banned for what appears to be absolutely nothing. What a fucking joke that is. These people have nobody but riot to thank for these bans too. Sure I could not be a bitch and report every single person every single game, but why shouldn't I? Every single game if you say absolutely anything that could possibly hurt anyone's feelings in any way you get reported for it and riot bans you for it. Is there a system in place for false accusations? Nope. Did riot take the easiest way out that they could find and put in some bull shit automated system that bans people for nothing at all? Yup. The real joke about this is that they do next to nothing for banning people who join a game and intentionally feed or actually do things that ruin a game. They put a mute button into this game a long fucking time ago but that wasn't enough for the care bear community. So now the game has turned to this pathetic excuse of a tampon that everyone bleeds over and nobody wins. Great job riot. Just wanted to take the time to point out what an absolutely AMAZING job you have done at fixing the community.

Before the obvious comments of "another butt hurt person that got banned is raging" or "you're obviously toxic" come flowing in, I have never been banned or even so much as had a temporary suspension. The fact that I can't play a single game without having to worry about every single thing I type is the sole purpose as to why I am writing this. It is ridiculous that you have to sensor things to the point of talking with a 3 year old in order to not get reported is beyond ridiculous.

Well, it would have to actually be broken first. :P

For the last week on my main account I have reported every single person in every single game that I have played just because why the fuck not? Riot does absolutely nothing about people who report for no reason so lets abuse the shit out of this. In a single week of doing this I got over 50 people banned

  1. Unless a player is overwhelmingly, insanely toxic, one report from you over that week would have almost no bearing whatsoever on whether or not that person gets banned.

  2. How exactly have you confirmed these 50 people have been banned?

Is there a system in place for false accusations? Nope.

Blatantly false, the entire system is designed around throwing out false reports.

Did riot take the easiest way out that they could find and put in some bull shit automated system that bans people for nothing at all?

Blatantly false, suspensions are individually reviewed by Rioters and the automated systems are consistently tested for accuracy.

Blatantly false, the systems to identify this behavior came out with patch 5.18 and have been consistently tweaked since. It just so happens that it's much harder to reliably detect gameplay toxicity than verbal toxicity, but they're working on it.

They put a mute button into this game a long fucking time ago but that wasn't enough for the care bear community.

The mute button's sole intent is to stop subsequent abuse, not prevent it in the first place.

The fact that I can't play a single game without having to worry about every single thing I type is the sole purpose as to why I am writing this.

You can view the systems in any way you want, I suppose, but the reality is that people do not get punished for nothing. I've seen _two _ confirmed cases where someone was wrongfully banned in my six years on the forums, and in both instances Riot overturned the bans.

Well the only point of your response that I suppose I can reply to is the little pop-ups that come in the middle of your screen informing you that the tribunal has taken actions against someone that you have reported. Seeing that 50 times in one week (yes I set out to create a tally every time that I saw it) kinda screams that there is something wrong with the system. There were very few times that I had any reason what so ever to report people yet I still got notifications all throughout the week multiple times a day. But really lets take a look at the logic behind the system for a second. Back in about grade one where you started to grasp that it wasn't okay to call people names what was the result? Ah everything that you have done and achieved is now no longer yours! That doesn't quite sound right to me. Sure I agree that death threats and racism and all the other serious topics should be taken as exactly that, serious. But when you get a report for verbal abuse / harassment for a comment like "top could you please stop feeding, just sit back under turret" is kinda sad. Why is nothing done about that? False accusations are treated just as severely as calling someone stupid in anything that even resembles the real world?

Anecdotal, with no proof there's really nothing to discuss in that regard.

Not really sure how this is relevant. Someone in grade one is unlikely to be constantly spamming hatred to his or her peers, and that sort of behavior is what gets players punished in League.

If this was all a player said that could be construed as negative, the report would likely be thrown out. Sure, you can get reported for it, but that doesn't mean the report will actually matter.

Calling someone names in this game is enough to have riot take absolutely everything from you? I thought I had made it obvious that I was exaggerating the point the emphasize how ridiculous it is that you can have everything taken from you for nothing.

How do you figure that this doesn't happen in league? Perhaps I am completely wrong here, I do accept that as a very valid possibility. My understanding of how this system works is that you have the entire community report people when they say anything wrong. Once this person receives enough reports you have some employee go through and read EVERY single one of the reports that has been put against this person? You have someone go through every single set of chat logs for every single game that the person has every been in? If this is actually the case then that is some impressive devotion to giving out justice where it is due.

If this is the case then it certainly requires a lot of them to get them ignored. Seeing how even at the end of the week I was getting the little popups informing me that the tribunal had taken actions against someone.

I would be completely ignorant if I didn't think that people would disagree with me. I know that people will disagree with me just as I know that people will down vote my comment. The exact same logic applies to why I know I will get reported for absolutely nothing any time that I say something that someone disagrees with. Ask other team to report someone for being toxic? Get reported yourself!

Alright, let me run a scenario by you, you get a person who has been harassing you for the entire game and they just so happen to be a duo (in a 3s) or running as a group of 4 (in a 5s) so absolutely nothing is going to be done by their friends. You are aware that your single report isn't going to do a single thing and the odds are you are just going to end up with 4 reports against you. Do you A) request the other team to also report, B) just sit back shut up and take it? or C) acknowledge that the reporting system doesn't do anything and find a better way to go about it?

Reports are calculated per game, not per report; the one person with a group of 4 has just as much reporting power as the premade.

Looks like Daen kills it again. So... what I do, is I...

a) don't flame them back. That's gets you reported b) don't ask the other team anything. According to Daen, doesn't help anyway. c) report them, and trust the system. If you report bad players, and they end up getting punished, your reports gain weight, and you are able to make an impact on the community.

So... yeah. Do that.

You could have done some research about system, before talking smack about it. It was stated many times that 1 report has same value as 2 or 3 or 4 or 9

lol In your first post you stated, that you just randomly reported every player you met in a week and 50 of them got puniched for that. And now you tell us, that a report of one person dosn't matter? I smell a lot of bullshit. Go and lie somewhere else.

I will agree only on the part that people are overly sensitive in this game. That much is true since people even report for something as small as saying something to your teammate like try to be passive, or try to coordinate with them for a gank. My personal favorite is when someone asks for a gank and has the lane pushed into the enemy tower. Its like yeah....you wonder why I won't gank for you ever.

Everything else is false to the extreme. The funnest part is you said you had a number for people that got banned. There is absolutely no way you will know who gets banned.

I think the report system seems to be working just fine. I have seen 1 person who came and posted their logs who did not deserve the perma ban. Lyte reviewed the case and reduced it to a chat ban.(Notice action was still required. This was more then a year ago before the automated ban system.)

I read a lot of the false ban posts because I find them amusing and based on the logs and reactions I agree with all of the bans.

Prove that they have a lot or even 5% false bans and I will gladly say that the report system is broken/failing.

Also just because there is a mute button doesn't mean you get to be a jerk.
