Ez was getting binded by morgana, not using W or trying to poke a rather open support/adc. Blaming minions of course. Not to say my performance was any better, but as a support i'm supposed to tank the damage. Being alistar also means a couple of bindings is next to nothing. I just noticed that Ez was not using any advantages he had, and on my side I was completely disadvantaged. Morana shield countering CC etc.

If "wtf" is an offense then R.G. has no clue what their real community is like. Was trying to give a nudge to Udyr to pick up his jungling game. One/Two drakes is worth more than a couple of ganks. Udyr was on the other team so really I was just being a friendly opponent.

Someone tried to be clever by saying "You just answered your own question", which I did not. Ahri used her communication methods to talk about Alistar, when her intent was quite likely to direct her message to the player using Alistar. I asked a question (it was unanswered, of course) and continued on with a brief explanation of Alistar's broken history in the League of Legends. By the way, Alistar had close to a 100% ban rate in (x) tournament(s).

I decided to shift the conversation into a friendly one, even though our team was getting pummeled. Asked what kind of role I should consider. Two players in chat told me a variety of: "Shut up" and "Uninstall". Of course I sent back a retaliation message. Bullies get away with bullying because of those choosing not to fight back. "Oh that 1% beating up the 99%, it's too bad those 99% were taught not to fight back! :( "

This line alone pretty much guarantees a punishment. You should consider yourself lucky you weren't bumped up to a 14 day suspension. Hate speech is one of the few things that you can do to skip punishment tiers.

Also, don't try to explain your actions. It doesn't matter what they were doing. You are fully responsible for what you do regardless of context.

Low IQ people get too hyped up by it then go on to commit violence against gays, the main problem with that word regardless of intent.

Oh okay, so it's a problem in society built by the government and it's trying to be filtered so that the issue isn't resolved? Seems appropriate. Based on history it's "always" better to hide a problem until it becomes nearly unstoppable.

Edit: In case you're interested in my definition of what "%%%got" means, it's defined as: "Fucking Maggots" because that's a funny "I'm a pissed off Sergeant" kind of attitude. It's unfortunate that many folk are too self centered and idiotic to understand that slang is exactly what it is: Slang. Undefined, definition changes from culture to culture. Just because one country is dumb enough to label slang as "Hate Speech" doesn't mean everyone in that Country thinks it's the right thing to do.

You can't just make up word definitions. That's not how language works.

That word is a deragaorty word used to belittle gays.

I know it.

You know it.

Saying your meaning means something else is...well its stupid.

%%%got itself is slang. The word came from the word "%%%ot" which meant: "A bundle of sticks". If hate speech wasn't allowed, it wouldn't be included in dictionaries. By that standard, %%%got wouldn't be in a dictionary. Therefore it would be considered slang, and have multiple definitions based on groups/cultures.

Get Dunked could be seen the exact same way as calling someone a %%%got, then. Guess you'll enjoy your 10 game chat restriction, except you won't. Because RG's never moderated properly in their lives.

You're right, the moderation for this game seems to be off a bit. If you want them to manually review your case you can submit a Support Ticket, and they can give you a 14 day or permanent ban as is normal for the use of hate speech.

When you are having a problem with someone in chat, mute them, don't stoke the fire. You become a problem yourself, and who "started it" is irrelevant. If you're unsure how you are expected to act then I suggest familiarizing yourself with the following articles;

I'd like to remind the LoL community of HotshotGG, the man who practically ran League of Legends for a multitude of years. Not to mention he's created his own team which is still competitive to this day. That man had 10x worse of an attitude each game compared to what I do occasionally.

It doesn't matter how much Riot Games paid HotshotGG to clean up his habits, the fact is one of the most influential icons of League had a bannable personality. Still didn't hold him back from becoming a professional player and an icon to many. Entertaining thousands of players.

All punishments are handled completely independently from each other. Just because someone else was "worse" doesn't make you any less at fault.

Support Tickets don't have anything listed about player behavior etc. Try again, I guess you're just as "uninformed" as I am.

It has different moderation as well as rules.

So saying get dunked son is perfectly legal because we are not currently in a competitive game.

Thus I can't tilt you into have a bad game.

Also for future reference if you want to say a bundle of sticks it actually only has 1 G not 2 fa*ot is how it's spelled.

You wouldn't call your superior officer that word at basic training, not sure why you chose to do it here but you didn't get away with it here either.

You should also be careful not to call out the red posters too much because they will come on here and elevate you to a 14 day if you talk about them after doing a 14 day worthy offense, seen it happen here 3 times already.

That word is considered as hate speech regardless of context. It's one of the only words that stays censored when chat logs are sent out for a reason.

The thing you need to look at is not from your suggested definition of any given work. There is no doubt in my mind, or the mind of anyone else that you didn't intend to call someone a bundle of sticks. Nor are we convinced that you called someone a maggot. The question from this point here after is not WHY you said what you did, but wholly WHAT you said. No one cares what a word previously means, using a word that TODAY is considered hate speech, or derogatory will get you punished.

That is the issue you are trying to gloss over, you used a word that has obvious connotation in today's society. The point you need to understand is that if you use words like that, YOU WILL GET PUNISHED. For example if i called you a Mother F%%%%%, i cannot say "Oh, well i mean that you have consensual sex with your wife who is a mother of a child". That phrase also has obvious negative connotation, its used in a very negative attitude. Again, you CANNOT redefine a word to suit your defense as long as it helps your case, no one will actually believe that you mean anything other that what people currently use to define any given word.

Defending your case by calling your insult ambiguous or trying to say that you did not define your use of the word in the original message is not a defense, see the above paragraph. People see words that you use for their common definition, this INCLUDES the slang interpretation of that word, ESPECIALLY if it is the generally accepted definition of the word.

Archaic definitions are considered obsolete for your own defense as well, for example when you call someone "Gay", you are not intending to call them happy. You intend to imply, whether directly or indirectly that they are a homosexual. The only time you can attempt to use the defense that you are calling them by a definition other that the one that is the generally accepted term is when you have OBVIOUS lead up to your reveal of the use of that word. It also usually requires you to explain the intention of the word, and is GENERALLY used in terms of jokes. You were NOT saying what you said in any joking manner, nor did you have any implication that you meant anything other that what everyone assumed you meant.

Accept your punishment, censor your speech (no one likes being insulted). Stop trying to defend yourself with attempts to make your use of any given word invalid.

What would your advice be towards players who tell you to shut up or uninstall then? Am I supposed to just ignore it and let them get away with that? I'm not about to lean on a broken system where it requires x amount of reports to get chat restrictions on someone.

  2. They won't get away with it if you report them.
  3. The system isn't broken.
  4. Mass reporting a player in a single game does nothing more than a single report would.

Really? Because i've seen instances where i've gotten restrictions because of absolutely nothing. Just because a group of friends decided I was their target. Then later in a different game when I actually deserved a chat restriction, only one person would report and it'd do absolutely nothing.

The system isn't perfect, and not calling it broken would be too much of a compliment.

Punishments are very rarely given based on the results of a single game. The system watches you over time and once it decides you deserve a punishment, you get one.

  1. How do you know how many people clicked report? Because they called for it while the game goes? Most people don't report even when they tell you they do.

  2. There are people in the real world which get into jail while they are innocent. Not sure if you stand in public and tell the people that "not calling it broken would be too much of a compliment." but i guess you are only crying because someone teached you a lesson.

Don't be an as*hole and you wont get punished. And yes you used hate speech and yes it is punishable. Stop complaining till you understand the system which punished you.
