Perma Banned for 3rd Party Software (I've never used 3rd Party Software.....)

Has this happened to anyone else?

I opened my e-mail this morning to find that riot had issued a perma ban for "use of 3rd party software." I was not told what type of software I was being accused of using, and I have not even logged into the game in over a week, last I played was 3/6/2019. However, I see two newer games in my match history that confirm (for me) that my account was definitely hacked, and whoever it was was definitely scripting judging by the stats for reach game.

This honestly pisses me off, because I'm essentially being preyed on by some phisher or hacker with nothing better to do.

This is just more of a "has it happened to you" post. I'm already trying to contact Riot, but I already have a sinking feeling that they won't even bother with me at this point.

I had a good run I guess, thank you for the fun Riot. From Season 3 to current.

Looks like the account has indeed been used in the past day.

But if it was indeed hacked it and used third party programs, it's unlikely to be returned as Riot holds account responsibility upon the player.

This is why I wish two factor authorizations were a thing... I'd gladly spend an extra 30 seconds logging into the client each time if it meant my account be safe from this sort of stuff.

If it's proved the account was compromised through no fault of yours (you took reasonable precautions and never shared login info) and that you are the original owner of the account (not accusing, but purchased account are notorious for having been leveled through botting, even if the purchaser never bots/scripts) there is a decent chance you'll get your account back.

Same thing happened to me. Haven't been on for LOL for 2 or 3 days, come back and I get a notification saying that I have been permanently banned for prohibited third party software. I have never used any third party software, I don't even play ranked. Why the hell would I need any third party software? I play the game to purely have fun and I don't recall ever being genuinely mad at the game because of this gaming mentality of mine. If I've been hacked like what happened to you, I want to know how I can find that out.

Riot, if you read this, please help me figure this out.

When my west account got banned. I haven't even played with that in months, and it's match history is empty since the past several months! So no one played with it since a while. Had to send a damn support ticket to unban it.

literally just happened to me logged on and boom perma banned for 3rd party software go on op.gg and see 3 games played while i was inactive on the account. would like to know how long it took to resolve this problem.

bastard even changed my summoner icon

I haven't played in months . i also have never used any software what so ever, i have spent hundreds of dollars on this account i would never jeopardize my account, i haven't even seriously tried ranked until last season this makes no sense at all. i have never used any third party software hell i don't even use macros!! i play this game solely to connect with old friends from high school. this is wrong and i have been false accused who in there right mind would spend money on a game just to gamble with the rules?! can i speak to an admin or something? throw me a bone here.. ALSO to ADD i just looked up my summoner and come to find out its been about 6 to 7 months since i have logged in similar to everyone else's experiences below this must be a fluke.

Ok, apparently Riot was hit with a massive bot wave that turned up a lot of false positives and they are reviewing tickets still.

I hope everyone who has experienced this reads this.
