perma banned for THIS?

Riot games has truly proven they do not give a rat's ass about their players or what it means to be a positive player. I have been perma banned for this chat log, in which I was constantly being trashed on by my entire team for no reason. When I tried to reply back because I was sick of hearing it, they went harder on me; of course, you wouldn't put that in the chat because you don't care about your players. I talk a lot to incite socialization between my team and strategic discussion, but this team did nothing other than constantly shit talk and then report me for calling out their mistakes.

This isn't even my account, it's my friends. Regardless of what you say, you haven't done anything to me, or to my friend. Only to a person who has done nothing wrong. That is how powerful your system is.

On a side note, I know Riot doesn't care enough to unban one of the few people in the world who actually have good will towards their team mates and don't actually play the game for a stupid rank, but I will propose that you ban my main account and unban my friend's in exchange. This ban is directed towards me, not him. I will take the hit for my friend, even if it is your corrupted community who claims to carry "good will" while spitefully trying to get me banned, which brought it upon me.

My main account was of a higher rank than this account, so you don't have to worry about me playing games with you. The greatest proof to me that you give no fucks about your community would be if you tried to track me down and ban me too, instead of accepting my offer. Go ahead, and show me what you're really made of.

I am not on the Player Behavior team, so I wouldn't be able to do anything about your case even if I wanted to, but I can tell you there are much more constructive ways you can give feedback to your teammates.

Instead of saying: "i'm about to go afk" Try saying: "cmon guys, let's pull it together, keep up vision and play def"

Instead of saying: "[i got] 4 manned 3 times in a row while you watched so kindly fuck off" Try saying: "let's group"

Instead of saying: "i'm glad you guys lost, you deserved it" Try saying: "gg" [or just queue up for the next game]

Relentlessly harassing your teammates isn't going to make them (or you, or anyone) better at League of Legends. It's just going to tilt your team and get you banned.

I appreciate that a rioter is actually responding to this (or anything in this forum for a change) but this is honestly horrible advice. Nobody is going to act like that when their team is harassing them.

Last night I was playing a ranked game as shyv jungle. I got no leash, but the top laner who didn't leash for me managed to get first blood. I congratulated him and made the best of the situation.

A few min later our midlaner(zed) tried farming my scuttle. I of course came and took it having already been set behind by not having a leash. In retaliation he tried to steal my chicken camp with his q instead of using it to farm his lane. So I decided to say something in team chat.

"this zed trying to steal take devourer jungler cs :/"

of course in classic zed fashion he responded with "Fucking noob scrub Im trying to farm you fucking dumbass"

I responded with "lol, w/e" and I muted him.

Guess what? I carried and he fed.

The minute I realized that talking with this player was not an option i chose to remove myself from his very negative attitude. In fact had he been playing like an intelligent human rather than being tilted over scuttle crab he probably wouldn't have fed like a soup kitchen.

Anyway my point is that it's easy to figure out whether or not chat is going to be productive. The minute someone violently lashes out it's time to mute them and move on.

Based on the content of the messages, I somehow doubt the team was the one who started the harassment. In any case, if the teammates really are the belligerent ones in the situation, then the best plan is to mute them and carry on. Wasting time typing rude comments isn't helping anybody.

Yet they are allowed to continue playing, griefing and harassing other people. It's ok . . . you have a great system in place that deals with them. You have a great system in place that deals with players that purposely go AFK and leave games. This is on you and your team for not doing anything about it. We can mute, report, ban and anything else all day. You do nothing. Stop blaming the customers and blame yourselves for being so incompetent and not having systems in place to deal with these people in game. There should be a vote to kick option to remove toxic players.

People who do these things DO get punished. People like the one that started this very thread, and MANY MANY more. The #1 reason people don't get punished for being jerks in League is that they go unreported. So many people simply do not report players for stuff.

Lots of people simply assume the reports don't matter so they don't do them. Some people think that one game of a little raging but that doesn't go real far deserves some kind of immediate and harsh punishment, whereas Riot gives that person a chat restriction after several games of that type of behavior.

Is Riot's system perfect? No. But it is pretty darn good, and in fact is one of the best you'll ever find in a large online game.

We do have great systems in place, so I'm not sure where you're coming from. If you don't like the system, I'm happy to listen to any valid complaints about the existing architecture, but saying we've sat around twiddling our thumbs is factually incorrect.

There's too much troll potential in a vote-to-kick system. Lyte recently addressed the issue on his ask.fm page.

How are you going to address in game concerns then? From what I am reading in Lyte's post it only addresses issues in champ select. Most of the drama is in game with players that grief, harass you, feed, go afk and more. That doesn't address IN GAME issues. Is champ select griefing better yes I have to admit it. Do you still have to do something with trolls and afk players in game? Yes. I shouldn't have three to five games in a row where I deal with these players that are causing drama on purpose. You don't seem to understand that players lose matches because of these people. When we take the time to report them nothing happens.

You apparently didn't read the first link Riot Kid Ronnie provided. I highly suggest checking it out. The issues you're concerned with DO get handled by Riot.

Don't like what someone does in game? Report them, it's that simple. There's no need to ask other people to report them, if you submit a valid report that alone is plenty. Certainly don't flame that person yourself, that's likely to just get you in trouble. Just stay calm, do your best to have what fun you can that game, and when it's over, report them.

I've said some stuff in game on a few occasions that I shouldn't have, reportable things. And yet I wasn't punished. But that doesn't mean the system is flawed. It means I didn't keep doing it. And I try really hard to not do it more, even sparingly, because I know it just makes the game suck for others and doesn't help anyone, plus I don't wanna get punished.

Things DO happen as a result of reports. Just because you don't get to see those things happen doesn't mean they aren't happening. You only get a message that a player was punished due to your report when yours was the last one needed for them to be punished, if you're online, and not in a game.

Also try to be understanding of the fact that sometimes people AFK on accident due to their game crashing, their power or internet going out, or due to some emergency. Riot tries not to punish this sort of thing too heavily, because it wasn't intentional. Even if someone is tilting and feeding hard as a result it doesn't mean they rage quit, sometimes your power gets knocked out in the middle of an awful game. But you can report them, even if you aren't sure why they left the game. There's an option for that. If it's a pattern of behavior on their part they will get in trouble.

Now if they SAY they're AFKing on purpose, make sure to report that, because that's really not ok and they will get punished for that. I haven't seen that happen often, but I have seen it, and I make sure to report it every time.

I have a complaint about permabans. Your company gives out "reform" cards for permabans, which is misleading, because there is no other chances given. Should reduce permabans to year bans, seems kinda excessive.

I always love the people who are like "you suck at life". The whole time they're saying it they're actually killing any validity they might have had. Even the insults that are good ones are obviously just lucky guesses and no longer have any power. You just sit there thinking "no, actually I do quite fine in life thank you. I'm happy, have plenty of friends, and make more than enough money. I have so little to stress about that I spend my time playing online video games. I have several hobbies and talents that I'm well known for in my community, and I"m always included in the good times. I'm gonna have to say that I kick life's ass actually". I just think it's funny when people try to tell you that they know things that you have the evidence that proves to you that they have no clue what they're talking about. If the whole community were to decide on what characters to buff and nerf, the entire game would be broken because bronzes and silvers and have no clue what they're talking about. You actually think that sitting behind a computer spamming a report button makes you a good person, worthy of influencing the lives of others? You make me laugh.

You were banned for repeated toxicity that indicated you had no intention to improve your behavior. Since Riot doesn't want that behavior in their game, and since you showed you didn't want to stop it, that left them with the one action of removing you form the game

There is no talking down in what I say or what I do. It's invented by the figment of your imagination because you prioritize your pride and your big dick before learning and humility, which causes you to see in me what you are. So, if the community is 'not worthy' to determine what behavior is acceptable why do you think you are? Why do you think your behavior is something that your teammates should have to tolerate? Is this one of those 'well no one can draw any objective moral lines so therefore everything is permissible' thing going on here? Or are you attempting to claim some uncanny level of moral superiority that allows you to tell everyone else what should be punished and what shouldn't?

You could easily deduct that what I am saying is simple. I would never stand in the way of someone who isn't harming anyone. A ban is a harm, created by hatred and malice, which physically impedes a person from doing something. Talking does none of that, and is easily dismissable at a glance. Even a pure, hatred filled shit talk will always have something good to extract from and transform... let alone one from me, who the only reason I play the game now is to help people understand how to play the game better. So what if I like to pretend like I'm an asshole for the sake of creating character? The whole point of doing that is to teach people to see past superficiality and see the deeper levels of things, because that is what is required to play this game at a higher level. Mentality is everything, and a person who is not willing to see the good before the bad cannot learn. I expect people to fail, but to try and banish me for trying? Forcing me to be in a situation where I have to go on a forum and try to appeal for my friend's account when I know I shared no malice towards anyone I played with, despite them disappointing me throughout the course of the game? I'm getting blamed for a crime I didn't commit, and I'm not spiting anyone for the countless mistakes they made regardless of it. Oh, what a horrible person I must be.

The real irony is you claim to play the game to teach people to get better. You say you act like an asshole to teach people to see past it.

But in the end the players reported you to teach you they don't want your lesson.

This XKCD strip is relevant because you somehow think skill at League translates into the right to behave any way you want, which simply isn't the case. League is a community and that community has standards. Bronze or challenger, it doesn't matter.

THE SAME RULES AND EXPECTATIONS APPLY TO EVERYONE. IF YOU BREAK THEM, EXPECT TO BE SHOWN THE DOOR.
