Being placed in priority queue for helping my injured grandmother
I understand that leavers make the game less fun. I understand that there needs to be a punishment for intentionally feeding, rage-quitting, and toxicity. I also understand that there is no way to differentiate those cases with "there's an emergency and I need to afk for a few minutes".
Recently, my grandmother fell. She broke her leg in 2 places. As I am the only person living with her, it falls upon me to help her with every day tasks. Sometimes these occur just as I am loading into a game, just as I am about to win a game, just as I am about to lose a game... it's about as random as the lottery.
I just thought I'd gain catharsis from letting you know that I am being punished with 20-minute low priority queue timers for helping my injured grandmother. Before she got hurt, I had never had a penalty timer like this. Usually I'm great at not leaving games.
Again. Just for catharsis. Thanks for reading.
EDIT: To those whom wished my grandmother well, thank you. To those who said "take care of your grandmother instead of playing", obviously I am or I wouldn't have priority queues. To those who said "simply don't play if you may have to leave", think of it more like this: there's heightened chance that I could be called away, but it is not a guarantee (not even close to one). It's gone from about a 10% chance to have to walk away, to about a 40%. She's capable for the most part, but if she asks me to do something for her convenience (such as running to grab this that and a third), I'm not going to make her get out of her chair with a broken leg.
As I said, I'm not looking for a repeal, I'm not looking to be acquitted, I was looking for catharsis.
