Friend Randomly Banned on Stream

Thought this would be a funny but interesting thing to share. So a couple of friends and I were getting ready to play a custom ARAM when suddenly...UseMyLantern is permabanned right after counting down to hitting the random button. According to UseMyLantern, he's only ever had one chat restriction from when he first started playing the game (around 3-4 months ago). Other than that, he's never had a ban. It was pretty funny how it happened (lots of memes xd), but it lead to a pretty serious discussion about the wave of permabanning in the league community. We talked about how permabanning is ruining the game as of late (one person brought up the fact that some players invest hundreds of dollars into one account only to be permanently banned, thus deterring them from playing the game again). It would be interesting to hear everyone's thoughts on the matter?

edit: According to UseMyLantern, he was banned for scripting. He has sent an email to riot to resort the issue, since he claims to have never scripted (side note: he is a thresh main and was accused and apparently reported for scripting twice around the time he first started the game). My friends who have played with him before in Diamond and Masters can vouch for his skill level (gold). From his gameplay, it's obvious he hasn't been scripting. But I guess we'll have to see what Riot says about this.

Leaving players that are consistently or extremely negative or cheat in some way harm the game more. Riot doesn't let people buy immunity to the rules, and they'd rather a player not spend any more money on the game than continue toxic behavior.

The thing is we need permaban because like Nami said if we keep people who break the rules, especially for cheating it will harm the game! How you would feel if every single game/match you played had a scripter? It wouldn't be fun especially in rank!

To be honest though we can really take your word for it! How often are you playing (side by side in the same room) with your friend? If it's all over the Internet it's pretty obvious that he could have programs to help him script. Also note that it doesn't even need to be all the time. Even if you use it once you can still be detected by the system especially if you done it in the past! Lastly usually with 3rd party ban they couple them with people who share accounts. What are the chances that your friend gave his account to another friend or someone else to try out?

The thing is, I have never used 3rd party programs EVER. I am trying to get in contact with some of the friends and family members that have played on my account before. If someone else used my account and was using 3rd party programs then it wasn't my fault. I know I still gave out my info even if it was to "trusted" people. I'm still trying to figure out how this could have happened and how it can be fixed if it can be fixed... i hope Amumu

Permabanning is not even close to slightly ruining the game. If anything, it's making it miles better by ridding this game of said toxic scum who ruin it for others. And the amount of money one spends is irrelevant. It is up to each and every individual player to decide whether or not they wish to spend money. The moment they consented to do so, it became Riot's money. They have absolutely no right to complain.

Your friend probably got caught in Riot's latest ban wave for cheaters/scripters. There are all kinds of threads on it at the moment. Pretty sure of his error code is 2700 thats being banned for cheating.

Same thing, got perm suspend yesterday no prior incursions on my account no 10-15-25 hour bans, nor 14 days at all
