An Interesting Experience I had with a Rager/Toxic Player

To avoid witch hunting, I am not going to use any summoner names, and the game is no longer in my match history so there's very little chance someone can pull this game up.

I recently played a solo queue game where my team agreed to invade level 1 since we had Blitzcrank support and Morgana mid for the catch potential, Darius top (me), Varus adc, and Elise jungle for the high damage level 1. In comparison to the enemy team of Maokai top, Kha jungle, Ekko mid, Ez adc, and Naut support, we were certain that our level 1 was stronger than the enemy's given the fact we would also get the jump on them.

As we invaded their blue side, we saw a ward placed down and knew that the enemy was now aware of our strategy. However, we managed to get a key ward down at the enemy's blue buff bush without their knowledge and left. As we were leaving, the enemy adc (Ez) walked over the ward at their blue. Four of our members (all except our Blitzcrank) decided to collapse on Ezreal while avoiding the ward we knew they placed. Despite our pings and the clear easy pick, our Blitzcrank did not get the memo and went back into our jungle. Our window of opportunity was closing, since minions were spawning soon and if more people join ez in the bush we'd be fighting at a numbers disadvantage. The four of us decided to pull the trigger wihtout blitz. Morgana hit her binding through the fog of war, Varus and I used our Qs to deal damage, and Elise got her double q combo off. As the 3 hour bind ended, we brought the adc down to half a bar of health after he used summoner heal. It became clear that we could not kill him without our Blitzcrank's hook/ignite.

Since Ezreal had not yet put his point into a skill, he leveled up arcane shift and flashed away along with his e. Piece of advice, do not skill up your level 1 until you use it, it could be the difference between life or death, had Ezreal already used his skill point on q, he would've died. Also, smartcast level up skill, default ctrl+skill. This is where we should have called it a day and left, we gained a pretty good advantage: Ezreal started E and burned both summoner spells, though we could've gotten the kill with Blitzcrank, what're you gunna do? It's solo queue. Even if we flashed after him, he already covered a great distance that we probably couldn't close, and we had no vision in the rest of the jungle and could have died if the enemy team was in there, which was probable. Our Morgana didn't have the same thought process as me and gave chase into the fog of war, believing she could auto Ez to death (lol) after she caught up with her ghost/flash. Surprise surprise, the enemy team came to the adc's aid. Now, another mistake. Our team should've abandoned Morgana and called it a day. Our spells were on CD and Maokai would make it to the fight before our Blitzcrank would. However, we tried to make the best out of our situation and save Morgana. Due to us trying to save her, our Elise and Varus died alongside Morgana. The only people to survive the fight was me, Darius, and the Blitzcrank that showed up late to the fight. We did not get a single kill. The enemy Kha got two of the kills while Ezreal auto'd Morgana for a kill. Kha zix get's snowballing pretty easily, it isn't looking good for us here.

This was the most solo queue invade I could possibly ask for. Clown Fiesta all around. Idiotic mistakes from all players.

Was I angry that our support didn't get the memo to collapse on the adc? Sure. Was I angry that our midlaner gave chase into the fog of war? Sure. Was I angry that I'd be starting 0-3 in a promo game to diamond? Sure.

But I wasn't about to go all toxic on my teammates.

I'm not saying I'm the most model LoL player, I've probably been reported before (Given how long I've played LoL, it's just statistically improbable that I've never been reported), but I'd like to consider myself on the more "ideal" LoL player according to the tribunal. I've never intentionally fed or afk'd, never threatened to do so either. I try to keep my trashtalk towards the enemy team because hey, what's the point in tilting my own teammates?

However, our Varus had something to say to all of us. Immediately after we all respawned, he started going all-chat warrior on us and said stuff like "gg" "bad team" "God this team sucks" "Idiot Support" "Shitcrank." The enemy team provoked him, trying to get us to argue among ourselves and tilt Varus even more, but the rest of our team stayed calm while Varus took the bait. He kept going on and on, and the worst thing any of us said to him all game was our midlaner, who, after the Varus said all this stuff at the beginning of the game, typed "He's just babyraging." Though my post might seem as though he wasn't that toxic, I'm not posting every single thing he said, for he said way too much for me to remember it all. Just use your imagination, your average toxic player.

As laning phase began, our Morgana, against all odds, beat the enemy Ekko despite the Ekko being challenger each season and a professional player. Morgana also burned both her summoners in the jungle invade without Ekko using his TP or Flash. I don't play mid lane, so I don't know that match up, but I feel as though Morgana shouldn't have been able to win that fight. I solo killed my enemy Maokai level 5, which wasn't surprising to me given the fact I never lose the match up (Darius vs. Maokai). Seriously, if you lose this lane without a hardcore camp you should stop playing Darius. You have an axe, he's a tree. You can just chop him down. Meanwhile, our bot lane died in the 2v2. Given the fact Ez got a kill in the jungle invade and two assists, I wasn't surprised, though they should've played safer. Our Varus continues to rage at our Blitz, telling him to "Go mid, you're stealing farm" saying "gg" "bad support" and all the other common adc phrases. Elise gets a good gank off on Ekko and as our bot lane dies again. Our adc begins yelling at our jungler for not ganking. Advice: ganking hard losing lanes is a bad idea, if the enemy is like 1 kill ahead then it's an okay idea to gank. But ez was double Varus' cs and had 5 kills. In hard losing lanes you'll probably lose the 3v2 and will definitely lose the 3v3. Elise's choice to gank mid (and later on top) was the right call. I get another solo kill top lane, and due to my hard push on both kills I'm able to get top tower before bot lane tower is destroyed. However, due to my yolo push on the tower for the first tower gold, I over stay and get dove by the Kha zix and Maokai. I die, but my Morgana and Elise rotated top to kill the two of them.

As teamfights roll around, our adc refuses to group, claiming that he would just get bursted down instantly. We tell him to sit behind tanks, he calls us idiots. He continuously farms, and pings me to back off from top farm (huge minion wave, 500g easily). I yield top farm to him since I was a lot of cs ahead the Maokai, but he was miles behind the enemy Ez. He keeps pinging me to fall back, and I tell him that I'm giving him the farm and to stop pinging me (It bugs me when people ping me for no reason, especially when I'm playing quite well), he pings me 20 times after I say this just to piss me off. I say nothing of it.

As the enemy forces a fight on us because of our Varus' refusal to group, our midlaner and I carry the fight and our adc realizes that we could win. He joins the fight (late I might add) and we win. We take objectives all around the map, continue to win teamfights, bust open their base, and when it's become obvious that we were going to win, and no, we're not a trash team, our adc apologizes to us as we're taking an uncontested baron. He says "Sorry about early game, I was tilted." I respond "Still not cool man." "I know, but I can say sorry." "You can, but it really doesn't change the fact that you raged at us all game." "I know, I was tilted." "We were all tilted, you're the only one that raged." "I know, I'm sorry."

As we're killing the nexus, everyone sends out their ggs, all except the Ekko and Kha who were now the ones arguing and our adc who said sorry again. At the end game screen, he apologized once more.

I was going to report him, but I felt as though he learned his lesson, and also know that the tribunal system is pretty bad (looking at you, rito) and there's a long list of people that should be banned before people like him, such as:

  1. Intentional Feeders
  2. Afkers
  3. Scripters/Hackers
  4. DDosers
  5. People even more toxic than him He got carried super hard by the team he called trash. He honored all of us, and added us as friends, I personally didn't accept the request but those that did received another apology.

I feel as though this experience will hopefully make him a less toxic player. All game long he was raging at all of us and we all didn't say anything back. When he apologized, he received the same silence he got all game except from me, who wasn't having any of his shit.

So shout out to my teammates, who as a whole chose to ignore Varus' toxicity.

Shout out to my jungler, who impeded the enemy jungler's early 2 kill advantage and got good ganks off.

Shout out to my midlaner, who carried the fights that I died in and winning vs a professional player.

Shout out to my support even, who didn't play too well, but received the worst words from the Varus and was able to block that out.

No shout out to my adc, who should watch his words next time.

I'm now Diamond!

TL;DR: Raging and toxic adc is carried by team he called trash. Apologizes profusely.

Cool story, it's refreshing to see a different sort of story on the PB&M board.

Congrats on being Diamond!

Always nice to see a toxic player reformed. I was once like that too, and I had like 2 accounts permabanned in season 5. I haven't been punished since and I feel like this is reflected in my play, now that I focus on the game more and not flaming I can really make better decisions and keep my lead.

Lol nice. I like that you didn't add him, because you know when he tilts, he throws integrity out the window and becomes a complete ass.

I've won a game before where a toxic player sent a friend request and wanted to duo q. I told him sorry dude you're toxic as fuck I don't wanna hear that shit in games. He laughed at me like I'm a nerd for thinking he's toxic lol whatever. Only added him to let him know even though we won, he's still not a fun player to play with.

It's weird how some people just have that insecurity in em, where they have to blame their team and trash talk them. And then some people are level headed and realize everyone makes mistakes, and breaks down situations in your head like you did. You look at it critically. Toxic players dont. They see everything at face value... you fucked up, therefore you are bad.

I think it's an intelligence thing. Intelligent people don't rage, because we realize it's just a game and people make mistakes. Raging only hurts yourself. You think you're venting, like opening a valve that's gonna leak all your rage out and you'll feel better. In reality you're stressing out and raging while I'm calm and collected, looking at things logically, not emotionally. Props to you, sir.
