Telling someone you are going to afk makes them stop flaming you because they realize they are tilting you. It's not like I was trying to be toxic. I just want my teammates to actually try and win instead of just trolling. I will never understand the reasoning behind these punishments. The game is notoriously bad when it comes to the punishment system. Why is this still happening?

If what they are saying is tilting you, then you can mute them. It takes less effort and fewer key strokes to achieve, saving in carpel tunnel medical bills.

Generally speaking, in a game where someone is raging at me and I feel the need to rage back, I allow myself to shout obscenities at the monitor, but I will not type anything into chat other than GG at the end. If I am angry, I do not allow myself to type anything at all unless its positive.

No matter what they say to you, just mute, breathe deep and shout at your screen.

Psychological studies have shown that the more you let a troll know they get you to, the more they are likely to keep trolling. Even discounting that, and even if we say threatening to AFK is fine, you still insulted and taunted your teammates, and would still earn a punishment.

Bluntly, the people who tend to say this are those who have been punished, due to behavior that the community finds appropriate to punish.

Why is this still happening?

Because you insulted and taunted your teammates. You asked what you did wrong so you can improve -- that is what you did wrong. You can accept that and learn from it, or you can not accept it and not learn from it, in which case you will wind up punished for the same behavior on any other account you decide to create. The choice is yours.

Yeah, not to be mean but if you ask for help, post the chat, you need to shut up and listen to the advice given. Then look back where people are pointing out the issues, swallow your pride and think “maybe they have a point” and try the thing they are saying.

Sitting there and back talking everyone’s advice is just showing how cooperative you probably are in a match. I know this sounds mean but you gave a show of character in your replies to the advice people gave you.

You weren't permabanned for that. You were penalized for that chat. You get 4 chances. Each tier is:

  • 10-game chat Restrictions
  • 25-game chat Restrictions
  • 14-day ban
  • Permaban

You went through all of them. All those tiers could have been reduced anytime with positive attitudes and honorable showmanship. The only time you'd get a ban is if you went against the Zero-tolerance policy, and their ban is 14-days max. That'd leave you with one chance due to it being a 3rd tier penalty.

As for what you did. You consistently griefed your team, insulted them, and harassed them. Creating a negative experience for everyone. Which led them to report you throughout your time playing this game. Avoid doing everything you've said negatively in this chat, and you'll be on a path of improvement with your next account.

Mute them and report them. If you want to further the investigation on your negative experience with a player, you send a ticket to Riot Support. They'll penalize them if they do it consistently from their game history. That's what we all do and what I've been doing for 10 years in this game.

You kept disturbing, pestering, and troubling your teammate with your ongoing negativity which is harassing. Following up on saying you were going to report them. Calling your teammate a "little boy", "rage monkey", "insecure", and among other insultings, continuing to be inflammatory. That's how you got your very last penalty tier.

Really? Nice double standards, it's ironic actually. Considering how many actual toxic trolls continue to plague the game while tilted players get permabanned. There's a good reason you've lost more than half your player-base since 2012. Falsified statistics/information will only get you so far in the 21st century. Just mute. It seems like verbal communication for you causes problems so if you’re paying more attention to your gameplay you won’t sit there typing an essay. Trust me, you will see more cooperation as a team and you’ll have more success.

you did nothing wrong, you acted like what most of league playerbase would have, what you did wrong was get yourself to the point where you could be permabanned for further offenses, just watch out next time. no points in wasting your time with the staff either, they arent gonna help you get unbanned or improve. all you need to know is /muteall, literally the only sane solution to this mess riot has made in the past few years with their report/rank system. toxicity is so bad in league that their only solution to the problem is just ban everything they see as remotely promoting toxicity and conflict in chat, its pretty sad tbh.
