Hacked and perma'd

Firstly, I have to say a big sarcastic 'Thank you' to the script kiddies that caused my account to be permabanned...

A little background on my issue...

Several months ago, after a long hiatus from the account, I logged in to find I had chat restrictions and that there had been considerable negative activity in the fields of justice. I wore that and patiently waited to be able to play again. Naturally, I contested the ban as the chat transcripts from the tribunal clearly showed that someone had commandeered my account.

Just in case anyone is wondering...

That is all well and good. I got the account back but don't think I got more than a couple of games (as I work and don't get a lot of time to league) before taking another small break.

I log in tonight (after recovering my password as I had forgotten it) to find I have been permanently banned.

I have requested the IP address of the offending user (for legal purposes) and am disappointed with Riot's inability to see that I was not, in fact, in control of any of the events I have been apparently banned for.

It is all sweet to have a nice disclaimer saying that if things go wrong - the account holder wears it, but, where is the decency that one would expect from a company like Riot to have even a little look through the case and establish that someone might actually be telling the truth and giving the benefit of the doubt.

I am sure all the 'rigorous protocols' put in place to handle the banning and suspension are fantastic, but look at what has happened (and I am sure I am not alone). Perhaps slamming down the ban hammer is not always mandatory. Maybe just work with the poor person who has just had all of their hard work and dedication to the game (not to mention a not-so-small amount of money spent on it) on securing the account correctly or putting in place a 2 step verification system to combat these pathetic little script kiddies using tools to commandeer accounts and cause havoc.

I know I won't be able to recover the account from a permanent ban. I know I can't get any of the many dollars back I have spent on the game. I won't be able to reconnect with half of the people I used to play with (had a pretty extensive friends list etc).

I just wanted to voice my opinion on a public forum to vent my frustrations and maybe instigate a little change into the blanket treatment of these cases.

Hiding behind a very inflexible and catch-all behaviour and moderation system and using generic templated emails when responding to support requests is simply criminal.

Have a heart, Riot.

Yes, some people do cheat and hack and behave like absolute tools when they play but the vast majority of us don't.

Even after all of this ridiculous decision making and extended woes with the game, I will continue to play on another account (unless their Marxist EULA forbids this practice) and try to forget all the time, energy and money I have put into the game.

Sorry all for the rant but I had to say something. Even if this all falls on deaf ears, at least I have been heard.

See you all on the fields of justice...just not my 6-7 year old account :/
