I got perma banned after just recently coming off a 14 day ban, which is the first ban I got, I was reading some threads and said there were 1 day bans and 7 day bans before a 14 day, which I got immediately. I was wondering if there was any way I could like speak to someone to try and revoke my ban. I think it was wrongly given because in the description it said I was "extremely inflammatory and offensive" which is absolutely ridiculous. I did not say a single curse word or verbally abuse anyone. I was given chat logs for two games on the basis of my perm-ban and it honestly doesn't make any sense. I should be able to talk to my team with out running the risk of being banned. There are people in my games that constantly cuss at people and verbally abuse people and say racial slurs which I report after, only to never get a notification that the person has been punished, yet I got permanently banned over this. If anyone knows of a way I can perhaps speak to someone and maybe plead a case for this I would appreciate it, thanks.

I can see how these could be taken as slightly offensive but what am I suppose to say when my teammates are intentionally trolling me? Do I say they aren't trolling when they clearly are? I also understand that I could've told the riven player what to do in a nicer way but is that really perma-ban worthy? I understand that there might've been more games but since the 14 day ban I hardly ever type anymore and I don't verbally abuse or curse at players directly, I was pretty bad earlier in the chat bans but when I got the 14 day I would say that I fixed my attitude.

Your information on the various punishments is outdated. The current system has 4 punishment tiers:

10-game chat restrict. 25-game chat restrict. 14-day suspension. Permanent ban.

Each successive punishment moves you up one tier, unless your behavior is severe enough to merit skipping one or more.

As for not getting notifications confirming that one of your reports resulted in a punishment, the reason for that is that those notifications are only sent out to the players that reported the person in the game that put them over the line; the final nail in the coffin, as it were. Your reports do matter, they just might get punished after a few more games.

Now then, if you'd like us to help you figure out if your permanent ban is unjustified, please post the chat logs you were given. Keep in mind that the two games you were given logs for are probably not the only games that were factored into the ban.

You were misinformed about punishments. There are four tiers of punishments:

  1. 10 game chat restriction
  2. 25 game chat restriction
  3. 14 day suspension
  4. Permanent suspension

Since you skipped straight to 14 day suspension, I would think that you used either hate speech or death threats. Because of this, I doubt that the logs you received are any better and this punishment will not be reversed. But if you would like to debate it, feel free to post your chat logs.

The tiers are a 10 game ban, a 25 game ban, a 14 day ban and finally a permaban.

If you jumped right to a 14 day ban, you were either caught trolling, cheating, or were very toxic.

You can post the chat logs from your permaban if you want help in seeing what was punishable on it. But if you want to try and dispute the ban you'll need to send a support ticket in. Link here

Just a few examples of attacking your teammates.......

Also asking for reports or THREATENING reports is punishable on it's own.

That's so bogus, those are being taken out of context, two of those lines of text were meant to be all chatted and I didn't the first time so I all chatted the message. This is ridiculous if those words are being counted as punishment just because I'm shedding light to the situation. Every single player talks like this or has talked like this, but people still play this game and don't get punished. It said words like that put me into the .006 percentile, which is false because I have a person like this is in every single game I play and if they do it in my game they do it in others, but don't get punished and continue to play. I've spent 4k hours on this game and that's what I get perm banned for? that's a joke.

The punishment system works in tiers (though you can in severe cases skip tiers):

  1. 10 game chat restriction
  2. 25 game chat restriction
  3. 14 day ban
  4. Permanent ban

If you have chat logs it is highly recommended to include them here (preferably all of them if you have more then 1 chat log which can be up to 3 games of chat logs).

Generally negative and constantly asking for reports. Easily viable for punishment. Since you just came off your 14 day suspension, permanent was naturally the next step.

I would say it's only natural someone gets irritated when the same things happens over and over again. Asking for reports, is that a joke? Informing the enemy team of a player that's afk'd in base and is intentionally feeding or trolling the game is reportable? Me trying to better the community so he doesn't afk or intentionally feed in future games is reportable? You can't be serious.

The thing is that asking for reports is useless. Your report alone flags the game for review; asking others to help you does not provide any benefit, and often makes the situation even worse. Thus asking for reports is considered harassment, and can be punished.

and how do you expect a player to know that? Everyone does it, it's a norm. How am I suppose to know that it's considered harassment when I say it one time to the enemy team, And how was I suppose to know that my report alone flags it. That's unfair to use that as an excuse because people falsely report people all the time and if the system is automated how does that work?

I don't blame you for that. In fact I made a thread about a month ago asking for more transparency on this matter. We need more things about the system to be common knowledge so players like yourself don't get on the wrong side of the rules while believing they're helping.

So where is the justice in that? I'm just going to be continually denied and have my reported sections pointed out when I didn't know I could be reported for something like telling the enemy team to report my teammate for obvious reasons. Is every account just going to be perm banned forever is there no leniency or change coming?

The Bans go in this order. 25 Game Chat Ban 50 Game Chat Ban 14 Day Ban Permanent Ban.

Since you just got off a 14 day ban, you were punished by players in your games. 1 report in each game, sends a response to the Player Behavior Department which is review by several staff members of that said Department. They found you guility and banned you.

Thus your permanent Ban

The thing is I don't think this ban is even report worthy, Out of the entire community people say things far more worse then me and don't get punished and clearly not even looked at because millions of people play this game. My chat logs aren't anywhere close to a .006 percentile and that doesn't make sense because I know people that went from 50 game chat bans to 75 to even 200's, but I get perma'd over this? this makes no sense.

They took out the consistent chat bans during season 5 and they remove the players with the excessive chat bans at the time. Punishments are issued in the following and no repeats occur. 10 Game Chat Ban 25 Game Chat Ban 14 Day Ban Permanent Ban Since you got off a 14 day ban you recieved a next tier punishment. Which would be a permanent ban

I had a 2000 game chat ban on my main account. When the option to report for refusal to communicate was an option.

And people are suppose to know that? This punishment system is ridiculous, four strikes when a strike can be something as simple as that? If that's the case everyone should have there account banned. If I got banned or got the "final nail in the coffin" over something like this why isn't everyone banned. If you blame my "history" then why aren't others blamed? Because I guarantee everyone's acted like this more then four times in there lifespan of any account. Regardless if that's there behavior and mine is my own I got banned and they didn't, where's the fairness in that? This isn't a child's game, this is a childish punishment. The age demographic is 17+. Am I really going to be punished of this strict of a system? This isn't league of babies. The fact that people can get banned over anything is someone finds it offensive is ridiculous. If that's the case why isn't everyone banned because apparently anything someone says is offensive. This automated system is beyond absurd.

Would you be interested in gathering information and compiling it together and sending a report to Kotaku or another gaming outlet to maybe bring to light this seemingly new and egregious punishment system that bans plays such as you and I for the mildest of chat logs yet allows the player who says "I hope you're killed in a mass shooting" and then leaves a few games later is allowed to continute to play. I spend over a week and countless hours providing 100% clearing evidence that I commited any violations but super mild chat violations yet all you can get from Riot are cut and paste responses or to ignore it completely.
