Okay so I would just like to know how many others have experienced the following:

I was playing a ranked and long story short my team won, my game was logged as a loss, when i queried the matter I was told that it could be an error on their end but there is nothing that can be done about it because the adjustment on LP could be abused so their hands are tied, thought this to be quite a slap in the face as it was my promos. Anyway I let it be and wrote it off as **** happens. With the new patch update there was patching issues and we were all made aware of this. During another ranked game the client crashed and i got a pop up saying that there was a patching issue with my update. I was then given leave buster as a result.

Yes, I have logged a ticket bla bla bla. I am honestly just venting a little and wanting to know if this is something anyone else has encountered and what was done about it.

Honestly with the recent update and then patch Riot had a lot of issues that I don't think they were expecting to have, this is why I would never play ranked until I am certain all the issues have been taken care of but I am sorry this happened to you it sucks that it did.

As someone else said, it's always a good idea to test out the patch in a quick practice or custom match to make sure it didn't break your client. That being said, they don't edit Leaver penalties as they simply can't, if the game saw you as a Leaver then that's that. That can happen even if you came back to the game, or if you were just AFK during the game.
