Time for Riot to start banning IPs

Riot has to start banning IPs, even poxy IPs. Most toxic people I can handle (there is the mute button), but they allow them to create accounts over and over. Same thing with 3rd party bots, first time you're caught, IP ban.

Tonight every single game I've been in there have been at least two 3rd party bots. You report & report, but nothing seems to be done. Are you too money grubbing of a company Riot, that you are unwilling start banning IPs? This is a great game, but unless you are finally willing to start cracking down. And until people start fearing that their IP's will get banned. Nothing will stop them from ruining peoples fun. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

It's not so easy as to just ip ban. A lot of people, if not most have dynamic ip, which means every time they reset router their ip changes. Add fact that multiple people can use same ip adress.

There is something called dynamic IP, everytime you turn off your router and turn it on again you get a new IP, this allows people to get banned again and again, banning IP will lead at some point with someone (or even more than just one) assigned said banned IP which result in bad PR. Doing a range IP ban will end up the same way. Banning certain IPs comming from certain internet providers will end up the same. Bannin IPs is only usefull for people who can't into basics, for everyone else is pointless. Usually trolls hold at least a basic grasp of this so, you know, pointless.

You know, the people in this game really just need to grow up, I mean, good God, I have never even heard the word "toxic" before coming to League, and now I see it applied to everyone and everything. If your skin is REALLY so thin that kids on the internet get to you, please, go to a psychologist or something.

I vote we ban people who use the word toxic (mostly whiny brats). Game would be a lot nicer then.

Riot is a shit and weak company they dont have the power to do that even if they wanted to, Blizzard or Valve however can do it easily

No. Can't do IP bans. Most internet users have their IP address refreshed and changed every so often. Mine changes almost every two weeks. As mentioned above, many IP addresses are fixed to locations like college dorms or offices. Banning by IP address will block a significant section of the internet and, possibly, block entire countries. While I have heard of IP bans before, it's super rare and not lightly advised.

Not to mention the collateral damage. The last time they did an IP ban (several years ago), it knocked out an entire college dorm.
