My Own Teammates Banning My Champs

Second lobby in a row, my team first-bans Xayah as I have her selected. No apologies, no reasoning behind it. First time, I got flamed for wanting to bring her at all. Second time, they simply said "always ban new champs" repeatedly.

Which leads me to 2 questions:

  1. Why are we even able to ban champions that our teammates have selected? Can't that be disabled? Why isn't that in consideration at this point? I understand when it comes to ranked that this may not be possible due to griefing, but even in normal draft where the results don't really matter? Would the results even have many negative possible repercussions?

  2. Why are brand new champs in the ban pool for normal draft games? Their ban rates have GOT to be within the 70-90% range. Hundreds of thousands of players spend money on themselves and their friends with the expectation of being able to use what they pay for, and now my own teammates are saying "no, you're not allowed. No reason lol get memed". Is this good marketing, let alone morally right?

tactical disagreements :D I think xyz is scary I ban xyz even if my team wants to pick them You should know more than 1 hero

This makes zero sense though. If your team is first pick, in the entire match, and that first pick is definitely going to pick that champion, then why would you ban them?

Because... they're scary? In norms? On YOUR own team? That's such a straw man argument. And yeah I know several champions and I have 6 mastery level 7s in the jungle, but they aren't Xayah and they've been out long enough for the playerbase to form a valid determination of whether they SHOULD be banned or not.

They're scary, I don't want to play vs them or with them My team can 1st pick ZED MID Lee jungle Doesn't matter I will always ban ZED OR LEE If I have the choice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UXRpB03azw Should Explain why people have select bans for some heros I have no way to verify how good someone is unless I look them up, have them on my friends list take their word for it Which is a real pain for me, so I ban who I feel will no help me the most to win regardless of my team. In my opinion, people who are learning new heros need to do so in blind/bots/with friends. I'm playing for quick wins , not for others to learn for 50 mins how-to play a hero

I'm not even talking about ranked, though. I even mentioned that above. I'm talking about normal draft, where consequences don't matter and people should be allowed to practice and learn

Just because its Normals shouldnt mean a damn thing. People dont like playing against/win certain champions, and seeing how its a new champion its to be expected. If you really want to play them that badly play Normal Blind and instalock!

Because bans are the individual players choice, same as picks.
