Hey there! Shortly speaking, I have just got permanently banned for being toxic on the basis of just one single game. Yeah, I admit that I was pretty much toxic in that game but the case is that I have not been banned before. Moreover, I haven't received any warnings before, thus, there were no chat-bans, 7 or 14 days ban as a warning sign before the permanent one. Thus, I have received a permanent ban right after we striked an enemy Nexus so it took like 30 to 60 seconds to permanently ban me.

Is it a joke or this is how tribunal works and there will be no warnings or such things and the system bans right after you click "Back to lobby" after the game was finished?

Riot, could you please throw some light on the situation?

If you were given chat logs from 1 game, that means it was most likely that game that was reported was found to have negative behavior. However, if your claim that you never received a prior punishment is true (I'm only going off what you typed) and it's a perma on the first one then it may be the following:

Your chat was extreme to the point that a perma is justified
it's a protective ban in case of a charge back or your account being compromised
You were caught using cheats or shared your account

Might want to contact support to see what's up.

Honestly if this is your first time ever getting a punishment: Send in a support ticket. It might get deescalated to a 14 day ban.

I'm not going to make any promises though.

Im not an expert in the ways the punishment system works.. But what i do know is that not just 1 game can get you banned unless you were uttering death threats, racism, homophobic comments or telling someone to go kill themselves.. so chances are you have had this coming for a bit.. and for them to skip the 7-14 day bans means you broke more then 1 of these above reasons...

Also tribunal hasnt been up for about 4 years at least now..

If you think you have been banned without rhyme or reason then start a support ticket and they will contact you with the further information.. However there is a good chance your account is done..

This is the chat log of the whole game (approximately 40 minutes), there's plenty of toxic stuff but it was more about the game process I tried to describe (admit, that in a way of insults, but about the game). So basically there was no racism, death threats, homophobic comments or telling someone to go kill themselves. The only thing that should be punished is speaking about family (read logs). Though, there were only two messages about it. The rest are pretty much just the stuff I wrote being under the influence of anger. Nevertheless, is it justified to get an instant permanent ban for this? With no 7 or 14 days ban, as well as with no just chat restriction for I don't know, 100 games? Pretty harsh punishment. Though, I admit that I went far beyond the norms and rules and I understand that I'm guilty, but on the other hand not agree with an instant permanent ban.

So, I don't see any zero-tolerance phrases. People are probably going to say the logs are fake. Might be good to get a screenshot as well for the more skeptical individuals.

The actual intended words are: %%%% (I know what word this is and it becomes %%%% I've seen it happen in logs before), and bitch.

I'd also hazard that this chat log might be HEAVILY edited.

But I'm just guessing here.

I can't think of a way that it makes sense to say it at all, besides maybe during a very intimate setting with a significant other.

Any other time it's usually used as a pejorative. For those that don't want to follow the link, it basically means: a word or grammatical form expressing a negative connotation or a low opinion of someone or something, showing a lack of respect for someone or something.

Yes, but just because a word only has negative uses doesn't mean it should be a zero tolerance word. Besides, I've been called a cheeky c*nt by people and I don't think of that as negative. Just kind of like teasing or reluctant respect towards the play I made.

And it wasn't used in any way I would consider respectful from the logs provided.

Personally I wouldn't use it in any casual conversation among strangers. But this is me and my opinion on it's use, I'm not going to force anyone one way or the other on this subject.

There are some things I'm okay with saying among very close friends that I wouldn't say otherwise because we both make jokes about it.

That's how a zero-tolerance phrase is treated. No matter the context, if it's said its an instant 14-day/perma-ban. If using that word was what got him banned, then it is safe to assume that riot considers c*nt to be a zero-tolerance word now, which isn't really surprising, just disappointing to me a least.

If anything it has been a zero-tolerance word for some time now due to it's nature of use. But only recently being used way more often as an insult.

Not sure why they have a permanent ban though. Normally punishments without much bad history with the IFS is a 14 day ban due to use of hate speech, homophobic slurs, etc. I left a suggestion for them to put in a support ticket.

I wouldn't consider it hate-speech or homophobic though. Also, there are no zero-tolerance words irl. If you meant in the game, before the ifs was implemented, I can guarantee it wasn't because I heard it many times and never thought twice about repeating it in a question format.

It's more along the lines used as harassment and is considered extremely crass and is meant to demean and belittle the other person. I don't see a reason to say it in a conversation.

Yeah, I don't know what constitutes zero tolerance, but I'm glad we are on the same page. That word is definitely not racist or homophobic, just inappropriate. I don't really understand enough about the ifs, but it would be nice to know if a word simply being inappropriate is enough to trigger an auto ban.

In many places in the world, especially the USA, it's considered a misogynist slur. It's a bit tricky, since technically so is "dick", but the fact that it has both a drastic connotation and a reductive and prejudicial denotation makes Riot put it on par with the other big no-nos.

Check the word's Wikipedia page, it has an interesting history and a lot of implications.

I honestly don't have a good answer for why prick or bitch aren't as serious as the c-word (They're all sexist, it's just a matter of severity), but that's just the accepted societal weight. You can observe virtually all scripted TV and films avoiding it, while making frequent use of the others. If you've seen House of Cards season 1, there's a very realistic plotline involving a man in power losing his temper and calling a female a c-word, resulting in him being forced to resign a prestigious position. It's widely considered to be among the absolute worst words in the language.

I'm all for that changing, but League isn't the proper forum to enact such a change.

Then, it comes down to a difference in perspective. I don't think society should influence my opinions, you do. We can just leave it at that. You can consider c*nt a sexist slur, because many others do, but that kind of argument is not going to change my opinion that it isn't sexist.

Overall i don't get why you'd be permabanned after that, but i suppose it's not the first time you were that toxic in a game and if there are some previous games were you acted like that it might be deserved.

That alone would warrant a chat ban if you do this consistently. Might be a system error or a protective ban.

I just tried to hide an offensive words like "d!ck" with a quite obvious way of just cutting half of word so it could look like "Show me your d" etc. due to the fact that I don't want to get banned on a forum as well since I am not really aware of the rules of posting such logs over here. Thus, is it justified for instant 30 seconds permanent ban? Though, as you may seen there are no death threats, racism, homophobic comments or telling someone to go kill themselves, just an average rage stuff which happens normally during games. (I admit, that I went beyond the norms and should get punished, but definitely not with an INSTANT PERMANENT BAN for that.) FYI: There is a reply button. Just letting you know. Posting your logs and it having words replaced by this % won't get you banned on the boards. Only if you did it constantly to harass someone on the boards, or just to be downright offense to everyone, could it lead to a boards punishment.

Honest opinion: You are CONSTANTLY harassing your teammates. Definitely merits a punishment.

It being a permanent ban kinda doesn't surprise me considering the contents of your chat logs... But usually the system goes up like this:

10 Game Chat Restriction
25 Game Chat Restriction
14 Day Ban
Permanent Ban

To skip three tiers of punishment is VERY rare, doesn't mean it has never happened, it's just almost unheard of. Usually if you have no prior problems with the IFS but get a punishment involving hate speech, homophobic slurs, etc, usually causes a punishment jumping straight to a 14 day ban.
