Homophobia is at a level which is light years more than too much,,,

Dear Fellow League of Legends Players,

Players in League have started to use homophobic terms too much, and I think the punishment for discrimination is not dealt with properly. Players using terms such as gay-play or %%%got hurt the feelings of thousands of people of sexualities they do not understand. I am pansexual myself, and players using discriminative terms in the game which I play to have fun, and not be harassed by others who do not treat traits different than the ones owned by themselves with respect, really push me to the point which makes me focus more on explaining that individuals of other sexualities than heterosexuality are nothing less human than the offender, rather than on the game itself. This goes to any other type of discrimination whether it is sexism, racism, discrimination against age or beliefs, and the punishment for those hate crimes, yes that is where those qualify, should be largely increased and the League of Legends community should be pushed towards acceptability and respect.

With regards to every tolerant and undiscriminative individuals reading this post, UnoidN.

What you described riot has determined is hate speech and is 0 tolerance and can result in perma bans without previous punishments if severe enough.

As Anomander stated, Riot has a zero tolerance policy for such behavior.
If you look up "permaban" in the search part of the boards and sort to past month you'll find numerous examples.

I'm sure if you settled down and had a chat with them about how you're sexually attracted to pans, it'll work out.

I'm gay and I can easily say Riot has no mercy for racism and homophobia. I really like their this particularity. You're just overracting I think.

if you feel offended by something on the internet and decide to make a forum post about it, the internet might not be the right place for you. I see tons of stuff that offends me, but I rather ignore it because I know I cant achieve anything by trying to talk against it.

"waaa I want attention"

It already isn't tolerated man just report and move on

Over the last few weeks for some reason I have noticed a large increase of individuals being largely disriminative towards gays, lesbians, bisexuals, panseuals, but also to the Islam religion. I know that it may have been caused by the current affairs, but I suggest for Riot to have a look at this discriminative community, some players simply are not bothered to use the option to report.

As far as I can tell, Riot is pretty good at cracking down on hate speech, moreso than other toxic behaviors.

I actually just finished a game against a blitz with "is g4y" in his name that called us slurs every time he died. So, I made a point of getting him killed eleven times, then reported him at the end. It was satisfying =D

please go play one game on CoD and come back. let us know what you think the chat their compared to league. qq more?

This also apples to retard and retarded or even special. It offends millions of people with disorders from medical diagnoses of being "retarded" (it's a real medical disorder) to "simple" AD(H)D

Narsicus3/29/2016, 8:49:02 PM1 votes

Something to consider, when people are tossing out remarks like 'gay' 'retard' 'lame' (and of course these are generally more benign than what is encountered in the wild) they are basically never referring to the meanings of those words. The actual definition likely never even factored into the person's decision making process when writing their comment. What they are truly writing at you is emotion, in this case it is likely anger or spite, and the words are just filler.

Does that give people free reign to talk in whatever derogative manner they want? Of course not and Riot currently views such language very harshly. But no matter how quick and severe Riot is with comments of this nature it will never be quick enough to get them before the person can write them down.

Sometimes people will talk to you using more anger than reason, and in these circumstances it is generally better to view their comment's emotional message as opposed to the literal one. If the comments get particularly offensive just ban them after the game, but there is no reason to take their comments literal message to heart because they for a certainty were not taking these comments to heart as they wrote them.

Basically don't invest more thought into a comment than the amount that was used to write it.
