Having a good KDA or champion score isn't necessarily enough. Yes, there are some people who will honor the hypercarry, but other people look at whether the hypercarry turns kills into objectives or if they are just trying to pad their scores.
Maybe you hit an unlucky streak with teammates who don't honor, maybe they just thought someone else should get it.
A few tips:
-
Stay cool about mistakes; yours and your teammates. Everyone makes them, and pointing out your teammates' failures just stresses them out. Trying to justify your own leads to arguments. If you know you have a tendency to respond, mute at the first jab.
-
Watch for good plays from your teammates. A quick gj for a good play or ty for a gank encourages your teammates. "Good Kill", especially if it's on someone you got most damage, lets them know you won't rage over a ks (accidental or otherwise) so trolls will realize they can't tilt you that way, and other players won't worry about backing off and possibly letting an easy kill escape
-
Be picky about background music you use. It might seem unrelated, but positive music will help you stay in a better mood. A good mood will make you harder to tilt, and more likely to play with honor. One of my current favorites is Lindsey Stirling.

Don't worry about getting honor. Wondering if you're playing "right" to get them will just stress you out. Everyone earns a bit of honor just from playing, so just because your teammates didn't chose to honor you, doesn't mean you aren't rising.
-
Remember to honor your teammates. You might not get any yourself in a particular game, but if everyone on your team honors someone, everyone on the team gets a slight bonus. If you don't honor, there is no chance for your team to get that bonus. And yes, I am aware that sometimes, you just have a crappy team with no one you want to honor.
Hope these help, and good luck out on the Rift.
