Should we have a pardon or not?

I know a lot of the players on the Field of Justice used to have many bad behaviors that make their accounts get banned (and me too). However, with some people (including me), really really regret about what we did, I mean we deserve the penalty from violating Riot's policy, but should we have a pardon if we are now changed? We did a lot of efforts to make our old accounts reach the goal we wanted (such as: spend a lot of time to play ranked, purchase a lot of dollars to buy skins or something like that, etc...). My old account was banned because of my bad behavior in ranked, I was so tilted and could not make myself calm down, and I know there are many people got banned just like me. My reason here when posting this topic is asking for the readers, for all the players, (and it will be lucky for me if any of the Riot supporters read this) that should we deserve having a pardoned event or something like that to let us have a chance to get our old accounts back?, because that were really the spirited-childs for us - who were the bad guys in the Field of Justice in the past.

Personally i just dont see this working. They already tried it in the past, and if they did do something like this again it would solve the problem. The point of a Permaban is that it is permanent. Not only that but usually you are given a number of chances, and even before (a couple of years ago) numerous chatlogs. If all those doesnt work and it doesnt solve the problem then the only thing left to do is Permaban. Basically telling them they are no longer welcome.

If something like this was used, i just see false promises. People will only be acting nice just to get their account back. Then just like we see now people will ask for another chance. This is what happens when people try to abuse the system. People will always ask for more, and keep pestering till they get it. Again just like they are now. We have a tier list punishment system for a reason.

Riot already tried a system where they gave perma-banned characters another chance.

They picked a number of people that looked like they had promising behavior change, and if they could start a new account and get it to level 20 without getting into trouble, they would give back the account.

The results were abysmal. I believe Riot said more than 95% of the people that were given a second final chance couldn't make it to 20 without displaying poor behavior.

In addition to what AeroWaffle mentioned, I believe it was stated that they didn't want a short-term focused system. "If I'm good on my smurf for X months I'll get my account that I spent all my money on back, then it's back to normal" is a mentality that can be avoided if it's just gone.

I don't think players should just be pardoned for nothing, but that some way to earn an account back (just one time) wouldn't be a bad thing, emphasis on earn.

It wasn't a big deal back in the day when the level 20 experiment was tried, but these days accounts have a lot more stuff on them usually.

That's just me, though. I've experienced firsthand both the crushing feel of a ban AND how unrewarding actually bothering to try and reform on a new account is.
