Hello everyone, I just want you to read my chat logs and point out what was so toxic about this, sadly we all know all chats are taken out of context and I personally believe that it is undeserved, because if you would see full chat, at least half of people out there would realize that I was not mad at all, just making dumb jokes. Think whatever you want, riot said their system is perfect, therefore it is, we deal with it.[slayer-jinx-wink]

It's an edge case. However, the 14-day ban suggests that you already have a history of chat restrictions. Over the internet, what you consider a joke could come off as insulting or passive-aggressive, especially calling people boosted or complaining about their skill (see: game 1 Eve comment) - which is hard to justify as a "joke."

You're obviously a toxic individual, the players in your game don't enjoy it yet you continue after being chat restricted. What did you expect?

Players have been banned for far less, so yeah you definitely deserved the ban.

Try to reform, or you'll be permabanned next. And your chat logs this game are definitely enough to warrant a permaban after having been 14 day banned. If you don't change, you will lose your account and it would have been your fault.

Honestly you were being pretty whiney sounding and not the kind of person I would want to play with.

I probably wouldn't report you, but I also don't report much. I can definitely see why you would get reported.

Note that the severity of the punishment is based on how many times you deserve a punishment. Each time Riot decides you deserve a punishment you get a worse one stacking up to permaban.

As you can clearly see I can contain my "anger" (I wasn't even mad in any of those games, but whatever) in 3 games and still get 14 day ban, for literally, sarcasm, because some sensitive kids will cry about it.

Sorry, I didn't phrase that very well, my apologies.

What I should have said is:

Due to the way you were acting, and your choice of words, with or without of context, I would not want me, or other players, to have to deal with that.

Sarcasm is fine and all, but sarcasm is much harder to get across in text with someone you have never met before than it is irl. That is something you have to keep in mind. You can't write things as though you are saying them, you have to write things so that anyone who reads them can easily pick up on any meanings that the text may contain.

For example you made a comment along the lines of "Eve is worst champ, and you die to her?" Sure, add in a sarcastic tone and it is perfectly fine, but to anyone who doesn't know you it just sounds like an inexperienced idiot flaming their team mates.

It comes down to the fact that regardless of what you meant for it to sound like, a large amount of your chat came out sounding rude. Since it sounded rude and flamey you got punished. The next level of punishment was 14 day suspension, so you got that. If you get punished again I believe that qualifies you for permaban.

It seems like you are justifying a lot of what you said in the first game with, "can't take a joke?". And the people you were talking probably wasn't taking the joke, so why continue?

Second game you were tossing out insults.

Third game, overall negative passive aggressive attitude in chat.

So yeah, I believe the ban was deserved.

My verdict: Punish (simply and mostly because I know that I wouldn't enjoy playing with someone with this kind of behavior).

Game 2:

Immediately we start out with a passive-aggressive remark and an insult because of someones grammar. Joke or not, don't say these kinds of things.

Negative sarcastic and unsportsmanlike comment. Not needed, even if you meant it as a joke.

Pretty tame. Some less than desirable comments from you here sure, but I'm on the fence about this one honestly. I still wouldn't want to play with this kind of behavior though personally.

My verdict: Punish.

Conclusion: You have a habit of making allot of sarcastic remarks that also tend to be passive-aggressive and/or insulting/negative as well also. You claim that they were jokes but keep in mind that not everyone finds these kinds of "jokes" funny or humorous, especially if they're also insults as well. Keep in mind that because this is just text people often have no way of knowing if what you're saying is a joke or not, especially if you don't even make the effort to state that it was meant to be a joke.

My Advice:

  • If you're gonna make a comment that you intend to be a joke, make sure that you state that it is a joke also. Otherwise you have no right to try to pass it off as a joke if you make no effort to state that it is in fact a joke.
  • There are some things that you just don't joke about, such as claiming that someone will go on a losing streak just because of their grammar. Not everyone has English as their primary language, and even if it is often times there's just simply not enough time in a match to use proper grammar in a sentence. Be mindful and more respectful of that in the future.
  • Don't use racial slurs or anything that you know that the filter has to censor. If it's not helpful or constructive or appropriate then just don't say it at all whatsoever.

My overall and final verdict on this case: Punish.

P.S. This is definitely not the worst case that I've seen but ultimately it came down to the question "would I want to play with this kind of person in-game?", hence the uneasy/sketchy punish verdicts on games 1 and 3.

well if you find my post read my chat logs I sent a ticket to support asking if I got a 2 week ban for just this one game and they told me yes. as you see you can go straight to a 2 week ban for being sarcastic towards players.

I'm sorry you felt that my message was automated but it was not. Being sarcastic towards other players has always been a punishable offensive as it's clearly not a positive way to act. If you want to act that way with your friends, that's up to you but behaving like that in League has never been OK.

In this case, it's seems clear that you were being sarcastic towards other players to antagonize them and that's also not OK. It's also very apparent that your teammates did not appreciate the way you were interacting towards them and, even after they told you this in no uncertain terms, you continued to make fun of them. That's not acceptable and it's always been possible to get a 2 week ban for this behavior; it looks like that's what happened here. As a result, the 2 week ban of this account was appropriate and we won't be lifting it.

You're free to make any boards posts you want but it won't affect our stance on this issue. If you have no new concerns, I'll have to consider this matter closed.

"SARCASM" heavily relies on tone and understanding how other people feel to translate into a joke.

It's not a new thing that the Internet does not translate sarcasm well (hence the "/s" that is often used when someone wants to come across as sarcastic).

And it's this sort of attitude,

I was having fun, nunu in the first game who was the only person not flaming, said that I am the only normal person in the team, probably had fun too.

But I got banned, why? Because sensitive kids like you exist. You flame me? I WILL REPLY WITH SARCASM. I will get banned for sarcasm? Well if I can't reply to flame with jokes, I will reply to flame with trolling.

You want war, you will get war, I can have fun with muting, trolling and reporting my whole team for flame (whether they did or didn't is irrelevant because I didn't see anything) and moving on with my life, if that's what community wants, they will get it.

I don't flame people. When someone is exploding in chat, I certainly don't try and pour more gas on the fire by directing sarcastic jokes at them.

I either try to calm them down or I simply mute them and carry on.

You have successfully proved in this thread that you are not to be pitied or sympathised with. And before you start your grand crusade of being an ass, think about what you're doing.

Riot is unlikely to even notice your existence among the millions of games, and it's just as unlikely that you would ever see the same player twice in a game, much less one of us.
