My level 9 friend was banned; why? Riot Help Please!

My friend and roommate (summoner name RottenRobotics) was permanently banned earlier today. He has yet to receive an email from Riot explaining why he has been banned, and honestly there isn't a reason either of us can think of. He usually doesn't say much in game, doesn't use any scripts or other third-party programs, has received quite a few commendations for sportsmanlike behavior in the limited amount of games he's played, and to top it all off, he hasn't even played a game against actual players yet. Only bots. Why has he been banned and, more importantly, can we restore his account if the ban was in error?

Your friend needs to contact player support, by logging in and clicking the "support" tab at the top of this page.

if it was in error, it will be restored. wait patiently for the support to report to the ticket

With the prevalence of bots in low levels and Co-op vs AI games along with your friend having "robotics" in his name I'm sure people thought he was a bot and constantly reported him.

After contacting the proper channels, I retried logging on to my account (after a password change) and it let me through. Thank you to Riot Support that allowed me to get my account back, if you are having this problem, it took me about 3 hours to get back in. Be patient.

RottenRobotics glad you were able to get back on as well. I got an email telling me I was banned and saw until year 2900 lol I was like ummmm??? I'll be dead by then lol. Anyway glad we got answers and good luck.

Riot's banning system makes no sense... Was your friend being reported by BOTS?!?!?!?

If you look at the red tracker you'll see a post that they're trying a few things to handle the ARAM and coopAI bot invasion more quickly than the 2-week ban waves. They're trying to catch them earlier, so as they tweak it there will probably be some new players getting accidentally caught in the crossfire. (hopefully just a few)

Mhm, I'm glad they are too^^ I'm also glad they got back to you so quickly.

You have no idea how happy I was to see WookieeCookie's response to you on the Red Tracker. The bots really ruin the player experience. I'm gonna be happy to see them banned faster.
