Why have I never gotten a chat restriction?

Now this happened, somewhere towards the beginning of Season 6, I remember the MMR reset or something paired me with some people who I genuinely disagreed with on itemization, but lets just say that I did not admonish their choices constructively, or professionally.

What I said was along the lines of "Watching this Mundo die is like watching my own mother die. I could see it coming a mile away, and I can do nothing to stop it. However my mother had the decency to only die once." That'd be worthy of a chat restirction right? I woulda thought so. But ive never gotten one.

Not that i want to.

Well the main issue with this is that you need to consider the following:

  1. Are you like this in all your games? The system is usually lenient when its comes to toxicity unless its harsh (like slurs and the likes) So if you arent always like this, the system could just be saying that since you dont act up all the time, this could be your one "slip up". As mistakes can happen and they do not try to punish people who mess up one time.

  2. Did the person/people in your game actually report you? The only way Riot can punish you is if you actually get reported and the report is legit. For all you know the person didnt care about what you said (nor did anyone else in your match) and just didnt report you. If they didnt report you, Riot wouldnt know to punish you, hence you not getting punished.

Honestly I'm losing faith in the report system. My latest level 30 (I level one per season) has been incredibly toxic since there is no money tied to the account. I mean everything from racial slurs, homophobia, and even inting. It is the only account I have honor 3 on. No chat restrictions, no temporary bans. Meanwhile on my main account I'm consistently getting most honorable every 7/10 games. That's not even an overestimation, I usually play support and am very patient with my children (this thought process is how I managed to not flame them into ashes). My jungler account was chat restricted for verbal harassment, even though the harassment consisted of me asking the enemy team to report our lulu (this is how well I remember this player) who was running down mid with mobi boots, dropping pink wards in their turret, and flaming us because someone banned her champ. I know that player was reported by my team, even if the enemy team didn't report her. I know they reported me, because they said they'd honor lulu and report me cause fuck me freelo is freelo. At this rate I've taken to not speaking in chat at all (exception being the troll account) and seeing if I get any restrictions. If the troll account makes it into season 8 I'll know the system is completely automated with keywords rather than actual reports.

Frankly, that's not that bad (it's not GOOD though, so I'd recommend avoiding it in the future) -- the system does have some built in leniency so that a bad day here and there that doesn't veer into zero-tolerance policies doesn't kill your account outright. If this was a repeated behavior than yes, you'd likely get hit with a restriction. An isolated incident here and there won't trigger the system though.
