High elo's high ego's, low elos high ego's, same shit both ways. Nature of this game you can't escape. Quick suggestion though instead of permabanning people simply perma chat ban them, there's the answer to your toxic chat problem. "Going against terms of service" doesn't warrant someone losing 100$ or more that they've invested in your game, ethics-wise even if you say "tough luck" it doesn't really excuse that fact, not that you guys have cared about the community since S4 anyway. And we both know the majority of banned players are just going to purchase accounts on 3rd party websites, so perma chat ban them and solve two problems at the same time. Good-bye toxic player, yet they can still buy things from your store and generate revenue for you instead of third party sites. Smh make things a lot easier item 3462

The reason why permabans exist is because players who receive them usually exhibit behavior that isn't just acceptable but unsportsmanlike. Even if you did perma-chat ban someone, how do you know that they wouldn't find ways to exhibit other kinds of toxic behavior (i.e. intentional feeding, rage quitting, ping spams, etc.)?

I disagree you are playing their game they can ban you whenever you want. However. A permanent chat ban to me seems a lot more logical than a perma ban. If you perma ban the account, they'll make a new one and be just as toxic as ever. They won't make a new account if theyre toxic for the very reason that they will have lost all that money.

Besides leveling to 30, there's tons of progression as you play the game over a long period of time.

Champions to unlock Runes to unlock Rank to gain And any sort of skin you unlock either through the chest system or through real money

Not every perma-banned player is going to want to play the game again knowing that their many hours worth of progression just got tossed out the window, and will get tossed out the window again if they behave like they did on their previous account.

Short answer: Riot tried that and it didn't work. Long answer: Back when Riot did escalating chat restrictions many who racked up hundreds of them just switched to other forms of griefing instead, many of which are more difficult to detect and prove than your standard chat offenses.
