League Addiction

Alright, so i'm going to start off by saying that my friend of 20 something years is SEVERELY addicted to this game. I don't know why honestly, probably because the only games he was REALLY ever good at were Halo, Smash Bros, and League. But let's go over something, as his best friend (or whatever since all he does is blow people off to play LoL) I think we honestly need a way to stop them in game, dude has no job, no gf, no life other than this fucking game. Now i'm all for immersion, and doing what you love...but...when you aren't pro, have nothing else going for you, and SERIOUSLY have lost/ are losing friends because of the game, it's time to fucking wake up and do something else.

For fucks sake, i'm to the point where I feel that I need to just be in team builder with him and report him constantly to get him perma banned, thats how fucking bad this is getting (no I don't do that I don't even play LoL anymore because of him).

Someone give me some advice or something on this, all he does is' wake up, maybe eat, play league, bathroom, league, league league, maybe food, takes speed, league league league. Rinse and fucking repeat. I'm not just worried about him...i'm sick of him playing a game that is literally turning him into a worse person.

You can't help someone who is not willing.

The game isn't turning him into a worse person, his own personality is an addictive/obsessive one which latches on to a favored form of entertainment and repeats in a hedonistic way. The only way to break such a cycle is for him to either cease enjoying league more than other things, find something new to obsess about(which is tough when locked in a current cycle), or to have a personality shift that is extremely uncommon(maybe once in a person's lifetime at most, not counting the shift to adulthood personality).

Rehabilitation is bullshit and doesn't really happen often in US culture as a forced process, and fuck anyone who tries to tell you otherwise. Even if Lyte comes in here citing a million Psych studies I'll just fire back with a million and one studies finding the opposite.

TL;DR, You can't really do much except maybe get him hooked on something else. GL.

You could tell him how you feel about the situation and if he doesn't change there's not really anything you can do. An addict has to address that they have a problem before you can take any steps forward. If that's how he wants to spend his time, that's how he's gonna spend his time.
