This Instant Feedback System is Bad

Hey is it just me or does anyone else think that this instant feedback ban system is bad. So me and a friend of mine were playing league and we were both being pretty toxic to each other but since i didn't have a mic I was doing it in chat. So I get out of the game and see that RIOT's ban system has given me a 14 day ban. While I understand that I was toxic it wasn't like my friend reported me it was some person who I hadn't said anything to. While the old system of tribunals hopefully would of seen this RIOT's ban system did not. Am I the only one whose had this problem or should i just accept the 14 days.

If you type in Lol, someone, somewhere, will take offense. Even if the reason they "take offense" is to lowkey trigger you or tilt you. This community aint a good one bro. No one wants to focus on the problem, they just try to ignore it.

Don't talk in game or quit LoL basically.

You don't have any idea how unfair the system really is. Imagine you get banned for saying one word and then Riot refuses to help because of their over-confidence in their bot aka IFS. Riot said it themselves, everyone has bad days but that goes out the window fast. Its understandable to take Riot's side because they have such a friendly image though.

So you have no problem with a player like me, whose never had any other bans, suddenly being kicked out of a game that I enjoy a lot for 14 days just because I want to screw around with a friend for 1.

Were there other people in the game forced to see your part of the conversation unwillingly? If so, a 14-day ban can be appropriate given what language you used.

There is a whisper channel you can use to talk to just your friends. If you wish to use otherwise unacceptable language, use THAT instead of team chat.

This is the problem. You can easily mute 2 people saying toxic banter like "you idiot" and stuff. You can't mute inting players. When a player gets banned for something so little, they come back to the community with no restraints and ruin the game with inting and trolling since riot's robot that is the Instant feedback system can't do anything about. LoLhound has found a guy who has found an easy loophole to int without ever getting punished. If you guys think you're so right to ban these people, then why is the community still so famous for its toxicity after Riot's attempt to ban people who weren't even offending anyone or can be easily muted. Its not that its impossible to figure out if someones inting, its that Riot Player Behaviour department is too lazy to monitor it, hell they are too lazy to even check the chat logs for context. There needs to be some sort of change or League of Legends will continue to keep its terrible reputation that Riot has been trying to fix with undedicated employees that just send copypasta responses while ignoring what the community has to say. Riot has some great people in their company but not in every department.

Here's the thing, it's not just you and your friend in the game. Depending on the game mode you play you have up to 5 other players on your team. They don't know that your friends or that that's your idea of joking around-all they see is you verbally abusing and harassing another player. Them reporting you and you getting punished the IFS not working-on the contrary that's the IFS working and doing it's job. It is also you not understanding or taking into consideration the other players in your game who didn't appreciate your behavior. Next time be more considerate of those around you and if you and your friend want to verbally abuse and harass each other for fun then use other mean to do so that don't include team or all chat.

I think that the Instant feedback system is bad because unlike a tribunal where you have players judging you who understand what's going on and can see that you were playing with a friend this system just sees that you called someone an idiot and bans you

Specifically it actually sees that a player reported you in that game, and then checks and sees that you are commonly reported in games that you play. From that it can take a look at the contents of your logs and make a decision. If you just occasionally call a friend an idiot you'll be largely fine.

Triggers after getting a couple reports after a few games. Detects keywords and then ban.* remember its a bot.

Try this: Hang out at a bar with your friend. One where there are plenty of other people, but not so many that you can't be heard. Proceed to call each other racial and homophobic slurs in a loud voice. See what happens.

It doesn't really matter who you were "talking to". Your entire team, or both teams if you were using /all chat, can read what you're saying, and they're welcome to report you if you're spouting fucked up stuff. If you were escalated straight to a 14-day ban, that means you were using hate speech, and that shit ain't cool.

Well....one of your teammates clearly didn't understand what you were doing and reported you.

(also the tribunal had a large tendency to punish everybody that was even close to toxic words)

There's 10 cars on the road. You and your friend decide to race down the road, swerving in and out of lanes dangerously. You don't hit anyone, but a policeman still pulls you over and issues you a ticket.

Regardless of if you were directing your abusive chat at a specific person who accepted it or not, you made 3 (or 8) other people sit through your (all) chat and/or be required to mute it. That merits a punishment.

You are not the center of the universe and must be considerate of others in the game - while you are free to do what you want in a personal discord, curse, phone call, etc, the in game chat is solely for communication that directly will impact the game.

"I was toxic in chat and I got punished because I was reported for being toxic in chat, but I shouldn't be punished for doing what gets people punished because I was doing it to a friend so everyone else reading it should put up with it."
