Banned for Using Third Party Software

I have noticed a lot of other people have been getting this, as well as a couple of my own friends. I received a perma ban for apparently exploiting the game, although all I have ever used is Curse Voice with the people that I play with. Is this the result of some new ban detection system that Riot is trying out or are they just trolling.... Like 3 of my friends got their accs banned today for "scripting, 3rd party software or exploits", most of them are like bronze 5 and their match history would not entertain the idea of scripting. I fear that if I submit a ticket I'm going to get a generic automated response, as well as the fact that Riot probably won't disclose the "evidence" of me cheating because it's against their security policy or something... help a fellow nerd out :)

I took a look at your account and the detection in this case was for actions that happened when your account was compromised awhile back. >_< I've gone ahead and removed the suspension from the account as you've already been through account recovery.

Do you know if there are any plans to eventually account for this sort of thing? It appears that you likely have some sort of timestamp window for when a violation took place and you also know the window in which the account was compromised.

I don't know how the system works. I dont know if an actual person reviews every potential violation and this specific case was made by human error or if there is an automatic system which puts violators in some sort of punish pit. Either way it might be beneficial to help negate these false positives if the system also was able to exclude certain things.

In this Case @Cluvie you went above and beyond to personally assist, but I would know I would feel terrible if I knew there were people out there who were punished but should not have been.

its funny, i sent in 3 different tickets to y'all when this happened to me and i got was sorry we can't do anything about it. Not a single rioter said they'd look into it even thought it was an unfair and unprecedented ban

I sent a lot of tickets as well, in the last one a rioter said hes gonna look into it and then came back a few days later and said he has "found no mistake" and when I asked for proof he ignored me.

If you know that you're doing nothing wrong then you should have nothing to worry about or fear there honestly.

That should be the case but it isn't, in january Ive received the same email saying Im banned for using 3rd party programs, ever since I kept sending tickets to riot support and they would always say the same thing acting like Im some kind of criminal, straight from the support ticket: "I can't speak to any specific programs that you may have used or why you used them but I can say that the only reason that we took action against this account was because it used scripts, hacks, exploits or unauthorized third-party programs that provided a competitive advantage to it. " So basically hes saying he doesnt even know if I actually used a program or what it is but they still banned me, after that he said: "In situations like this, we only take action against accounts when we are absolutely sure of our evidence." Of course they wouldnt show me proof either, how can they show me proof for something I havent done, in another thread like this someone was in a similar situation where riot told him hes hacking and ignored him afterwards, I have opened another ticket and I will keep doing it until they do something about this...

I can't speak for your situation as the only 3rd party program that I've ever used is Skin Installer Ultimate (I don't use it anymore just fyi) but I've never been warned nor banned for doing so. I will admit though that it seems that Riot is getting a bit too trigger-happy with these supposed 3rd-party bans and some clarity on them would be great. I would advise against opening up so many tickets and instead just keeping trying to use the same ticket for as long as you possibly can and only open up a new one if it's absolutely necessary.

well I have sent them 2 tickets 4 months ago, after that they gave me some really annoying answer I gave up since it looked like they wouldnt admit they made a mistake no matter what, I only created a 3rd one a few days ago, but this time I will spam them with tickets until they do something about it...

And that will most likely get you nowhere and get you ignored even more. I understand you're upset, but just spamming them with multiple tickets at once out of rage isn't gonna solve anything, so just don't do that.

no I dont mean at once, Im saying i will be persistent. They usually just say they have "concrete proof" and then they close the ticket, so I'll make a new one right after that every time from now on

Of course some are lying but there are most likely untold more who haven't bothered to comment. The thing is automated banning is never a good idea cause it will make mistakes and the customer gets screwed

Manual reviews will also lead to mistakes though. To err is human and what not. One could argue that an automated system is also going to be more objective and make less mistakes. It looks for certain variables, and simply detects whether or not they are present in the data without bias or emotion. Not only that, an automated system is required, because there is just no way you could have people looking through every single game or case in a timely manner.

I have a feeling that the "untold more" innocents number in the 10's. While the lying guilty parties number in the 10's of thousands. Gotta break a few eggs. If only capital punishment were a viable punishment for cheating.

Could you look into mine too (its called "diamond2kappa" for.. reasons)? I have no idea why it got banned and the only 3rd party program I used was a client-side skin changer, which shouldnt be a problem ( http://mobaskins.com/skin-preview-league-skins-free/ ) :s

this happened to me as well and i never have used a 3rd party program and never will i am b3 and if you guys could take a look it be great

Can you please take a look at mines? Riot support team is just copying and pasting the terms as a response. I worked so hard to get to where I am. I never used any programs except for Skype, Teamspeak, Curse, Pandora, Youtube, etc. Thank you so much

Dear Riot Support Team, It is an honored to be accused of using "programs" for having great mechanics (side stepping), amazing communication, and awesome shotcalling. I'm not asking you to forgive me and give me a second chance. I'm telling you that you are making a mistake for something that I did not do. You guys won't show me any evidence and only respond to my ticket and everyone's else with a "scripted" letter stating the terms and service of the game. The only way I can show you that I don't use "programs" to get an advantage over other players is by degrading myself and proving to you that I suck. That all these years of grinding for hours and getting to where I am, Plat II, was by programs? I have 185 wins and 168 losses. My most played champs is Leona with a 61.8% win rate and 1.4/5.3/13.2 KDA, while my thresh is currently at a 43.5% win rate, therefore if I were using "programs" I would be landing all my hooks and be winning games. I don't know if there were players that reported me for "cheating" or what? I rarely play normal and aram but when I do, I go like 20/5 because the system matches me with bronzes and silvers. I don't know if they reported me for my map awareness and mechanics. Please look into this. "Its better that 10 guilty men go free than one innocent man is wrongfully convicted." I truly stand by this quote and its meaning, because I am that one man and many others who are in this same situation right now. I truly believe that anyone who is abusing the system should be permanent banned, but I cannot sleep into I know that I am cleared for something I did not do and will not do. Thank you for your time. Please reconsider and look into my account again. I believe that those who do the right thing will be rewarded.

Same exact thing happened to me :(. Curse Voice is all I've ever used...I'm an honest player, I'm also terrible, and haven't used scripts once...I don't think a scripting player would even be silver 4. I would urgently like my account back, as holidays (Finally get to relieve stress from exams!) Begin tomorrow, and only last two weeks...

Unacceptable. This level of amateurish account checking is simply unacceptable. If an account has been compromised, and returned, it should be flagged for manual review to determine if an account deserves a ban.

Very basic stuff here, folks- and this lack of procedure is indicative of the complete and utter lack of professionalism riot and tencent have. Every aspect of the company I have ever read about or heard anecdotally indicates that riot is way in over their heads, and any and all normal procedures a reasonable and staffed-by-competent-people compnay would do are anathma, and moreover, not even on the radar for riot.

More Confirmation riot is just a bunch of amateurs who stumbled across the goose that lays the golden egg.

I have experienced the exact same issue, please may you take a look at my case i have detailed in multiple emails the cause of my ban and how it was not me, i am really frustrated because i all i am getting seems to be automated messages despite the proof and screenshots i have provided.

I have bought multiple skins, the last one in fact was a couple of days ago, now why would i risk my skin collection (i also have hextech annie) and use a 3rd party software to cheat knowing full well that i would get banned for doing so?

Hey Cluvie, I live in a group house with a bunch of people who play (all bronze and silver). I got banned for third party yesterday, but I have never used anything involving scripting, just Curse. No one else was banned but me. I only play on that computer. Can you please look into this? I have screen recordings from all my games.

if they bought the accounts (not saying they did), and the person before had used anything, the accounts would get ban from that. also, errors do happen and they can send in a support ticket. i don't know the details so i can't really say more than that.

riot doesn't give the information on what you used, but they will check to see if it's right most of the time if you are sure.

viruses can also cause problems sometimes, so that could also be the issue, i really don't know the details like i said so these are guesses at what it could be.

Have you had any luck with riot support? I'm currently waiting to be transferred to a "Player Behavior Specialist". It's really annoying because on my account all I needed was 8 more champs, and only a handful of runes, not to mention the ~100 skins(including some rare ones) I have.

Best of luck to everyone who got hit with an unfair ban and is waiting for riot to help.

The exact same thing has happened on my account. My email linked to my league account was compromised while I was working on a big project for my schools Theater department. I come back and see my league account is permabanned without a second thought for exploiting/scripting. It is extremely clear if you look at my match history I do not cheat. I have decently bad win rates and bad scores which a cheater would not have. I have also spent over 1,800 dollars on my account and supported the game ever since the middle of season 2. After the ban I have sent Riot at least 7 support tickets and they tell me the same thing that they have "Decisive Evidence" that I have cheated. For supporting this game for so long and never receiving a warning or ban EVER on my account I feel this is extremely unjustified. I was not even home for the entire week I was banned. I want an actual person to look over my banning and explain to me what justified this ban. Please rito assist a lowly silver player who just wants his main back. :)

i read the link on "Tips for Account Security" the only thing i can check off is that i dont have an anti virus. does that mean im gonna get banned repeatedly? That is basically telling me i should just quit the game unless i download one.

Yeah same happened to me and im attempting to find out more information via the support system but keep getting the run around they do seem friendly though. Ive spent alot of money and time on league to have it taken away for nothing and i dont play for ranked im only silver v last season, i just think its not right. Ill update you if i get any more info

Would mind helping out a little bit because I am in the same situation but I don't even use any of those software. And I spent toot much money on my account, I do not want to lose it for no reason
