The report system is just as able to be abused by trolls as it is to remove them

My accounts been banned mostly for getting reported for calling people trolls or asking the other team to report people who are clearly trolling and feeding, and more than likely adult language. While i acknowledge that this game doesnt let you swear its retarded dont ban people if you dont like foul language implement a game wide censor, or stop banning people for it. Meanwhile Riots about to unban tyler1 cuz hes famous and toxic while normal players way less toxic get told to GTFO.

This report system lets troll report people who they trigger and gets people who aren't actively trying to ruin peoples game banned while these trolls just create new accounts because the only thing they care about is screwing with people. The best part are the players on other teams who agree to report you when you ask them to report a clear troll/feeder or a troll complains about you asking them to stop feeding or calling them a troll.

Its sad that this game has devolved to the point where the only things you can say are great play and you're a good player even to people who are terrible or are actively trying to ruin a game and where opponents find it amusing to goad players who are trying and report them while laughing at the trolls and allowing them to continue. At this point im glad to be done w this game its sad because LCS keep making me want to play but the community is such trash its just not worth it.

The report system doesn't help make the community better it just gives riot the ability to ban people so they have to waste more time and or money reacquiring champs and runes etc.

My accounts have been banned for breaking TOS ex such as asking for reports and harassing others. While i acknowledge that I did in fact harass others, I feel this game doesn't let me harass others as I see fit. I believe riot is about to unban tyler 1, but I have no proof of the matter.

The game has no issue with players swearing. However, using it to harass other players is an issue.

Player 1 is toxic.

Player 2 becomes toxic due to provocation by Player 1.

Every other player in the game then has to deal with two toxic players rather than a single one.

If you aren't engaging in any punishable behaviour, the reports will just be discarded and won't affect you.

The best part are the players on other teams who agree to report you when you ask them to report a clear troll/feeder or a troll complains about you asking them to stop feeding or calling them a troll.

Asking for reports is punishable. There is no difference between 1 and 9 players reporting someone after a game (since all it does is flag the game for review), so soliciting reports is just a form of harassment.

Good Afternoon,

I'm going to try to put this as best I can, but in short: Don't feed into the actions and behaviors of other players.

There are going to be games that have either teammates or opponents who are going to be toxic, are going to troll, and/or going to do something that violates the Terms of Use in some way, shape, or form. Though it's unfortunate, don't allow yourself to become apart of the problem.

Foul language is...foul. In real life would you walk up to a stranger and cuss them out? Probably not. Why is it okay to do it to strangers over text chat? In short, it's not okay. If someone upsets you for whatever reason, don't fire back with language and anger that they may be firing at you.

Addressing negative behavior is reserved for reporting post-game. Don't ask your team or opponents to report someone for a reason that you've determined they should be reported for. Let each summoner make that decision internally. If a player is truly exhibiting actions that are against the Terms, you won't be the only one clicking that report button anyway.

You think it's being abused because trolls can report people they trigger?

Let's assume the person 'triggered' is you. There are things you can do to keep that from happening:

  1. Disable All Chat. It can do wonders, and the best part is, you can't see what the enemy is typing! I had an ARAM yesterday and an opponent was spamming "ez" and "ggez" all game. I just disabled All Chat before I let it get to me :]

  2. If it's a teammate, mute them! You can't be triggered if you shut down the communication that could potentially get you triggered.

The beauty is that not only could you do this for yourself, but also help others from also being triggered by spreading the word! Maybe this will allow for this "trash" as you say, to be cleaned up and make the environment better off :]

Umm yeah? That's the nature of any human creation. Just as easy to use for misdeeds as for good. It falls to individuals to both use it responsibly and not put themselves in situations where it can be used against them.

Interestingly, I believe false reports actually eventually decrease the value of your own reports. I.e. if you frequently report players who do NOT end up meriting punishment, I think the way the system weights your reports decreases.

This was a feature of the old system, and I can't imagine they didn't carry it over.
