Do you have your Chat Logs? Certain behavior (typically hate speech, threats, and encouragement for players to commit violence against themselves) can indeed immediately escalate a punishment to a 14-day ban.
If those AREN'T present in your log, there's a small chance that too harsh a ban was applied. We'd have to see your logs to be able to make that claim though.

No, seriously. When Riot perma-bans you, they are doing so knowing that they may be losing a customer. They are banning despite that possibility because they believe that you're much more harmful to the other people's enjoyment of the game to be worth any potential money you could give them.

No, seriously. When Riot perma-bans you, they are doing so knowing that they may be losing a customer. They are banning despite that possibility because they believe that you're much more harmful to the other people's enjoyment of the game to be worth any potential money you could give them.
From a monetary perspective, Riot thinks that these rule-breaking players will eventually cost them more money than they give back. A toxic community will cause other paying players to leave and will make potential players less likely to start playing the game because of the negative in-game environment.
I'm glad that Riot does care about long-term customer happiness instead of focusing on short-term profits (the profits from toxic players).

Yes I agree with you, I don't think Riot bans people to get money from the banned people. I just wanted to add some additional insight into the discussion. Riot is still looking for money, but they're not being shady about how they're trying to get money.

Buying content in league of legends is buying access to certain features. Much like buying a pass to be let into an amusement park.
If you walk around disneyland screaming profanities at people for being in line in front of you, you better bet they will remove you from the park. Same thing with league, you pay for access but if you behave poorly then Riot has every right to take it away.
You agreed to the summoner's code when you installed league. It shouldn't be unexpected that acting toxic can result in losing your account and its content that you paid for. Simple as that.

Have you read the Terms of Use? You don't need to be a lawyer to understand them.

Riot can suspend players if they think it is in the best interests of the community and the company to do so. That's why you see lots of red replies to those permabanned posts of people claiming one game and then the red post stating they had a repeated offense and the OP never saying another word again.
It's like stabbing someone with a knife and getting caught doing it and wondering why you are going to jail and having a trial while the person who ran a red light got a fine they can pay by mail even though it was the first you stabbed someone and the car's first time running a red light.
If your actions were in a more severe category, you are going to get a more severe punishment.
You don't get free chances to be toxic to the community.
If you got a 14 day ban as your first punishment, that means your behavior was pretty bad.

There are over 30 million currently open on ticket support. So you know. It is the scamming and greedy way they are doing now to their players. Riot is committing a big crime.
First off, this is basically made up facts. Secondly, you'd have no way of knowing how many tickets are or aren't open. Thirdly? There's nothing criminal about banning players in the slightest, as per the Terms of Use you signed.

What does "talking shit" mean in this context? Riot has a fairly zero-tolerance approach on a few things.
