Do you have your Chat Logs? Certain behavior (typically hate speech, threats, and encouragement for players to commit violence against themselves) can indeed immediately escalate a punishment to a 14-day ban.
If those AREN'T present in your log, there's a small chance that too harsh a ban was applied. We'd have to see your logs to be able to make that claim though.
Excessive toxicity is punished more swiftly and more harshly.
Rather than focus on Riot for punishing your behavior, why don't you focus on what you did wrong and learn from it?
The punishment levels for are based on severity and frequency, not just one or the other. That's why you see lots of red replies to those permabanned posts of people claiming one game and then the red post stating they had a repeated offense and the OP never saying another word again.
It's like stabbing someone with a knife and getting caught doing it and wondering why you are going to jail and having a trial while the person who ran a red light got a fine they can pay by mail even though it was the first you stabbed someone and the car's first time running a red light.
If your actions were in a more severe category, you are going to get a more severe punishment.
You don't get free chances to be toxic to the community.
If you got a 14 day ban as your first punishment, that means your behavior was pretty bad.

You could start by adding the chat logs of the game(s) on your post/ comment section. Through here we'll give you ideas & opinions on what caused the result(s).
In most cases we're in a denial to what we did wrong. This can be a great place for you to get a better view of where the limit goes.
