So this is my first and likely last post on the discussion boards for League. I started playing this game for fun, but over the past couple of years, started playing ranked, and noticed a much more competitive edge coming into my life for this game. I always wanted to reach that elusive plat or diamond ranking, but it's pretty difficult, if not downright impossible, to achieve as preferred support. Last month I logged in to see the following permaban report log:

Please note I used dashes to replace letters, to avoid any issues with the discussion board. Foul language was used, but there is also an in-game filter that can be applied.

So I've had temporary bans in the past for toxicity (which, I'll admit, could be pretty bad, much worse than above), but recently received a perma-ban based on the above report card. Last I've checked, every one of the champs that were flaming me in the above games are still playing (honestly, it's been so long since my ban that I don't remember the player names that I was responding to; took a while for Riot to respond to my support ticket, but that's understandable with the holidays). In the time I've been banned, I was doing a lot of reading on the forums and learned that apparently asking for additional reports 1. does nothing, and 2. is apparently a reportable offense. I just find it interesting that I get placed on the same level as people using racial slurs, death threats, and sexual prejudices. It kind of seems like an issue when they want you to list specific things in chat in the post-game report menu, but also want you to mute the toxic players.

Also, when I said "i'm done" it was more of a venting than actual afk'ing. I guess I just find it intriguing that I'm deemed the most toxic in this game when I have encountered much worse (in my opinion) behavior from others. Again, not that that justifies my chat, but still...

I guess I'll just stick to watching streamers like Sirhcez, Scarra, and Imaqtpie play. Much less stressful and competitive knowing you can't do anything about the outcome of their games.

The fact you do not think you were toxic shows exactly why you SHOULD have been banned. Go play basketball with some random people in a league, talk to them like that. Will you still be playing for said team? No. case closed.

Let me start by letting you know I am Extremely Competitive and over 4 years Still Have Played less than 50 Ranked matches because I Hate losing that much. I was banned once for 2 weeks and all I can say is that after thinking it over, I realized that typing At someone i was never going to meet in real life and getting upset about it was worthless. Here's the thing,

  1. why am i letting someone i don't know make me upset?..... (even if they are throwing a perfectly winnable game) The simple fact is i will NEVER See this person in real life and honestly i don't even need to lol with them EVER if i remember their Summoner Name.

  2. why not just mute them? we all know that TILTing is by far the worst thing you can do and will make every game spiral out of control. If i ever have that much of a problem now days with someone acting silly, i just mute them. It is super easy and relieves so much stress its crazy. Without that toxic player typing away, you cant be bothered and can concentrate on the match. Yes, its hard to win a 4v5 but at least it doesn't make playing the 4v5 unbearable.

  3. will I win this match if i tilt and just type back in response? The answer is 100% No. Every time Ive ever played into the argument all it did was make me more angry and made the match that much more unbearable. We ALL HATE wasting time playing a match we know is a loss, but sitting and arguing about it the whole time just causes resentment, and i HATE when that leads to plp NOT Surrendering just to make you tilt even more.

  4. if im already tilted should i continue to play? After the first match if i was upset i might play one more. But after 2 strait balls busters if i'm upset I will force myself to stop and take a break. Like i said I Hate Losing........ am i gonna win more games if im already pissed and tilted before i start the next match?, NO, of course not. So why not take a break, get your mind off of the fact that your team just threw a 50min long game you could have won at 30 and try to remember why you started playing in the first place.

Im not saying i still dont get into it with plp sometimes, but i can say that i have started to like the game again and i feel like im winning more game..... (whether or not that true i have no idea) But i guess it all depends on how many times you've been banned. Should you have been banned for those chats? I wouldnt think so, my chat was way worse when i was banned, but like i said i was only banned once.

Game 1: Firstly, mute, report, and move on. There is no need to call for reports, ever. No matter how much a turd people can be, you don't need to demean them. You don't need to agitate them. And you certainly don't need to bring a flame war into all chat.

I could forgive you for the first game. It was ugly, but not that bad

Seriously? That's the second thing you said in the game. Maybe his game crashed. You could have said something like "don't worry about ganking, farm up the jungle, try to get back in the game" but instead you decide to be an ass. You had a choice in the beginning of the game to be a team player or a toxic burden. You choose the latter. And continued it throughout the game.

Third game Your second line was that of quitting. Even if you played your heart out that game, the tribunal would only see the text, which is a bad sign. And then you get to this

Or maybe, you could have said something such as "Jg, can you come top to gank? Riven has no summs"

But no. Instead of being a team player, you get upset at the team not playing to exactly your specifications. You whine, complain, quit, and blame others

This isn't about calling for reports. This isn't about the slurs used by kalista in the first game. This is about you insulting your team, with the second word out of your mouth in each of the three games.

Back when I voted in the tribunal, I was on the lenient side of voters. Keep that in mind when i say that I would have decided to vote to punish at the end of the second game, and read the third game merely as a formality.

It's 3 chats of a guy complaining that his team mates were either verbally abusing him or going afk, both of which I think are bannable offenses right? So.. valid complaints? I mean, you could have been nicer about it or simply not complained but it seems to me like you're getting bullied a lot for being a bad player, and that's not right. Bullying naturally leads to this kind of behavior. They should be banning the teammates.

if you've had previous bans any bad behaviour in the slightest will get you perma banned without question. I used to be a negative player, but after 2 banned accounts I learned my lesson and its actually pretty easy not to flame and be annoying. Either don't talk at all or only be positive :) and you will never get any punishment

i think this definitely deserves a 2 week ban.. but i'm not sure why this would go straight to permaban. unless you've already been 2 week banned in which case, permaban deserved.

when i got banned it was for similar things, flaming my team and just being an ass in general, but i think what did it was the fact that you kept saying f-g, even though it's in quotation marks.. i get that you were just pointing out kalista was being an idiot but i think riot would punish anyone for saying that word regardless of context.

You were toxic, consistently, over long periods of time, showing zero signs of stopping.

Is it really surprising that you got banned after already having a bunch of previous punishments levied against you already?

I guess I just completely fail to understand how it could be a surprise that your actions would eventually lead up to a permanent ban when you've already received temporary bans in the past.

It's not this situation alone, it's that you get consistently reported, have for a long time, and somehow after all the punishments already, kept acting the same way.

The amount of toxic behavior that has to be thrown out to get to that point is unbelievable. I get salty at times, I'm sure everyone does, but I've not so much as had a warning message pop up saying I got reported for anything. I can't even imagine how bad I'd have to be to get banned.

I notice that you say "report" a lot. Trust me don't say that, for some reason the system detects it as negative behavior. Once you get mad just stop chatting and wait till the game is over to report.

If you are really on tilt here is a great tip for you. Type the worst thing you can say to that person and leave it in the chat box. Read it over as many times as you like. DON'T send it. Just imagining the person's reaction is enough satisfaction ^_^.

Besides that, better to say nothing than to say anything at all. The positive people keep saying to improve your behavior. League of Legends designed a special system that allows you to MUTE other people! AMAZING!. Hate em? Mute em. done.

Rito created pings so that you wouldn't have to say anything that can be used against you even if its the tiniest thing that you perhaps believe isn't negative. The pings cover mostly what you want to do, the only reason i would say anything is to say gj, gg, or at the end game ez game ez lyfe.

Basically, you spent most of the games complaining about other players, complaining about 'bad players', and just general complaining. On top of that, your record of temporary bans led up to a permanent ban.

In each game you say 'I'm done, I'm not helping you'. That alone, to me, is worth a punishment.
