Possible Ban Appeal

So I got perma banned on my account iv'e had since near mid Season 1 and I admit I was toxic but didn't think I merited a full perma ban. I wrote a ticket and tried to appeal it and kinda felt I got the run around with no real Answer if I can appeal it or not. I'm willing to accept the usual "ha you're toxic you deserved it" comments which ironically are toxic remarks. I just want to get my point out there. I've posted my remarks from my Ticket too so others can judge.

I have had friends and seen others get Perma Ban and they managed to appeal it and get it revoked and ho man they were beyond toxic. I mean i was toxic in a few games yea but these guys were like "Racial slur/insults I never knew could be insults" kind of toxic. But to me this game is more than a game. It's a community and I love it and want to continue to be a part of it. I have a lot of pride but now I feel I can't play with my friends anymore or even socialize with them since iv'e been banned. I feel betrayed and hurt by myself because I let myself down by falling into the Toxic crowd. As a Support main since mid season 1 and support player of countless other games I feel the burden even more.

I usually just mute everybody from the start of the match but sometimes I don't cause I put more faith in my team and enemy team than I should and i'm very quickly reminded why I usually mute everybody. I gave in and ended up taking the Troll bait and giving them a response which was wrong on my part and I completely understand that.

Point being I want to continue to fight this and try to appeal it because I refuse to just go make a new account. To me that's unfair because it doesn't teach you anything other than being toxic is acceptable.

As is the system teaches you that you can be toxic, get perma banned and just go make a new account. I don't think that's right. I think we need a system that'll let you appeal to it. I figured something like this

>Take a Perma Banned account >They file an Appeal >Judging on the remarks and what they were banned for it may approve or deny their appeal >Racial Slurs/Sexist remarks/Hate Speech should be auto deny >It doesn't unban the account if they're Approved but instead puts them in a temp 5-10 game setting >They are chat restricted for these approval games >If they preform well enough, proper communication and no toxic remarks then they can appeal to be unbanned

I think making them play thru a a set of games to prove they understand that their entire account relies on it and they can get unbanned would be a start and let Riot tweak whatever they want to the system later or whenever.

I am completely open ears and willing to do anything to prove myself even if it means making a new account and letting Riot literally spectate and watch to judge if i'm doing better or not. I want to prove how sincere I am and how much this means to me.

I will continue to make Threads to try to reach out until I get I can get a confirmed answer.

With the new reform system (since Aug-2015), its lesser about "whether your chat is bad enough", but more about "how often were you bad".

The new reform system works in 4 punishment tiers:

  1. 10 Game Chat Restrict
  2. 25 Game Chat Restrict
  3. 14-Day Ban
  4. Permaban

When you get (validly) reported a bunch of times, you'll get punished and everytime you get punished, you'll move up the punishment tier. So what happened was you were punished again since your 14-day ban which takes you to the permaban tier.

You are looking for more chances, but they did mention in your 14-day ban email that your next punishment will be a permaban.

Then again, we don't know how seriously toxic your chats were, as we don't ahve access to your log. But most likely, you won't get your account back and will just be bothering Riot's support team.

As someone who's in much the same boat as you are (my account isn't/wasn't nearly as old as yours, though), I just want to wish you luck in your endeavor as long as you remain positive and actually want to prove yourself.

I'm not going to lie, you're highly unlikely to succeed in this. Then again, though; nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I do appreciate that this isn't just another thread blindly calling out everyone else and refusing to acknowledge that you were the problem, though. Props for that.

It may interest you to know that I've also tried appealing my ban. I always told myself I wasn't going to actually do it, but I've just felt so inspired lately by everything I've been trying to contribute to this board the past few days.

My odds are still slim, to be honest, but like I said earlier, nothing ventured. Even if it doesn't work out, I'll continue to do what I can here.

Just so you know, my own appeal didn't pan out. I didn't really expect it to, but it kinda stings nonetheless.

It feels kinda bad knowing that the only real option I have for showing reform is arduously grinding a new account and possibly throwing more money at Riot in the process because having to divide fairly limited early IP gains between desired champions and crucial runes is still iffy gameplay design, but I have nobody to blame but myself.

Bump for notice.

Still trying to fight this and prove myself. I refuse to make a whole new account. I want to appeal this and reach out.

Bump. Hoping to at leastget it upvoted to help possibly get an answer.

I miss playing but don't want to make a new account.

Making a new account's your only option.

I've been trying to play on my new account, but it's only level 19 and I already want to just stop playing due to how dull it is. Maybe your willpower's better than mine, though.

Well 5 months ago and I haven't made a new account or even played on a friends. I've just watched this game get worse and worse while ACTUAL toxic people go unpunished.

Damn shame. It is a truly sad day to not only see actual Toxicity go unpunished but to see this game dying and doing worse and worse. Maybe Overwatch and Blizzard really was the League Killer.

I was recently permabanned for being toxic and it never went to the 3rd tier of punishment and I was wondering if the 14 day ban could be issued instead of the permaban

BeatRiderVoltic3/16/2017, 9:15:58 PM1 votes

So here we are a year later.

I still haven't been unbanned and honestly stopped playing all together. I got horribly depressed and anti social in the following months of being banned since League was actually a big part of my life till I got banned for essentially "saying mean things"

I stopped going out with friends and being a part of my local community as I refused to make a new account and just became a shut in. I'm slowly getting into going out again and trying to become more social but what I had before was a team, a huuuuge group and community of friends to play with and was a part of a social scene in my local city. I felt alienated and like I didn't belong there when I was banned and tried desperately to appeal the ban. I miss being able to confidently talk to other players without feeling like iv'e let them down and contributed to the meme that is "League is the most toxic community ever"

The system NEEDS a ban appeal because otherwise you're telling people it's completely fine to be toxic, rage and flame all game, get perma banned and just make a new account and rinse and repeat. You don't require ANY verification for an account either so it's easy to just make a throw away account within a minute

I got escalated several times to high ups to talk about a ban appeal and every time i got the same brick wall reason "we don't unbann or revoke bans under any circumstance" Yet several Pro" players have been unbanned because they're making Riot money. You can't make an exception for them and not every other player. That's a biased system and unfair.

You claim you can't unban an account but we've seen it happen several times now with various "Pro" players and if that was the case then why wouldn't you just delete the account? It's been almost a year and my account is still there.

Even a system like linking a second Summoner name to your account as a "trial" account to prove you've changed and are a more positive player in attempts to appeal a ban would be great. Riot always claims people go on to be more positive after facing punishment for toxicity yet you won't let them try that so how do you come up with that claim?

So you won't unban it or really let me appeal it officially yet you'll keep my account there to taunt me it feels as a big reminder that I got banned for "toxic behavior" when a system was installed to punish people with opinions and criticism they didn't agree with.

If you're not going to unban me or let me appeal then PLEASE implement an appeal system for cases such as mine where there wasn't any "large insult" or "Hate speech" in the chats. And implement a system that requires better verification for accounts.

Because as a long term players since year 1 I have only seen and confirmed your system ALLOWS people to be toxic, flame and insult nonstop and then get banned and simply make a new account and continue.

Tyler1 proved so and Riot had to actually make a new system JUST to find and ban him on all accounts he creates.

BeatRiderVoltic2/3/2018, 5:21:11 AM1 votes

Here we are two years later and still no way to appeal a Ban or anything.

They'll unban Tyler1 who is LITERALLY THE most toxic player to ever grace this game with a record of almost 30+ accounts Perma banned and a HUGE factor as to WHY the Tribunal was completely overhauled.

But a player who didn't say any actual insults other than saying his teammates were trolling (which they were and int feeding and they even admitted to doing so) has literally zero way to appeal to anything.

I caved and made a new account and have done stellar on that and hitting constant honor updates and free keys for being supportive and honorable. But that's not enough?

What do I have to do to get my main unbanned? I don't wanna hear "uhh they don't revoke bans"

We've already proved and seen that they do indeed. Or is it special treatment? They're unbanned and revoked bans only because their big internet personalities? Is it money? Unbanning Tyler1 and others gets you more money and attention doesn't it? You'll throw some of the most ACTUAL toxic players back in and revoke their bans because it gets the game more attention?

So if I start streaming and get big and noticeable and jump thru the good boy hoops do I get my main back? I'm not mocking or angry. I'm genuinely curious.

Clearly there IS a way to appeal a ban since you've revoked it for those types of people.

Tyler1 didn't get his accounts back though.

Riot does not undo permabans unless they were a mistake. This also applies to other punishments more or less. Sorry.
