Unfair Punishment

I tried to start a normal solo queue game by my self hoping to practice Ezreal. Everything went fine, my random teammates seemed nice and cheerful and it seemed like we were in for a fun match. After bans were finished it was my turn to pick my champion. As I search for his picture a notice pops up and it reads, "You have been disconnected. Attempting to Reconnect." My timer winds down and I end up being kicked for the queue and being timed out a for a short time. I play with the lowest setting and do everything I can to have a secure and reliable connection, but if it gets dropped it's not my fault. I didn't want it to, so why should I get punished for something I have no control over? I don't know if something like this could get my account banned for leaving queues like that but that would be unfair to someone who did nothing wrong.

Be aware of any security issues that your wi-fi has, or what the time is. Riot is alright when one mistake happens... HOWEVER. If you got a time, that means: You have left many games before this.

LeaverBuster is an automated system, and it doesn't punish people for a single leave. It takes a ton of leaves.

It is also a fairly advanced algorithm. It can detect significant time spent taking useless or unhelpful actions, such as running around your own base/jungle, have abnormally low CS/damage, etc. It also notices if you leave a game and reconnect, if you disconnect 20 minutes into game, and so on.

It's an automated system for the leavebuster, it's not like a person accidentally bans you.

Leavebuster gives you some wiggle room as far as leaving/afk'ing/disconnecting from games to give you the freedom to have accidental leaves like the situation you described.

But once you've been absent from games for enough time, the system starts punishing you. So as long as this isn't a common thing, you'll be fine.

It's not a common thing. Although I do see the logic in your statement and agree with you, it was the first solo queue game I tried to play. For me to be timed out was kind of irritating and defeating. I'm not saying the system is bad or is wrong but I feel we should at least be able to appeal our time outs.

It cant get u banned. You can get 5 games lpq if it happens multiple times meaning next 5 games u will have to wait 5-20 min before it que u so system can make sure u can stay connected for certain time period. Dont worry if u didnt get punishment immediately, you wont get it at all. And its only if it happens when u already entered game. Nothing at all can happen to u if u dc in champ select, except u gonna wait 5 mins before u can que again
