Ranked - you go to Loading Screen and you are the only M7

Concerns?

I get a kick out of champ select everyone wants to coach you what to play, and then you reach loading screen and they don't have any mastery, or even M1.

Can Riot hot patch this? If you aren't M7 on that champ, you cant play it in ranked. I realize people can just farm it out, but Riot NEEDS to raise the bar of entry into ranked. ATM there is no accountability, and we shouldn't always have to go to OP GG to look up people and see if its gonna be a troll game.

Getting M7 is hard ; ;. Well it's not hard if you spam the champ. You might not be spamming that champ if you're not consistently getting your role.

So what happens if this rule were in place, but you don't get your primary role?

It's cool guys, this M7 Nami ADC gonna carry us to fame.

Just about everyone on both teams is like that in low elo.

Your team doesnt play their champs, and neither does the enemy.

And you're still in their elo despite you playing champs that you think you know. Just focus on improving yourself. Dont worry what other people do.

Question; how many Champions do you have at Mastery Rank 7?

If the answer is anything less than twenty, you do not qualify to play Ranked Summoner's Rift, and if the answer is any less than twelve, you do not qualify to play Ranked at all.

Because, since you need at least twelve Champions to play Ranked Flex 3's, and at least twenty to play Ranked Solo/Duo and Flex 5's, it would only follow suit that, if you need Mastery Rank 7 to play a Champion in Ranked, you should also meet the other requirements with it.

In other words, you should have twelve Champions at MR7 to play Flex 3's, and twenty at MR7 to play Flex 5's and Solo/Duo.

If you somehow fit into those that now qualify, congratulations, enjoy your long queue times, because I'm certain, out of 140~ Champions, even with a pool of a million-some players, you're not going to have too awful many with 20 MR7's.

And if you don't fit into that prerequisite? Well, sucks to be you. You can't play Ranked. Get to grinding that Champion Mastery.

If you don't like the grind? Well, you asked for it.

See how bad things can get when you put an arbitrary MR7 prerequisite on Ranked?

I mean..to some extent I agree with you. Brand new level 30's jumping into ranked with no custom runes needs to stop, same with troll picking. But the M7 ranked requirement? A little too much. At the end of the day, you should play ranked if you feel like you're ready. Some people also feel like the default MMR for new ranked players (it's around mid silver) is a little too high though. I was a victim of this last season in my very 1st ranked game. Went 2-10 asVeigar . Quickly went back to normals.

This would only promote buying accounts.

i dont wanna be rude or anything, but especially in low elo i met a guy who had 1.3 million mastery points on darius. and i stomped him, he was total garbage. absolute horrible.

and yea you can reach ANY mastery rank/amount of points by just playing a lot.

so you're saying that everyone can only play m7 in ranked, therefore you need to own 20 mastery 7 champions, one tricks will get absolutely killed by this. Like i am shico one trick but i have a fair amount mastery 7's i think im at 6 now but like ur saying i need to get 14 more. I only enjoy playing 4 rn(karthus, shaco, yasuo, and teemo)

mastery level doesn't mean jack shit. literally it could mean that you had 5 good games against awful competition and now you have an emote. Don't get me wrong I like the mastery badge because I think it looks cool tbh, but mastery level doesn't mean skill at a champion.

Mastery 4 seems fair to me.

the problem being if you play blinds, take that champ in an offrole, youre garunteed an s rank because youre matched with players FAR below your skill level. mastery =/= skill

if you want to stop people from first timing champs, then maybe around mastery 3 would be fine (its enough to prove the basics of the champ have been mastered)
