Game offers no remedies for being trapped in bad matches, invariably causes toxicity

Theres this thing that goes around about how losing something, say like having 5 dollars taken from you, feels twice as worse as gaining 10 dollars feels good. The same applies to league of legends matches and its killing the drive to play the game for many people, including me. This hit an apex for me in the last three matches I played where I honestly considered leaving. Because otherwise I'd have been trapped in match for as long as the enemy team wishes. All my other options; surrendering, trying to direct my team, anything short of trying to force the match to end wouldn't work. And so I was stuck in the match, completely invalidated by a game state that prevented my team or myself from being effective in any action. This resulted from a combination of my own bad play (I'll freely admit) in some cases, and in others the actions of members of my team.

And so back to the first sentence, losing feels incredibly more bad than winning feels good. You also lose more in losing than you gain in winning. Playing out losing matches teaches you play better but that plateaus. You can reach a point where staying in match harms your state of mind and makes you play worse in subsequent matches. If you're the sort of person who has limited free time, the inability to disengage from terrible matches after the point at which loss in inevitable drives one away from wanting to play in the future. From my perspective it feels like I turned on the game to subtract from my will to play and ability to have fun doing anything else. I feel disenchanted with the game and with time I get conditioned to feel that turning on the game is a negative experience.

And that creates a sort of trap, where the only option it feels like there is to take is to lash out, because nothing else works.

So solutions? Reworked surrender timers? New matching mechanics? I'm not sure myself, but if this continues I might just end up taking another long break from league.

Yourself cause toxicity, not the.game.

U could just breath, relax, gather the focusxand.try to carry qith the few players that still want to win.

But then again, it won't give you the problem solving skills to think about how to play out the mid / late game.

People throw all the time, just because your opponents maybe good at laning phase, doesn't mean they'll do well in macro situations.

Personally, it's not very common that I encounter games that I feel are unwinnable. Maybe 1/20 where I may be doing fine, but everyone else is getting stomped cos they dont know how to position or take advantage of mistakes, so the agency I have as a support main is drastically lowered.

Look at the big picture.

Most people have computers in their homes today.

League of Legends is free to play and widely popular around the world.

Odds are there are more bad players than good players.

Odds are, you will have more bad players on your team then good players.

The devs barely do anything that has any kind of meaningful impact or rewards for players to actually learn to play the game.

The devs want money, bottom line they don't really care about anything else, IMO.

Players like you and me and many others have to suffer through mediocrity and hope that every now and then you have ten good players in the game. At least that is why I still play.

That is the gaming community today IMO and the result of quantity on the wrong side of even to be honest.

Years ago it was quite the opposite.

Gaming will never be that great ever again.

You have to find ways to have fun even when you're losing and your team isn't with you, for your own sake. I know it feels like shit to be trapped in what feels like a hopeless game, woth people flaming you, but if you can't enjoy league when you're losing you're gonna have a rough time.
