Report riot? Or just me....

I am going to post an email received from riot. This email contains a single game of chat logs from myself. It is the entire report. This came less than 2 minutes after the game ended.

context: i dont believe the account was banned at any other time for any other reason. But for this instance, lets say ive had a chat restriction, and a 1 day ban.

Your account has received a permanent suspension following an extensive audit of in-game behavior within recent League of Legends matches.

Here are some chat logs that were identified as negative by other players in the community.

i voted "other" because its not about how toxic you were. its about how often you were toxic. and you were toxic enough times to reach the bann you have right now

Your are 100 percent right, i have no idea how it works, yet i say, no one on this board does either.

k i can explain you as good as i know.

the current system gives punishements like this:

10 game chatrestrict 25 game CR 14 day bann permabann.

the system doesnt check "how bad" your chat was. it checks if you broke the rules. if you did so you get a strike. if you get enough strikes (so if you broke the rules enough times) you get a penalty. starting with the 10 game CR. if you continue to break the rules you go up in the penalty list. even if all you do is say "you suck" you can go from the 10 CR to the permabann. because like i said, its not about how bad you broke the rules, its about how often and constantly you do.

An extra point for the OP:

If you say real offensive stuff such as the use of hate speech / homophobic / racial slurs, you can jump punishment tiers and go from 0 to 14-day ban or even permaban.

Also, if you dont mind, answer me a question. I clearly dont have a full understanding of the system. If someone says "yo %%%%%" is this a reportable offense?

If it is indeed, then the system has no way of taking into consideration cultural differences from people around the country.

My point being here, there is a mute button, and i did not go crazy on someone. But if u can get tilted because i say you cant land a hook, then mute, but furthermore, what weak skin.

I grew up on basketball courts and football fields, no mute buttons, and much worse vocabulary. Maybe i just dont get it, whats a mute button?

You can request for more chat logs through Riot Support. We've seen people with 1 game chat logs only, we've seen people with 3. I don't know why sometimes its 1 or 3, but it might have something to do with the frequency of games and how often you were reported.

Eitherway, if you want more logs, ask Riot Support.

Keep in mind, you can report anything. What is counted as an offense is actually "determined" by the community, as the system learns from what the community deems as offensive.

Now my personal vote in NA, if you said "f%ggot" or "n%gger" or any variation of it in a negative manner, it'll most likely get you reported for racial slurs and homophobia, which is the category that Riot has the least amount of tolerence for.

I agree that alot of people have weak skin, but how you delivery it also matters. saying "lol can't land hooks op" is slightly different than how you send it, especially since it wasn't the "you can't land a hook" that got him tilted in the first place, but everything you've said before that.

its a button someone presses to stop people from FURTHER annoying themselves. If they have had to press it against you, you've probably annoyed them already.

This is the exact reason why i dont like the new system of "auto ban". There is absolutely no context to the chat logs. I never once said i didnt deserve a report, however, i say report lee for toxic, as he was "actually" toxic this particular game, cursing, belittling, ect. So while i deserve the report, everyone has bad games and a perma ban based off a single game instance on an account with little to no negative history seems a bit steep.

However, i greatly value your opinion, and appreciate your response.

Shows again that you don't understand the system.

Its not how many reports you get in a game that'll get you punished, its how many games you were reported in.

If in 1 game, 9 people reported you. That counts as being reported in 1 game.

If you got reported 9/10 times, the system checks the validity of the reports and finds that you were guilty in 7 of those 9 games, you now have 7 games reported against you.

Yea, I agree. Was a dick. however if we have a mute button that is quite easy to use then why not utilize such an asset? furthermore, what on here was racist, how man curse words did i say, and lastly how many moms did i fuck in this game?

I think the bottom line here is, most people don't believe that you actually haven't received punishments before this one. If you actually have never before received any kind of punishment, I'd agree a permaban wasn't warranted. If you were 14-day banned, it's deserved. If you were only chat restricted before, it depends on context that is difficult to acquire by non-Rioters.

That said, I heard that pre/post chatlogs were given with reform cards by now, but I also heard the opposite. So I suppose a instant permaban could also have been issued based on those.

I voted other...I would say this wouldn't warrant more than a week of chat suspension

but the issue is that you used a lot of key words that are detected, unfortunately you came off as oppressive and bossy even if trying to correct a bad situation

my advice would be to try and give helpful champion advice and to cut short some of the "attacking" text...although it is counterattacking, but not give your solutions to them as the "correct" response as I have seen predictions and strategies go wrong many times (unfortunately or fortunately as sometimes they win with said strategy and others it is a blatant loss)

overall, try to remember that it is a competition, and although frustrating and for fun, it is appropriate to keep cursing and negative opinions to yourself and to trusted friends so as to not aggravate a bad situation and make it worse, however, contradictory to this, even in a game with friends included(real life or online friends), keep such words to skype or another private, personal channel of communication
