Why are people like this/ What could I do about this?

So, I like to play supports. It's a quick way to get in-game and it's nice to help out. The downside to it..is the adcs. There is no way for me to avoid toxic ones. I could have done my job, but if they die I get spammed with remarks. I was playing a solo draft game as Taric. We had a Caitlyn as adc and she/he had a some remarks at the start, but I brushed it off. I started off rough, but I really picked it up later on. At one point, I protected our Malphite and he got a triple at the cost of not protecting Cait. They got pissed and ranted for a bit before silencing. At one point, a Thresh popped an "Ez" after getting a kill only for me to stun them to get killed by me and out jungler. As a joke, I decided to pop a "Ez" as well. Caitlyn was still pissy and she angry typed and I quote "shut the fuck up calm! you can't say shit when your neg" First of all, I had more kill participation then them. Second of all, I wasn't even negative. And last of all, this is an unranked game wtf. Throughout it, she would also solely target me. At the end, I asked my team "Should I report cait lol" they were like "Nah she wasn't that bad" Only for her to call me a "pussy ass %%%got" After a quick "lol" I said "Okay reported" In response to this I get spammed by both teams telling me to "man up" and "grow thicker skin". What should I have done in this situation?

Go toxic in character select so that they can see you're hard. Will stop 95% of adc whining ingame. Do not do this in ranked you will lose ELO.

Part of being a supp or jungle main is being bitched out by the team, try to turn it around and talk about what we did right in a play in ranked, go semi toxic in norms to keep your sanity, lol.

"Why are people like this/ What could I do about this?" the quick answer is Because they can be. Thats basically how it is on the internet. people can get away with acting like this because there is no "real" punishment. What could you have done in this situation? Mute the person. If someone has shown even the slightest signs of toxic behavior, the right thing to do is mute them. Cut off any type of communication in the chat. This is the reason why we have Pings. They are a great way to communicating to the team without actually using chat.

There are always going to be people like this in game since that is how the Human species works. Everyone is different. Just like in real life we have people who act like this and (to some extent) get away with it. Its how the world works, its not fair.

Don't ask for reports and don't mention you are reporting, just report.

ok so I looked up your match history. While I am sure they are total dickheads, you are building Taric entirely wrong for a support.....Tank yes, Support NO

You had 12 deaths, and two others on your team had over 12 deaths so not good there. You had a sight stone yet only managed to place 24 wards and 0 vision wards , you also killed 0 of their wards,

in your build you go for tank, but you need a Ageis of the legion vs their Veigar, and you had no Frozen heart to offset their Lee Sin or Sivir. you could have also turned that Ageis into a banner of command to help push a lane while your away from it.

so, observations. you build totally wrong, you don't ward enough, and you don't buy pinks to sniff out their wards. With your build of Frozen Gauntlet, Thorn mail and Shroud of Nature, you are SUPPORTING yourself, but not granting any extra bonus's to the team.

But yes, people can be dicks.

I used to main support, i have like 500+ support games and when I had a good adc, OMG we crushed (and i mean when he was a decent human being and said "ty" and "gj" or "u2", but when I got an adc that flamed me because my sona Q killed a minion (when i used it to poke) he literally left AFK and returned flaming me all the time because I made him get back in CS and lane and I fed while he was gone because sona 2 v 1... I kind of just let him die if he is an ashole like I could have healed you by pressing W and saves you and you could have say "gj" when we killed the enemy and I flash ult tank turret for u to survive, but intead i spam ping me "because why did u die to the turret noob". So yeah, we both could have, but we didnt huh. Moral of the story, dont take supports for granted, ESPECIALLY if they dont main support because they were probably filling and got stuck with support, so they dont want to do this and flaming wont help. Tbh, this goes for everyone but junglers and supports on the most part, if u want a gank or something, what do you think to end up deciding that spammingn, flaming, humiliatinng and threatening with going afk will do? "Mind of the ashole, "yeah, this will motivate him, this will get us ganks, this will make him want to gank and do his best, yeahh" Well, here's a surprise for you underlings, IT DOSNT, BE A DECENT HUMAN BEING, thankyou :D
